Vehicle shut off while driving no lwarning lights

Brake lights fail to light when needed. Also, the ESC alert comes on intermittently. When the ESC light comes on, the brake lights do not work. However, the brake lamps have not worked when the ESC is not on. Seems related but not entirely exclusive. Do know that there was a brake lamp defect for the 2006-07 Hyundai Sonatas and there was a recall. This issue has not been resolved.

In the last few weeks my vehicle has started to have electrical issues related to the steering column. If I turn on my right turn signal, the headlights blink or just turn off. The radio will sometimes turn off as well. If I press any of the volume buttons on the steering wheel for the radio, the car thinks I'm trying to initiate voice commands to call someone. If I try to turn on my high beams, sometimes it works, other times the headlights turn off. All of these things happen whether the vehicle is stationary or moving on any type of road. The vehicle is designed so that if you leave the headlights on, remove the keys, and lock the vehicle, the headlights turn off. It still does this, but the lights will turn on again later and try to kill the battery.

While driving down the street I came to a slowing to make a left hand turn, my car filled with smoke. I pull over to find smoke coming from trunk are and behind the back seats. Open the trunk to find flames near drivers side tail light. Car went into flames and was a total loss.

The approximate failure mileage was 56,000.

Its a key-less, push button ignition. When try to start as I normally do, lights in dashboard go on but car wont start. I`ve tried everything, I`ve had the car towed for 50 miles to my house, try again for the next 2 days and still dont work. I research on internet to find out lots of drivers have had the exact same issue. I`M taking it to the dealership tomorrow.

The contact owns a 2012 Hyundai Sonata. While driving 40 mph, the vehicle lost power, the power steering seized, and the instrument panel fully illuminated. In addition, the contact observed smoke coming from the engine. The fire department was called and assisted with pushing the vehicle off the road. The fire department used a heat gun to confirm that there was no combustion or fire within the engine; however, the smoke and odor originated from the engine. The fire report status was unknown. There was no fire to extinguish. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer (fairfax Hyundai, 10925 fairfax blvd, fairfax, va, 22030) where it was diagnosed that the engine failed and needed to be replaced. The engine will be repaired under the warranty. The manufacturer confirmed the failure was due to a brochure that was received in the mail the day after the failure, but it was not a recall. The VIN was unknown. The failure mileage was approximately 61,000.

The engine was repaired, and while the engine was being worked on I repaired the steering, not knowing it was a recall. When I found out I went back to the dealership that did the work and got a printout of receipt showing that I paid for that recall, also advised that I has having problems with the lighting system for the car. Well it has been months later, can't seem to get a response from in regards to my refund and I was advised that I would have to pay to get the lights checked. I have had my lights to go completely out while driving on the highway. That includes interior and exterior lights. I nave had the inside lights to go off and come back on seconds later. I have had just the outside lights to go out for at least five minutes while driving on the highway going home. I have had the lights replaced and they keep going out.

Radio stops working unexpectedly. Must disconnect fuse on left side of dashboard and reconnect to resume normal operation. High beam switch works intermittently, must wiggle switch to engage high beam function. Automatic transmission occasionally locks up (can't shift) when starting vehicle in park, must wiggle gear shifter or push release lock button to start.

On several occasions, while the accelerator pedal was being depressed, the vehicle decelerated independently. The vehicle was taken to red mc combs Hyundai northwest (located at 13663 interstate 10 frontage road, san antonio, tx 78249, tel: (210) 798-4500) where it was diagnosed that there was a brake plug switch that was unplugged, which caused the vehicle to stall. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The contact also stated that the tail lights were also inoperable. The contact stated that the bulbs had been replaced on several occasions, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not contacted or notified. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000.

I own a 2012 Hyundai Sonata with 68963 miles on it. While driving I notice my SRS light will blink and stay on for a few minutes, since there it hasn't gone away. The car has had the light on for the past 4 days. Took it to dealer got charged $130 for inspection only and it's not part of any recall. I seem few people complaining about it. I think Hyundai should inspect this as well, there is a anchor pretensioner recall going on as well. 63963 miles only and this problem really?

The ESC light came on 3/14/17 and remain on from 7:00pm to 8:00 pm and then went off by itself. On 3/13/ 17 in the morning I was 40 min to work and when I arrived to my destination of work I continue to press the gas pedal while driving but the car slowed down like it was going to cut off, so I pulled over on the side of the road and cut the car off and restarted the car, after doing this I was able to drive the car normal but with hesitation. In August I was having problems with the car not starting, so I press the button for ignition but it would not start this would happen often I took the car to the Hyundai dealership and was told that they could not detect the problem which they also kept the car overnight but did not find anything wrong. My car would not start after several encounters finally I would put the car in drive and then start the car and it would start right up everyone it would cut off. I call the dealership several times and was told that they could not do anything about this problem I became very frustrated and was not help to solve this situation and still frustrated with the problems that I encountered with this car and the Hyundai taylor dealership on Washington rd in augusta ga with time bring the car, money to be spent with diagnostic to find out that their is no problem and I am still having problem with this car- this is my complaint. When stopping or pulling out when depressing gas pedal it will not accelerate from time to time im afraid to drive the car due to trying to pull out if it doesnt go I could get hit by un coming traffic, also there is something wrong with electrical system I have change one light every month since I have owned the car either a headlight brake light or tail light
