I have had 4 potential accidents due to the brake lights which illuminates while driving. Specifically, while driving with my toddler on the expressway, pressing the gas pedal the brake light illuminates out of no where causing the car to slow all down and has even stopped while my foot was still on the gas pedal. Or order to get speed I have had to release my foot off the gas pedal, place my foot behind the brake pedal and then press the gas again. When placing the car in park the brake light would stay on. I have had to disconnect the battery in an effort to preserve my battery. I called into my local Hyundai dealership and was advised there was no recalls however, this safety issue resembles that of NHTSA campaign number: 15V759000 (service brakes) (brake pedal stopper) recall #136, 132.

Brake lights remain constantly illuminated, despite car being off. Required to disconnect battery terminal to preserve battery. Traction control warning lamp also remains on/illuminated as well. Car can shift between all (park, neutral, reverse, drive) without depressing the break pedal. This is similar if not identical to recall 136 for Hyundai, however, my VIN is not showing the recall despite exact problem as described. This problem does not matter if car is in motion or stationary.. it is constant.

The contact owns a 2012 Hyundai Sonata. While releasing the brake pedal, the brake lights remained illuminated. The contact also indicated that the brakes would remain activated while the brake pedal was not being pressed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the brake pedal stopper needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 15V759000 (service brakes). The vehicle experienced the same failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 65,000.

I purchased the car in June 2014 it was used and had 38,940 miles. I've had to buy three 3 starters & 1 battery since I bought it. The mechanic in Florida stated there was an electrical issue which was shorting out my starter/battery. I took the car to rick case Hyundai in plantation, fl, after the first starter died, I do not recall the exact date and they told me to get a refund from Hyundai as it was still under warranty. I would have been between Sept.-Dec. 2014. I have only been reimbursed $310 from Hyundai to date for the first starter. I get my oil changed every 3,000-5,000 miles. I took the car to lithia Hyundai in fresno twice, Jan. 2016 for recall 132 ' they claimed nothing is wrong. Seven months later I have the same issue. First complaint, while driving the car home last night the car slowed down and stalled while driving; I had to tap the gas pedal several times and the car took off. This happened on a busy road with cars around. When backing the car, there is a knocking noise. This morning, the car did the same thing on my way to work and I almost had an accident, because it would slow down while my foot is on the gas pedal ' it was like I am running out of gas and I have the tank almost full. It would take off again after tapping the gas pedal several times. This was on a very busy road with a lot of cars. My fianc took the car August 2016 to visalia Hyundai and they tried to claim my car/VIN # does not show it as being under recall. I had to pay $81 to get that fixed and that issue was part of a recall as well but I was told my VIN # did not show up for it. I have had electrical issues and engine issues with this vehicle since 2014 & Hyundai has done nothing. I brought my vehicle to the dealer while still under warranty, they failed to do anything. I've paid a lot of $$$ monthly for this car & on repairs for a car that isn't safe.

I was driving with my daughter and took a wrong turn ending up on a dead end street on a hill in sonora. When I put it in reverse turned around then started going forward my entire car and brakes failed without warning. I quickly through on the emergency brake that stopped me from hitting a tree. Thank god it happened there as the next morning I would have been on a 2 lane mountain highway with all 3 of my daughters on a holiday weekend and it could have been fatal. My car has had all services and had just been serviced recently there were no issues and no recalls

Reference NHTSA recall 15V75900 ie. Brake pedal stopper pad my vehicle has this exact issue, however was manufactured just after the recall period and thus I was told by Hyundai that it will not be fixed. Obviously, the recall needs to be extended to vehicles made after the April 2011 date.

Hyundai break switch, Hyundai break lights, sunroof, air conditioning break switch gone out four times. Took to savannah Hyundai to be fixed. No fix as car continually does not accelerate in the middle of nowhere - on the highway or when getting ready to pull out in front of traffic - very unsafe. I have contacted Hyundai Corp concerning this issue since 2015. Savannah Hyundai service manager mike told us that we were not allowed to return for repairs because they got frustrated trying to figure out. Break light never works. Had this repaired 3 times. Savannah Hyundai put new sunroof on. Four months later it wont open or close. We have paid for everything over and over and over using our extended warranty and copays. Even if Hyundai or savannah Hyundai previously fixed something and it was even within 90 to 120 days that the repair was bad, they never offered to fix without charge. Always made us repay full deductible and costs.. car does not turn on air conditioning system intermittently. Trips get awfully hot. Sometimes starting up car and restarting fixes. Savannah Hyundai never able to fix. Savannah Hyundai has reported on two occasions that our car has serious electrical issues. They believe this is related to sunroof and brake light. This car has been having issues before 60,000 miles and stil lhas under 90,000 and same issues repeatedly. This car is not safe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! car is unsafe. Currently emailed david zukowski of Hyundai, other Hyundai outlets, message hyunda on fb. Unresolved.

The engine oil pan was resealed five times and still its leaking. When they resealed the second time, they replaced the oil pan as well. After that it was resealed three more times and the car is at the dealer for sixth reseal. They are replacing the pan again. The brake caliper pistons are exhibiting excessive rust which I have not seen in my life while owning and maintaining various cars. The field engineer is saying that its normal and I don't agree with that. What I have seen based on that it's a design flaw. The caliper piston should be pressing completely against the brake pad surface area where as small portion of the caliper remains in non contact with the pad and the salt and slush during the winter gets into it making it rust which will impede the braking operation in future and may cause a fatal crash. Attached photographs are showing pack rust inside the piston on both the driver and passenger side.

The vehicle has a history of losing power completely. At this point I am unable to enter the car with the keyless entry, you have to do it manually. The car was parked on the street. Once you put the key in the ignition the horn/alarm goes off and doesn't stop. It also seems to be revving while it is in park. While driving I experience little power surges from the car where it accelerates with me trying to do anything. There was also another instance where the car would not start once the emergency brake was engaged. Once disengaged the car started with a little hesitation. I only had the car for 6 months and have had to bring it back to the dealer at least 6 times.

On more than a dozen occasions since purchase, the vehicle has neglected to accelerate when the gas pedal is depressed nearly causing me to be hit by oncoming traffic. Additionally, the vehicle has slammed on the brakes at high rates of speed when the driver was barely applying pressure to the pedal; almost causing the vehicle to be rear ended. The vehicle has been inspected by two Hyundai dealerships for the issues; of which they claimed to have replicated. Both dealerships stated that it was normal behavior for the vehicle and there was nothing they could do to make the issues go away.

My car caught fire while being towed by my motorhome in South miami, fl on route to key West, fl. A South miami, fl Hyundai dealer repaired my car but did not replace all the parts paid for by my auto insurance company. The repair shop did not keep the burned parts as requested by me and my insurance company representative. Later, another Hyundai dealer completed the repairs as authorized by Hyundai usa after numerous communications with me, but the Hyundai dealer would not provide me with the burned parts as requested. Hyundai did not report that a fire had caused the damage. Not sure if Hyundai usa or its dealers have requirements to report fires in their vehicles. I have names of contacts with Hyundai usa in ca. I have the burned TPMS sensor not replaced by Hyundai, but paid for at my expense to a tire store in my home town. I have pictures of my car on fire; pictures of the burned parts on car in possession of my insurance company representative; I have receipts from the South miami Hyundai repairs, and I have receipts from the other Hyundai dealer for parts needing replacement but not replaced by the South miami Hyundai dealer but paid for by my auto insurance company. I also have a receipt for replacement of the burned TPMS sensor by a tire store in my home town. I filed a complaint against the South miami Hyundai dealer with the local government Agency responsible for licensing auto repair shops in that county.

On Jan 26 my husband was driving home and the road conditions were slippery. When he went to apply the brakes, he heard a loud pop and the brake went all the way down to the floor and would not come back up. Luckily this happened around the corner, but by the time the car made it into the driveway the brakes were smoking. I had to have the car towed to the mechanic. We had to replace the front brake pads, calipers and rotors. Also the brake switch oem had to replaced. When all said and done the total cost came to $729.64. Can I tell you how disappointed I am in this vehicle?? this vehicle is only a 2012 my high beams don't work nor does the cruise control. I am starting to think this car is a real lemon!!! at this point I would like to know if the brake system has any recalls because my bill was extreme and should not have happened on a 2012. I do not have the VIN number on me at this time. Very very disappointed and have nothing good to say about this car!
