While driving down highway car began to smoke from tailpipe and began to lose acceleration while driving on highway. Vehicles check engine light illuminated. Took vehicle to nearest auto part retail store for diagnostic testing. Error code P0014 came up along with 2 other codes. Took vehicle to auto repair shop. Advised the exhaust solonoid had to be replaced along with spark plugs and gaskets due to burning from theta 2.0L turbo oil feed line. Car not drivable back to houston where I reside. We had to find additional time to stay at hotel and well as pay for transportation back home. My car is still in san antonio. Recall was repaired less than 6 months ago and car now has the same issue.

I was driving to work Friday 12-6 at approx. 7:24am and the check engine light comes on and flashing. I then pulled over to see what was wrong and I turned the car off and back on the car will then only accelerate to 10 mph then slowly accelerate but will not go past 63. I was able to drive it back to a mechanic who then diagnosed it and stated it was a P3126 obd-II diagnostic powertrain (P) trouble code description P3126 engine trouble code is about exhaust gas recirculation sensor B circuit high. Reason for P3126 code the reason of P3126 obd-II engine trouble code is engine oil temperature sensor malfunction. P3126 code on vehicles with electronically controlled automatic transmissions, the 3-4 shift solenoid is responsible for actuating the hydraulic circuits to activate clutches or bands that change gears inside the automatic transmission.contacted Hyundai and justin asked me was the check engine flashing I advised him yes. He said it was more than likely a recall. He made me an appt for Tuesday 12-10 @ 7:15am. I proceeded to drive my vehicle to Hyundai and I was told it's not a recall and they are going to charge me $175 just to diagnose the problem. I drove it back to my job in flowery branch ga and contacted geico to tow it back to my house.

Apr 172019

Sonata

  • 29,000 miles
Around 25000 miles, after start, strong engine vibration with no power - about to stall. Dealer changed variable charge motor after 5 occurrence of similar situation. After few months at 29000 miles, 2015 Sonata SE (2.4L 4 cylinder engine) lost power and stalled in the middle of city street, while driving. Could have caused big accident if I was on highway. Car was unable to restart. Towed to dealer and replaced accelerator position sensor. Could be related to issue with 2011-2014 Sonata engine recall since my 2015 Sonata uses almost same theta-II engine.

Mar 192019

Sonata

  • 75,000 miles
My 2015 Hyundai Sonata was purchased brand new, and have had multiple power/acceleration issues; however, the most recent happened on March 19, 2019. While driving on a street (evening time) with the speed limit of 45, my car started to sputter/jerk back and forth, abruptly bringing my car to a speed limit of under 15 mphs. I tried to accelerate, but the gas paddle was unresponsive. This a major hazard and extremely dangerous. This is a known issue, and Hyundai corporate office is aware (I called after the first incident), and is not doing anything to rectify the issue. NHTSA need to make the manufacturer accountable, by reason of the numerous complaints about the same issue. I was close to being rear-ended, and if nothing is rectified, it will cause an owner to be severely injured.

The contact owns a 2015 Hyundai Sonata. While the contact was pulling into the driveway with the brake pedal depressed, it independently accelerated without warning into a two-car garage. The contact attempted to stop the vehicle, but was unsuccessful. Prior to the failure, the vehicle surged forward without warning, but the contact was able to maintain control of the vehicle. During the second failure, the vehicle crashed through a double garage door and partially into a wall at the end of the garage. The air bags did not deploy. Police report number: 18-0018173 was filed. There no were injuries sustained. The vehicle was towed by the contact's insurance company to a facility for inspection purposes. The contact stated that the entire front end of the vehicle was damaged. It was undetermined as to whether or not the vehicle was destroyed. A dealer and the manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 41,000.

P0010 code and P0011 can hear a metal grinding noise when accelerating also fluctuating rpms. I keep immaculate maintenance and take excellent care of it. Absolutely no idea how but parked car everything was normal, started car next day and rpms shot high and light came on. They reset light and say nothing wrong but this keeps occuring. Highly upset as I have absolutely loved everything about this car until now.

Sonata

  • 50,000 miles
Whenever I accelerate on the highway my engine would rev to a high RPM with a delayed reaction in order to get the car accelerated. Also, whenever I slow down my car for a stop light or stop sign, my engine would rev to a high RPM to slow down my car. I asked the Hyundai dealerships, they said the everything is okay, however I can tell right away there's a difference with my 2015 Hyundai Sonata vs my girlfriends 2015 Hyundai Sonata, exactly the same year and model and trim, but the drive is totally different. Also, I can also tell because the mpg on my car is far lower than my girlfriends. And she has a heavy foot on the gas petal. It doesn't make sense. The Hyundai dealership also reset the computer of the car, but no difference.

Sonata

  • 2,500 miles
While driving at 70 mph on the highway with adaptive cruise control operational, the vehicle failed to respond on 3 different occasions to the sudden and unexpected presence of a vehicle that unsafely moved into my traffic lane just feet ahead of my vehicle. Instead of my vehicle backing off, my vehicle was moving closer and closer to the car ahead and I had to apply the brakes in order to avoid crashing into the vehicle in front of us. It was as if the adaptive cruise control system was unable to "see" situations when confronted with vehicles that suddenly appear in front of my vehicle and are extremely close. In all other respects, that adaptive speed control system worked perfectly.

Sonata

  • 45,000 miles
1/14/18 upon entering a 4 lane major road from a store parking lot, my 2015 Sonata would not accelerate. I let off and pushed the accelerator pedal, no response though the RPM's were revving. The check engine light came on. I pulled over, shut the car off, and restarted the car. The car seemed to accelerate ok after some initial hesitation. However, the engine light is still on and the car is accelerating up to 11 mph, in drive and reverse, on its own when the brake is released (no use of accelerator pedal). In addition, when in drive, the car lurches forward reaching a speed of about 5 mph as soon as the break is released. I see recalls for these engine issues on 2011-2012 models. Appears issue not resolved with engine recalls showing for mode years 2013-2014, it seems the engine issues are still not resolved for 2015. My car has less than 45,000 miles and has been serviced at the Hyundai dealership I purchased the car new every 3000 miles until my oil change time before last. The next service sticker was for a 5000 mile interval and when I questioned this, I was told the dealership was using a higher performance oil that didn't require changing prior to 5000 miles. I had the next oil change done at about 4000 miles. I am concerned I will be told there is nothing wrong with my car, my engine is going to seize, and I will be stuck with this repair expense.

My wife believes our car had a "sudden unintended acceleration" that caused the car to lurch forward at a high speed and rear end the car parked in front of her. She kindly suggests that employee take the time to research this on the internet. Use google and type in Hyundai sudden unintended acceleration. You will see stories from numerous Hyundai car owners who say they have had this same problem happen. This problem is very dangerous and I fear for my wife's safety when she continues to drive our Hyundai. I know we have no proof of this happening unless Hyundai motor Corp. "owns up" to the problem. But my wife is absolutely certain that our car suddenly unintended accelerated forward causing the rear end collision. She was attempting to park her car on a street. My wife is a very safe and careful driver. She has been driving for 30 years without having an accident, until recently. She truly believes the accident was caused by the sua and she was not at fault.
