Honda Odyssey 2005 model vehicle seat weight sensors could result in disabling the air bags. If a weight comparable to a child (such as school bag or groceries or a box) is placed in front passenger seat and seat belts are not buckled, air bags are disabled and the indicator light on the dashboard is illuminated. Even after removing weight the light stays illuminated. Subsequent passenger sitting and seat buckling do not have any effect on the disabling of air bags and indicator. It has to be reset by a dealer. This could endanger the passengers in Honda Odyssey 2005.

The air bag light stays on frequently, but not all the time. I noticed Honda Odyssey 2003 and 2004 model are currently under investigation for air bag problems including air bag warning lights illuminating. My Odyssey is 2005 model and is having the similar lighting problem. Can the Agency also investigate the year 2005 model please? I am very concerned the potential problems it may lead to. There has been no accidents with my minivan.

The air bag malfunction light comes on sporadically- looking on line I see there was a recall in 2005 for a malfunctioning airbag sensors in the 2005 Odyssey - but ours did not get the recall notice - it looks like there are several other 2005 Odyssey owners that also currently having this issue- the 2005 recall on this should have been more comprehensive so we would not be getting malfunction warning.

The brakes on this car never worked well. They screeched and squealed and were slow to respond. Despite many trips to the dealer and mechanics, they insisted nothing was wrong. I rear ended someone coming down a hill because I was unable to brake. The difference in speed must have been at least 35 mph. My airbags did not go off. I hit the seatbelt way too hard. The car in front of me did have his airbags go off.

I noticed that the airbag light came on and stays on when I drive the vehicle. I took it in to get the emissions checked and the mechanic suggested I look into recalls. Found one related to this, so I called Honda to discuss. Have not been able to reach them yet.

The airbag dash light came on and stayed on. I took my minivan to the Honda annapolis dealership service department where they ran diagnostics. They told me nothing was wrong with my airbags. They did find, however, that the driver's seatbelt needed to be replaced, so they did so free of charge. They weren't able to tell me why the airbag light came on, and told me to be grateful, as if there was something wrong with airbags, it would have cost me a lot of money to have them replaced.

This vehicle was not involved in an incident. I wanted to file a complaint regarding the safety feature of the airbags. The SRS light remains illuminated on the dashboard. I noticed a recall on other 2005 Odyssey and wanted to see if other 2005 Odyssey owners have experienced the same issue. This is a safety issue that I take seriously and should not have to pay to have fixed. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

- the contact owns a 2005 Honda Odyssey. The contact was experiencing steering problems related to recall #05V039000. While driving 50 mph the contact lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a ditch. While attempting to gain control of the steering the vehicle moved from the left to the right. The contact called the police, and was not given a police report. The mechanic replaced the tires, and stated that the failure was due to the tires. The contact advised the mechanic of the steering recall, and he denied that it was related. None of the air bags in the vehicle deployed at the time of the collision. Recall #05V344000 was related to the air bags: Frontal:sensor/control module. The drivers side door was difficult to close unless pressure was applied. The weather was not a factor. The current and failure mileage was 36,200.

The contact took car to the dealership this morning for a recall repairs concerning the air bags. The dealer was very nasty. He told the contact they would get to it when they could if they even got to it. He received the recall letter about a week ago. The contact called to make an appointment to bring the car in, but he was put on hold several times. He was unable to make an appointment. He did not leave the car there. He was going to take it to another dealer.
