The door panel on the left sliding door became separated from the door itself thus preventing the door from opening. The malfunction prevent egress from that door. The vehicle was taken to the dealership for repair. The dealership hated that the issue was considered cosmetic. The dealership ordered a new door panel at my personal expense. There was no prior warning that the door would malfunction and egress would be prevented.

I received a recall notice (NHTSA recall number 20V-439) for the back-up camera on my 2018 Honda Odyssey by mail in September 2020. I have repeatedly contacted the local dealer to have the repair made (3 times in the last 4 months) and have been told each time that the necessary parts for the repair are on "back order" and are unavailable. Therefore the local dealer (understandably) will not schedule a repair appointment. I also contacted american Honda's customer service department, who told me that they also have no additional information about the part's availability and that I should continue to work with the local dealership. If parts are not available to make the needed repairs, why is a recall notice even issued?

Upon opening vehicle using remote control (sliding doors or tailgate), the drivers door will not unlatch or unlock. No matter what you do, you can not open this door from the outside. Only way to open it is to go in via the passenger side of the vehicle and manual release the door. Dealership was notified of this problem once before and stated they can not duplicate, which seems to be the common answer for Honda when they don't want to take ownership for their vehicle issues.

While in motion at a speed where the vehicle auto locks the doors, the driver's door power lock will attempt to repeatedly lock the car door. The lock appears engaged, however it is not closed as far as the passenger side lock. The locking attempts can be reduced by pushing the lock manually to a fully closed position. The lock still functions and the door cannot be opened, however any attempts to unlock the door with the power locking mechanism are unsuccessful and the door must be manually unlocked from the inside.

The driver-side door power lock does not fully close resulting in an inability to unlock the driver's side door after closing and therefore inhibit entry through that door. Manually pushing in of the lock restores the ability to power-unlock, however it does not restore function to the power locking mechanism. Additionally, the effect appears to be temperature sensitive, where warm weather increases the chances of failure of the power locking mechanism. This happens when the vehicle is parked.

The pinch sensor keeps breaking which then causes the door panel to separate and the window to detach from the vehicle. This is not the first time since we bought it that this has happened.

We came home from the movie theater (which was only 5 miles away) and parked our car in the our driveway. When my husband turned off the car, we immediately smelled something burning. We see smoke coming up from the hood of the car. My husband, kids and I immediately got out of the car and see wafts of smoke rising from the hood. We see fire at the under bed of the car. Within 3 minutes fire was coming up through the hood of the car. The entire hood of my car was up in flames (4-5ft tall) within 5 minutes from smoke to full fire. Firefighters thankfully put out the fire within 8 minutes from when it started. The hood had disintegrated and the entire engine and all the parts in the hood were burnt and melted. My windshield shattered from the heat. This car was less than 2 years old, 37,000 miles on it. It was bought and service los regularly at the dealership. There is no reason why the car would just combust out of the blue. Called Honda of America with no avail. And refusal of any investigation. The entire incident was captured on our security camera.

When I stop curbside for school carpooling (I have 5 children at 3 different schools) to allow passengers to exit the passenger side sliding door, I then cannot get it to close. The door will slide all the way to within 1 inch of closing and pop back open. Repeatedly. Driving with the sliding door ajar is not safe. I have been able to use the driver's side buttons to stop the door, and start it closing again. If I do this stop/start action repeatedly (not allowing the door to slide all the way back open) I can almost always get the timing right to get it to close...but often it takes 3-5 minutes to get the stop/start combination to close the door entirely. I am usually unable to remain in the carpool pull throughs that long so I seat my baby on the drivers side so when we pull away with the door ajar, there is less of a safety concern until I am able to pull to another spot and deal with the door. It is very frustrating and even more so, unsafe!

When we start the engine all the errors come up saying that the vhs failed, the electronics stability failed, brake system failed and all the other components. We have purchased 2 Odyssey and they both have that problems. When we called Honda they told us to repair it as it was our fault. After few starts it goes away. We went to our mechanic and they reset the codes and it has gone away for now but there is an on going issue with the Odyssey. So Honda has recalled the Pilot but not the mini van. Same problems.

Drove vehicle, parked, and kept car running. Had only set of keys in hand when I got out of the car. Used the key fob to lock the car. Could not unlock the car using the key fob or button on the side of van. At the time, did not know there was a physical key in the fob. My kids were locked in the car and I had to instruct my five-year-old to unbuckle themselves from their carseat and unlock the doors. Event occurred late 2019. Have also had issue where I have stepped out of the car, while it is not running and my kids were in the car, they keys were in the car, and when I closed the door, the doors locked. Thankfully the button on the side of van worked to unlock doors, but if it hadn't, I would have had no way to unlock the car to get to my kids on a hot summer day. Event occurred summer 2019.

While I was driving this morning, on a side city street, and took a speed bump, the electrical system cut out entirely. I lost power to my speedometer and my entire infotainment system. When I stopped the car, got out, then got back in, the speedometer came back, but the infotainment system continued to be out. The infotainment system has been a problem since about day 30 of owning the car. It will cut out, say check tuner, the speakers crackle. Originally this was attributed to the auto on/off feature, but now the whole system shuts down.

When I slowed to a stop, the car suddenly died in the middle of the street and went into park. The air conditioner continued to run, we could not get it out of park. My concern is that the dealer says this has never happened before. I'm hearing from many sources that this has happened to them - even while moving. They can't seem to find out what's wrong, but I'm concerned that it's something major. It may also be dangerous if this happens while I'm driving, and I guess I don't trust the dealer. I'm just notifying you to make a record of this in case this turns out to be something more than just a quick fix..

On August 28,2019 my van had been parked in the garage all morning until I decided to go pick up lunch. I drove about 10 mins to the restaurant, parked for around five mins, then got back in car to drive home. About five mins into the drive home I heard what sounded like a bomb going off and then a scattering sound. I was shocked bc there was no cars behind me on the road and only one small sedan traveling about two car lengths in front of me. I had been watching closely to the back of the sedan bc it happened to be a friends and we were talking on the phone together. And no point did anything fling up from the road and there were no trees, bridges, or anything above the road. She could here the noise from her car as well and we both were like omg what was that sound, and then a second time the bomb like sound happened. About two mins later I pulled back into my garage and began inspecting my car and that when I realized it was my sun roof. My sun roof exploded out of no where. I live in southeast Louisiana and on this day we were under yet another heat advisory. At the time of the incident around 12:53pm it was clear sunny skies and 95 degrees outside with a heat index of 115. The aching A/C was set to 71 inside of my vehicle. The interior cover to sunroof was closed thankfully because otherwise things could have been worse with glass flying and falling everywhere.

The vehicle completely shuts down and off intermittently when the auto idle stop function is engaged. This happens when we are in traffic on a highway and streets or at stop signs and stopping briefly and and the vehicle goes into park and must be re-started by pressing the "on/off" button. It is very scary and dangerous. Also I get an error message saying the vehicle's "heated seat system problem". secondly the vehicles collision warning comes on when there is nothing around and says the passenger side sliding door is open when it is not.

There has already been a recall issued for the latches on both sliding doors. I was notified at the end of 2018 about this recall however my dealership (hubler Honda) did not have the parts at that time. They encouraged me to bring my van to back to hubler Honda at the beginning of 2019 as the parts would be more readily available. It is now July 25. I have an appointment tomorrow and that dealership notified me, today, that the parts are backordered and will not be able to fix the latches. This is absolutely not safe with three children and unacceptable. Can someone help? I know I can't be the only one this is happening to. Towards the end of the school year, there were multiple episodes in the car pick up line. My children would climb into my stopped van, push the button to close the door, it would close almost completely, and then open back up.

I bought the vehicle new on 07/10/2017. It has been towed into the dealership 3 times because it won't start. The first time it was towed in, the dealership replaced the battery. The second time it sat in my garage for two days. We were unable to start the van. The van has a keyless entry system. The van would not unlock, the lights on the dash wouldn't light up and it would not start. I called Honda and they sent a tow truck for the car. The tow truck driver tried to start the van by jumping the battery and he could not start it. It was completely dead. It was towed to the dealership on that Sunday. The dealership called me on Monday morning and told me that couldn't find a problem with the van. They said it started right up. They said they tried to replicate the problem but could not. I picked the van up the following day. Then on 07/19/2019 my wife drove the van to a local venue with the grandchildren. After about an hour, she came out to the van and it was completely dead again. I called Honda and they sent another tow truck to pick it up. Once again the tow truck driver attempted to jump start the van, and once again it was completely dead. The van was towed over to Honda where once again they said they could not find a problem with the van. It started fine. They kept it two days checking it out and once again told me that they could not replicated the problem. This is the third time in 2 years that the van has to be towed in and they can't find the problem. I cannot believe that I have the only Honda Odyssey in the entire world with this problem and Honda does not know what it is and find the problem.
