Boyfriend's vehicle. Check engine light came on and the code P0087 was noted by the obdii (fuel rail pressure low) mechanic originally stated that this was an "intermittent" problem and the whole system would have to be replaced at + $1200. This didn't make sense to him so he asked to be shown exactly where the problem was located, and what part was causing the problem. The mechanic could not give him an answer. "it's around this area" he replied as he waved across the center of car. He went to another mechanic and another after that. Only consistency has been the lack of know how to fix this problem. In the meantime, his oil is thickening and darkening, and his fuel is not giving him the mileage it should. It seems the only assistance anyone wants to give revolves around replacing the whole system, yet the servicemen themselves admit that they are uncertain that this avenue for repair is necessary. None of them can offer us a repair or replacement of the sensor itself. Finally, one mechanic advised us that under the P0087 error code the following could be causing the engine light to come on: 1. weak fuel pump, clogged filter or screen, restricted fuel supply line 2.faulty fuel pump driver module 3.faulty fuel pressure sensor. Unfortunately, this mechanic is a student and not certified to perform repairs. I verified his opinion thru obdcodes.com but was quickly disillusioned because again, no one is willing to check these causes individually. Finally my boyfriend was told to just buy a can of air spray to blow out any surrounding dust and then just let him 'reset' the check engine light and see how long it stays off. I know that this is wrong and have found a repair guide finally. But, I also now find service bulletin no.: tsb-15-01-010 component(s): Engine NHTSA id number: 10058132 that seems to be about this issue. How do we resolve this problem already?

On more than a dozen occasions since purchase, the vehicle has neglected to accelerate when the gas pedal is depressed nearly causing me to be hit by oncoming traffic. Additionally, the vehicle has slammed on the brakes at high rates of speed when the driver was barely applying pressure to the pedal; almost causing the vehicle to be rear ended. The vehicle has been inspected by two Hyundai dealerships for the issues; of which they claimed to have replicated. Both dealerships stated that it was normal behavior for the vehicle and there was nothing they could do to make the issues go away.

Smell of gas, this car have had 2 motor replaced one in June 2014/ 2nd in August 2014 and now a third in Oct 23, filled the car up with gas, got on the interstate and the car started cutting back, big clouds of smoke came from the rear end, black sutt on the exhaust pipes.the car putter on the interstate, had to get off the road car shut down while try to steer to safety, once car shut down it became hard to control, went other the side of rode, hit a water pipe line, car never crank after that. Had to be towed to Hyundai dealer ship. This is the 2nd time I have reported this car. Now it is in the shop awaiting engineering to review it. For the 3rd motor.

I had a check engine light on my vehicle and it revealed an issue with the high pressure fuel pump which is located in the engine area. This is not something that should go out that quickly. Apparently this is a common issue with this vehicle and they need to recall these.

3rd time the exhaust flap has malfunctioned in the turbo charger. Driving on the highway at a posted speed limit and the car suddenly loses all the power and slows considerably with vehicles behind and beside doing posted speed limit. Concerned about getting hit because of sudden loss of power. Repaired once, unstuck on its own the second time and recently required maintenance to again adjust the system and unstick the exhaust flap on the turbo unit. Currently under warranty however is going to be a very expensive repair when not and also concerned about getting hit from behind when the speed and power suddenly drops as well as not being able to get home when it happens again.

Dishonest mileage claims: 2012 Hyundai Sonata."advertised: 26/35" - actual 24/25...not even close. Class action suit in ca but, inexplicably, only 'certain' models. I've not heard one Sonata owner 'happy' with their mileage. Its fraudulent and misleading at best. Hyundai is sending an engineer to look at the vehicle but if they're on Hyundai payroll what kind of result do you think I'll get?

This is a hybrid vehicle. It chugs, hesitates and almost stalls when accelerating from a complete stop. The service people tell me that it is normal but this is my 3rd hybrid and this is not normal.
