I've been replacing the light bulbs in my vehicle every few weeks... I'm constantly being pulled by the police for having a blower light. Also, my lights flicker on and off.. the lights in the dashboard as well as the lights outside of the vehicle. My gas meter doesn't display the correct amounts of gas it might say 309 until empty then it will say 62 until empty five seconds later and it continuously changes

Car was in motion heading straight on a busy interstate. I had been driving for approximately 45 minutes when it completely died causing the car to come to a complete stop right in the middle of a dark interstate. All of the dash lights came on right when the car started to die. There was no shoulder on this part of the interstate and it would not make it to the next exit. When the car came to a complete stop all the lights were then off and I could not even turn on the hazard lights, nothing at all was working. I tried to restart it a couple of times until I saw smoke coming from under the hood then I stopped because I thought it was going to catch on fire. I ended up getting it towed off the interstate to my house. The 2011 Sonata has known engine problems but not sure yet if mine was a result of the motor locking up or if it was electrical or perhaps both.

Recall for the air bag control unit still has not be completed. The recall was issued in February of 2018 and still no remedy available. In the event of a crash, the air bag control unit (acu) may short circuit, preventing the frontal air bags, seat belt pretensioners, and side air bags from deploying. It is unacceptable that a solution has not be found at this time. Hyundai should have to buy back all 2011-2014 Sonata's as they are a danger to the owners.

Hyundai recall / Sonata 2011 June 2018 : no remedy has still be announced, am still on "stand by" for a " possible remedy". was recommended to continue my safety recalled car by Hyundai Consumer Affairs, by brandon R. in huntington beach. And also andrew in corporate. After patiently waiting and requesting a loaner vehicle and manufactures refund, ive been directed to corporate to wait for this. We cannot just walk into a dealership and request a loaner vehicle. After waiting 2 months still no remedy, I am legally obligated to a refund or replacement which has still not implemented. After emailing the director of Hyundai manufactures, jim trainor says he will try and help me due to the severity of my situation and relaying multiple reports of my model catching fire (non-collision) after denying my request for a refund and/or replacement in result of a loaner vehicle since no remedy has been found long after the notice described one by April 2018. This can simply be resolved if matters were taken seriously as we are told.. the manufactuers get away with too much. Instead of being greedy.. my vehicle will be in stationary and have a airbag warning light on. Electrical safety and airbag saftey make this vehicle unfit to drive. I am demanding a refund and replacement.

Over the past year I have had to replace all my lights(front, tail and brake lights) consistently without warning. When grease monkey changed them recently, the mechanic stated that the wiring was very hot, and looked melted. Issue #2- when driving my car without notice, my lights inside will come on as I turn a corner or hit a bump. I have to turn them off in order for them not to come by themselves. Issue 3- my horn likes to work sometimes and other time, it will not sound. All my fuses have been checked many times, and no issue can be found. When I try to operate my radio from my steering will it have a mind of it's own. If I hit the volume up, it will activate the bluetooth call. Sometimes if I try to raise the volume to the radio, it lowers. Issue 4- when driving, and once I take my key out of the ignition, it's extremely hot. I really feel that there is a serious electrical problem in this car, and it needs to be addressed before something serious happens.

The contact owns a 2011 Hyundai Sonata. While driving approximately 50 mph, the vehicle stalled. As a result, the contact lost control of the vehicle and crashed into another vehicle. The contact stated that the collision occurred as the contact's vehicle was coasting to the side of the roadway; however, the other vehicle kept driving. The contact mentioned that all the warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel when the vehicle stalled. There were no injuries and a police report was not filed. Upon attempting to restart the vehicle on the second attempt, smoke was seen coming from the front of the vehicle. The contact opened the hood and noticed a small engine fire. The contact was able to extinguish the fire. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence and the insurance company was called. A local unknown Hyundai dealer was also called and informed the contact that the vehicle was previously serviced per an unknown recall for the engine stalling. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing or repairs. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The recall information was not provided. The failure mileage was 133,000.

The vehicle has approximately 70,000 miles on it, the bolts and plastic assembly on the right rear outside brake light have snapped without damage to any of the outside of the vehicle. The vehicle was not in motion, however possibility of problem occurring at random moments makes it dangerous to other drivers. Light assembly is held on by a few screws/bolts and the wires. Once snapped the wires hold it on.

Takata recall my caught fire 4/20/2018, the smell came from near the passenger lower foot area, it was a rubbery burning smell that quickly became white smoke emitting from the area. The car began running very roughly about 6 months ago, I did an oil change. A month later the car was over 2 quarts low on oil, where the oil went I have no idea. The car has been in the dealership over and over and over for various electrical, mechanical and engine issues. I have all documentation and feel the car is a safety hazard. Why is Hyundai performing the inspections on these cars when clearly they are the ones responsible. The inpsections should be done by independent mechanics that will be non biased. My car doesn't have brake lights that operate correctly either they work sometimes or not at all. It just depends on the connectivity of the electrical wiring at the time, I am totally not sure. The car just began being able to start without pressing the brake pedal. This just started and the stop pad for the brake recall has already been performed. It isn't just a stop pad issue. The entire car is an electrical hazard waiting to happen I just pray I am not in my car when it catches fire and no one else is caused any accident or injury as a result of it.

The wires for the brake lights has melted on both sides of the brake housing and all of it needs to be replaced. Hyundai dealership says they replace these often because of this! they worked one day and then when the car was turned on again they did not. Passenger side went out and 4 weeks later the drivers side did the same thing.

The contact owns a 2011 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that the key failed to turn in the ignition to start the vehicle, and it stalled several times without warning. The vehicle was taken to rick case Hyundai (3180 satellite boulevard nw, duluth, ga 30096, (678) 321-1584) for an unknown electrical system recall. The dealer stated that the recall repair was performed, but it failed to provide a permanent solution. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer on four occasions to have the starter replaced. The dealer indicated that the starter needed to be replaced a fifth time. The manufacturer stated that the vehicle was not included in a recall and suggested that the vehicle be repaired by the dealer again. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 25,000.

"takada recall" the push to start won't work sometimes, (stationary )it has me stranded at times. I have had the batteries changed several times and it still won't work, my front suspension is making a very loud noise when I step on my brakes(everytime I'm in motion) I've had new brake pads, rotors and $700 Michelin tires put on in Aug 2017 and this noise is getting worst, the wiper blades are top of the line and I cannot drive at night or in the rain because it's very hard to see, lastly I try to use my cruise control on the (highway) and I set it and bounces back down very low

I have been trying to communicate with Hyundai in regards to my electrical with my lighting, I have informed them that my back brake lights have went out at least every month changing them no less than twice a month a long with the head lights, now the part that holds the bulb has totally melted and you can smell the burning and they said that is not covered I have burned myself on this trying to evaluate the situation so I guess I will have to burn in the car after the wiring has completely melted everything else in the vehicle.

The steering wheel began clunking when it was turned even slightly. When I took it to get repaired, they could not tell me if it was the steering shaft or the rack and pinion. Also, shortly after we got the car, the engine went out in it (before the engine recall was issued). The dealership put in a junkyard engine and now I am having the same issue with it knocking. The left front axle boot is torn as well, and there is no indication how this occurred. The rear brake and tail lights are impossible to keep working. We change one and another goes out. We went as far as to change all of the brake and tail lights at the same time and less than a week later one was out again. The cruise control will come on but is unable to be set to control the speed of the car.

Airbag indicator light came on (and stayed on) when I started the vehicle in a parking lot on 12/13/2017. I immediately brought the vehicle to the dealership and the dealership said it was related to the passenger side and that the passenger side airbag would not deploy until the problem was found and necessary repairs completed. Research shows that this is a pervasive issue in Hyundai Sonatas for all model years to date. Several forums discuss this same issue and I see that several complaints have been submitted through the NHTSA as well. This issue involves both the airbags and the electrical system (sensors; passenger seat track) and poses a major safety risk. I was allowed to bring the car home, in order to weigh my options. I have driven the car once, and cycled the car on and off in my driveway. The airbag dash indicator remains illuminated. The cost to repair this issue feels exorbitant, especially since it appears to be more related to manufacturer defect that normal wear and tear. I am now stuck paying $1500 or feeling completely unsafe having a passenger ride in my front seat.

The controls on my steering wheel will randomly quit working. The cruise control will work fine one time and then the next I can't hit set or the cancel button will be the cruise or it will flip through the other options (trip button). If I hit the steering wheel in this vicinity it will work correctly sometimes. The volume button will either mute, or the + will actual decrease the volume. The button to change the station (presets) will change the mode (am, cd, sirius...) sometimes one direction (up) works and the other does something else random. All of the steering wheel controls seem to have a mind of their own and do not work correctly most days vs some days the buttons work fine. I took it to the dealership prior to the warranty expiring and it worked fine. Next day, issues again. I saw other complaints about this but can't seem to make it happen when I need it to. Frustrating since it is safer to use these controls that the buttons on the dash.
