Our 2009 Honda Fit sport manual's airbag light came on about a month ago. I took it to the dealer today to have the recall serviced. They mentioned that the airbags were not functioning and we should have that looked at, for a minimum charge of $105 (just to determine the problem!). shouldn't this be a manufacturer defect and safety issue? the light came on without any cause we are aware of - no crash, etc. It just came on.

The contact owns a 2009 Honda Fit. While the contact was driving approximately 20 mph, the vehicle rear-ended the vehicle in front of him. There were no personal injuries. A police report was not filed for the incident. There was a deployment of the front passenger side airbag. However, the other air bag systems in the vehicle failed to deploy with the level of impact. The vehicle has not been repaired at this time. There were no prior warnings. The current and failure mileages were 9,000.

Traffic was slowing down because of work on the side of the road. I tapped my brakes twice without any result. The next time I put my foot to the floor and the car would not stop. I ran into a truck. Since my car was low, the sensor did not go off with the air bags. I own a Honda sport Fit 2009.
