The transmission stalls and doesn-??t shift into different gears or takes a long time to shift while letting the car roll (almost causing accidents as I have no control) The van also rolled back on its own down my driveway while I was trying to park and wouldn-??t go into gear until I was able to get a complete stop. The speed is also affected as it will not speed up when Pulling out from a stop And then it will speed too fast which makes it hard to not get hit by traffic going at a steady speed. This is not a one time incident, it-??s now a non stop issue every time I drive. This happens at all speeds and now can not drive past 50 mph without the engine revving.

2018 Honda Odyssey exl resnav w/ 9speed at aside from the transmission I also wrote up our Odyssey has used the collision mitigation auto braking system several times to not just slow but completely stop the vehicle. This did not happen just once. Or just to my wife the primary driver. It's happened to both of us multiple times. As you can imagine having the car 'take the controls' and stop the vehicle when you have the accelerator depressed to pass a vehicle this is unsafe. Doubly so when the vehicle behind you anticipates your acceleration and nearly rear ends you. Or the time my wife had a car cross traffic left to right too close to her and the surrounding vehicles turning into the local chick fil a. the vehicles to her left and right were able to slow and then proceed. Our Odyssey stopped dead in the middle of the 6 lane road that usually runs 45. She was nearly hit due to the overly aggressive stop from the cmbs. Turning left with a green arrow the van will even attempt to stop when it detects traffic sitting on the opposing side of the intersection yielding right of way. And will also lock on to vehicles turning left from the opposite direction and stop. This is completely and 100% unacceptable, unsafe and has destroyed my opinion of Honda which was sterling up until now. We may be trading this thing soon.

The vehicle completely shuts down and off intermittently when the auto idle stop function is engaged. This happens when we are in traffic on a highway and streets or at stop signs and stopping briefly and and the vehicle goes into park and must be re-started by pressing the "on/off" button. It is very scary and dangerous. Also I get an error message saying the vehicle's "heated seat system problem". secondly the vehicles collision warning comes on when there is nothing around and says the passenger side sliding door is open when it is not.

I was driving the car at 40 miles per hour on a back road without cruise control engaged. The road was one lane each direction, fully marked with lines, and gentle rolling hills. In a about mile long straight stretch I came upon a cyclist using the center of my lane and climbing one of the hills. I coasted a little bit slower and then moved fully into the oncoming lane to give the cyclist plenty of room. At this same time a car popped over the furthest visible hill a little less than mile away. At this moment the car stopped taking accelerator input. I was going up a hill next to a cyclist and losing speed rapidly. What should have been a pass with maybe 4 seconds to spare ended up being less than 2 seconds and a little frightening. I pulled in front of the cyclist much closer than I would have liked. Once I was back in the lane the car gave me control of the accelerator again. During the incident the were no warnings audible, visible, or haptic provided by the car. The only thing that was unusual was the engine going to idle and the accelerator not responding.

Auto shifting anywhere from 20-30mph results in hard shift or knock. When van is downshifting there is an acceleration or knock. Transmission was replaced at 22,000 miles. No explanation for the cause. This was noticed about 3 months into owning the vehicle brand new at 8 miles from a Honda dealership. It took them 13 months of a continuous cycle of going into the Honda certified shop for them to believe us. Now our vehicle at 25,000 miles continues to reproduce the same problem.

Tried to pull out of parking lot across 2 busy lanes to make my turn and car went into idle while driving, hit the gas pedal since cars were coming at high speed at me and it woke up. A day later received a recall notice on my Honda app called update park logic safety recall and scheduled appointment immediately for 4/29/19 to be told they get the same complaint often and cars brought in. The auto idle that comes on automatically should be activated by break pedal and woken up when let go but what they are saying is, it actually could get activated if someone with bigger feet accidentally touches the gas pedal. Not sure that is true because nobody has that big of feet to press fully both gas and break pedal and idle does not come on unless break pedal is pushed all the way. This is serious issue if you try to pull out of parking lot into traffic and car just refuses to go but Honda keeps sticking to same story and basically wants to make me believe both break and gas pedal were pushed at same time in the middle of the road which is not possible with my size 7 shoe and if that was the case why did the car move out of parking lot and die in the middle of the street? I possibly touched the gas pedal but definitely not pushed it and Honda is telling me "safety system for the brake override is working as designed, if brake and gas pedal are pressed at same time the system thinks you are trying to slow down the vehicle so it cuts power to prevent accidental acceleration". but if I am pulling out in the busy street why would I be pressing brake and gas pedal, only gas to get away before I get taken out or cause an accident, this sounds like an excuse before someone gets seriously hurt.

While driving on a 50 mph, two lane road, the vehicle abruptly shifted into neutral autonomously after experiencing a transmission failure and prohibited the driver from retaking control of the vehicle. With no power available, the driver was ultimately forced to coast to a stop on the shoulder of the road. Warning messages indicated a transmission failure, emission control failure, and blind spot monitoring failure. The car was towed to the nearest Honda dealer.

On 30 Dec 2018 as my family and I drove through osceola county, Florida, our Odyssey displayed an error message that read, "some driver assist systems cannot operate: Radar obstructed." The temperature was around 70 deg F and it was moderately foggy. The message cleared itself after 20-30 minutes and the driver assist systems came back online. We did not see any such error for the rest of our trip. At the end of our trip, on 3 Jan 2019, when my family and I were just outside charlottesville, Virginia, the vehicle proceeded to brake quite aggressively without driver input, as if it were avoiding a collision. It occurred near mile marker 115 on I-64 westbound, on a downward slope at dusk on dry pavement. We were perhaps 1000-1200 ft from the exit itself, well beyond the range of the 'extra long' setting on the acc at 70 mph. The only cars in front of us were already at the exit and did not appear to be undergoing any unusual maneuvers. This off-ramp is particularly long at this exit so I would not anticipate that those vehicles just entering the ramp were decelerating rapidly. I was using acc and lkas, as I had during most of our trip. When the van was braking, I instinctively depressed the throttle pedal to try to maintain speed. That resulted in the engine revving and no change to the hard braking. I disengaged the acc using the 'cancel' button and that appeared to end the hard braking (I may have briefly depressed the brake pedal at the same time but cannot be sure). I will also estimate that we went from around 70 mph to around 30-40 mph in those 2-3 seconds. There was no obvious external reason for the emergency braking maneuver instigated by the Honda's onboard system. This presented a significant potential hazard. We were very fortunate that there were no vehicles immediately behind us or we would have run a very high risk of rear collision.

Upon proceeding through an intersection the van began to automatically break to a complete stop from approximately 30-35mph, screeching tires, then shutting completely off. The entire dashboard cluster was dark as was the computer display for the radio/other controls. Looking down the "park" indicator was lit red. I pressed the break and the van started up and went into gear driving as if nothing occurred. This scared me and upon my call to Honda, they said it's related to another "electrical system update" which needs to occur but has not been completed so there was nothing they could do. I reached out to another dealership explaining the situation and they advised me to use the roadside assistance to have the van taken to them for safety reasons.

Having issue of acceleration at road speed. When doing road speed I have had flat acceleration when pressing gas pedal. Almost feels as if vehicle is about to stall or decelerate. Dealer with vehicle and they can't find issue. Dealer claims they have not had any Honda company reports about this. This event has happened several times. Last event interesting is that this has happened when decelerating to enter ezpass express toll at at 50mph and then trying to accelerate to flow of traffic

If acc (adaptive cruise control) is engaged (as well lkas -- I have not tested with acc alone) and the car goes down a hill (even with moderate slope), the brakes don't applied properly, and the car speed keeps on increasing violating the cruise control setting. At some point during the violation, the car even accelerates with the engine engaging in high RPM; I.e., 100% opposite to supposed braking. For instance, let's say cruise control is at 45mph. The car keeps on increasing downhill till say 51mph, and then suddenly the engine goes to high RPM further accelerating the car dramatically!
