My car is not starting up. When I push key start and press the brakes the lights on the dash comes on but the car wont start. If I wait a fews hours then it will start. I have waited as long as 5 hours in a parking garage. The car reads "key not in vehicle". I have gotten new batteries for both key fobs. The first time the car did this after a few hours later it started and I didn't have an issue for about 3 weeks. Since that time the car has not started on 3 other occasions. I had to have it towed to the dealership. They said I needed the fuel injectors cleaned. So I paid to have that done and then the car started every time for one day. The very next day the wouldn't start again in my driveway. After an hour it started and then the next day it did the same thing and my daughter missed work. When the car doesn't start all the lights and radio come on but the car just wont start. Every time this has happened the car has been stationary. I cant leave my car running while I go to the store because I'm afraid it will not turn back on. I have read article about this same issue from other people with the push start vehicle.

While my car is in motion it does not accelerate properly. A check engine light come on shortly after. The car will rev up to 5000-6000 RPM with very little to no acceleration. Apparently a common issue with the Sonatas with turbos. I was told it's the waste gate actuator for the turbo. When I first experienced this issue I was driving through the mountains and couldn't get up the mountain fast enough so I had to pull over to the shoulder with my hazards. The remainder of the climb over the mountains I was going 20-30 mph (while I'm at 5000 RPM or over).

I was parked. I started the car and put it in reverse to move it closer to a building, from one side of a dirt driveway to the other. When I started backing up everything seemed fine but after a few, maybe 3 seconds, the engine started roaring and the car took off at tremendous speed. I don't know how fast the car went.I hit the building, that's what stopped the car. I don't know if it would have stopped otherwise.

In the last few weeks my vehicle has started to have electrical issues related to the steering column. If I turn on my right turn signal, the headlights blink or just turn off. The radio will sometimes turn off as well. If I press any of the volume buttons on the steering wheel for the radio, the car thinks I'm trying to initiate voice commands to call someone. If I try to turn on my high beams, sometimes it works, other times the headlights turn off. All of these things happen whether the vehicle is stationary or moving on any type of road. The vehicle is designed so that if you leave the headlights on, remove the keys, and lock the vehicle, the headlights turn off. It still does this, but the lights will turn on again later and try to kill the battery.

My car is currently at a shop being looked at. I had to have it towed because I was driving it and it started making a knocking sound and died on the side of the road. I have constant lighting issues where I have to replace headlights and brake lights every month to 2 months. Lights are very dim all the time. It has a clicking sound that never goes away. I feel very unsafe in this car. I owe 2 more years on this car and I'm afraid it's not going to make it. I have no transportation to work now and I may be at risk of losing both jobs I have. I'm so disgusted in my choice of vehicles right now.

I was driving from greensboro, North Carolina and was on 95 North in petersburg, va and I heard a loud boom (like a gun blast). I pulled over to the nearest rest area only to find a big whole in my sunroof. Now the dealer is stating that it won't be covered by them.

I have a 2012 Hyundai Sonata. Love the car. On a beautiful clear day, temperature was about 55 degrees. However, on March 19 as I was driving I experienced a loud shotgun type explosive noise while driving. I actually thought someone had shot at the car or something. Fortunately I was able to safely pull over to the side of the road. I had small children in the car. We were all terrified. I actually called the police. As I was waiting for the police, pieces of glass begin to fall on the sunroof visor. Thank goodness it was not open. I realized that it was the sunroof that had been compromised. Then I thought that maybe someone had thrown a brick or something. Once the police arrived, they informed me that nothing had externally caused this issue. The sunroof exploded from the inside out. They informed me that they had seen this before and that there were claims against Hyundai. So naturally I contacted my Hyundai dealership inquiring about if there was a recall. Of course, they said there was not. I had to file a claim with my insurance for repairs. I cannot imagine if I had been on the highay with the kids. I could have wrecked and could have been fatal. This issue really needs to be addressed.

The ESC light came on 3/14/17 and remain on from 7:00pm to 8:00 pm and then went off by itself. On 3/13/ 17 in the morning I was 40 min to work and when I arrived to my destination of work I continue to press the gas pedal while driving but the car slowed down like it was going to cut off, so I pulled over on the side of the road and cut the car off and restarted the car, after doing this I was able to drive the car normal but with hesitation. In August I was having problems with the car not starting, so I press the button for ignition but it would not start this would happen often I took the car to the Hyundai dealership and was told that they could not detect the problem which they also kept the car overnight but did not find anything wrong. My car would not start after several encounters finally I would put the car in drive and then start the car and it would start right up everyone it would cut off. I call the dealership several times and was told that they could not do anything about this problem I became very frustrated and was not help to solve this situation and still frustrated with the problems that I encountered with this car and the Hyundai taylor dealership on Washington rd in augusta ga with time bring the car, money to be spent with diagnostic to find out that their is no problem and I am still having problem with this car- this is my complaint. The car turns off while driving and there is a loud knocking sound from the engine area. The car also hesitates, and it is a loud roaring sound from the engine area.
