When trading in my vehicle the dealership taking the trade would not give me the full trade-in value because of the open recall.

The contact owns a 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe sport. The contact stated that the manufacturer provided a recall notice for NHTSA campaign number: 17V226000 (engine and engine cooling). The contact stated that the manufacturer failed to provide a remedy and parts within a reasonable time frame. The contact experienced catastrophic engine failure and the vehicle stalled intermittently. The vehicle was taken to two different dealers (1. shockley Honda, 7400 shockley dr, frederick, md 21704, (301) 694-5400 and 2. heritage Honda parkville, (410) 882-3000), but the failure could not be replicated or diagnosed. The vehicle continued to stall for months. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and escalated the concern. The vehicle remained at the dealer awaiting a remedy. The failure mileage was unknown. Parts distribution disconnect.
