The non-power tailgate on my 2019 Honda Odyssey ex only opens to, a head bashing, about 5 ft 10 in. Me, my wife, and my 13-year daughter repeatedly hit our heads on the liftgate. The 2019-2021 trims with power liftgate open higher than 6ft 2 inches. Also, prior generations (pre-2019) of honday Odyssey liftagtes opened higher than 6 ft. With our current 2019 ex trim me, my wife, and our 13-year-old daughter all have to duck every time we load/unload the trunk. The dealer told me it's normal for the ex liftgate to open only 5ft 10in or so. I complained to Honda corporate after I, again, hit my head (with scars and photos to prove it). Honda called me and said that it is normal. I owned several cars before, Honda and other brands, and never ever had an issue hurting my head on the liftgate. I am 6ft 1in. This issue is an innjury hazard. Honda needs to admit to this as either an engineering or design oversight, or a bad decision, with the non-power ex trim liftgate. The power liftgate trims (more expensive) do open higher than 6 ft, so clearly it is not impossible to fix the issue. I also checked the 2021 Odyssey models today at the local Honda dealership - Honda did not address the issue: The ex non-power liftgate still opens at a similar 5'10'' while the more expensive ex-L power liftgate opens beyond 6'3''. please help me and many other ex trim owners with the same issue. A long conversation here: Https://www.odyclub.com/threads/problem-with-opening-height-of-tailgate-on-2019-Honda-Odyssey-ex.349995/ thank you. Most recent time I hit my head was on Feb/8

Inside panel of sliding door keeps popping off. This obstructs opening and closing of door. Sometimes the panel is so far disengaged that the door cannot be opened from tbe outside due to contact with the body of the van. This has occurred multiple times and has had numerous unsucccessful repairs made by the dealer.

Experienced issues when trying to accelerate from a stop, merging into traffic, driving uphill and changing gears at low speeds. Here are the specifics: Sudden, unexpected and violent shaking and jerking (commonly referred to as 'juddering' or 'shuddering') hesitation when pressing on the gas pedal surging, clunking or hard 'downshifting' also after a recent recall service done on the doors, I did not notice any change, the door does not respond well upon pulling the door handle, sometimes it needs to be pulled upon multiple times for the automatic side door to open.

Rear lift gate was not properly manufactured and was leaking water that could lead to mold growth. Issue was taken into service 3 separate times and different leaks were found each time. Honda corporate provided no assistance or support for resolving this issue and couldn't even find records of the complaint (I called and started a case each time - thank goodness I maintain records on this). Apparently, Honda corporate has no concern about water leaks or the quality of their manufactured product once it is sold to a consumer.

I bought my 2019 Honda Odyssey ex-L navi res yesterday on 9/15/18. While the vehicle was parked and stationary, I attempted to open the passenger door using the driver button. It would open and then about halfway it would close. I attempted this several times with the same result. I then tried to open using the passenger exterior handles but still the same result. When it started to close again I tried to see if it would open if I manually did it but it almost crushed my hand. Luckily it was only my shirt that got stuck. I was able to force it open using my shoulders. The vehicle only had 178 miles.
