After a short trip; usually to shop, I get a gas smell inside the truck when I restart. Honda dealer could not duplicate. The smell sometimes is also under the hood.

Honda certified used vehicle purchased in mid August ~27K miles. Shortly after normal vehicle operation and returning to our enclosed garage, the vehicle emits a strong odor of gasoline, not the result of improper or careless fueling. Two visits to dealership say nothing is wrong. No other source results in odor if this Honda vehicle is not in the garage, including a 2017 Murano. The odor is occasionally detectible in the cabin but that is not the primary complaint. The emissions of gasoline vapor (odor) appears about 15/20 minutes after shutdown and even detectible outside close to the vehicle between the left rear passenger door and rear wheel.

Fuel / combustion chamber odors accumulating around engine compartment when vehicle is parked in garage and filling the cabin with nauseating odor. This problem comes and goes with new resolution from dealer. Seem as an engine venting issue. Ongoing problem since new phurchase.
- New Berlin, WI, USA
There is a persistent smell of fuel after my Ridgeline is warmed up/driven and then parked. The garage itself will smell strongly of gas afterwards and those fumes get pulled into the cabin via the fresh air intakes. When inspecting the engine bay, its smells far more strongly on the passenger side of the engine bay than the drivers.
- Savage, MN, USA
Truck is getting gas fumes into the cabin intermittently. Smell comes through the A/C-heater vents. Does not happen when outside air circulation is shut off. Making owner get headaches and feel ill. Has been to the dealer twice for this, of which they have not established the issue. This is common for this maker and they have had other class action lawsuits regarding this. Happens when the truck is running. Can be when driving or sitting and idling. Can be at any location. Occasional feul smell outside the vehicle as well when truck is shut off.

Smell of gas in the cabin at engine startup. Dissipates within about 30 seconds.
- Apex, NC, USA
When turn on the engine has a rare sound like a combustion. Meet the technitian in Honda and he say that is not normal but happens in some Ridgelines
- Gurabo, PR, USA
Strong fuel odor coming from the engine compartment which is drawn in through the HVAC vents while stopped. It also makes my garage smell like gasoline for hours after the vehicle is shut off. The dealer said they couldn't find a fuel leak. It doesn't do it every time, but most of the time. It's not only nauseating, but also embarrassing because it makes my new Honda smell like an old car with a gas leak.
