I have had two emergency recalls due to transmission slipping, jerking at slow speeds, almost stalling out and actcellerating abnormally with the RPM's racing. During each recall, the dealership completes an updated software on the transmission and when I leave the dealership, my vehicle noticeably drives much smoother and normal. A few days later, the Tucson transmission problem begins all over again like the it acted before. I feel this 2016 Hyundai tuscon eco 1.6lt SUV is a danger to myself and other vehicles on the road. What is my recourse on this continuous transmission problem" it has about 11K in mileage. Can this vehicle be lemon law'd as I have owned it for under a year"

Vehicle hesitates, jerks, jumps when starting up from a slow or stopped position. When crossing traffic, turning left, I have to be certain I have plenty of room in case the car hesitates. Extremely unsafe! I purchased the car 7/29/2016 and I have had the car into the dealership 5 times for the same problem since then. The first 4 times I had the car in they updated the transmission software. On one occasion there had been an actual recall, however it did not fix the problem. On the last time I had the car in, I asked the service manager to ride with me. The car did hesitate, jerk coming out of a stop at a stop sign and he told me that was how the transmission was supposed to act and that I needed to learn how to drive the car. It would preform better in the sport mode. The car continues to repeat the same hesitation on an almost daily basis. I will be contacting Hyundai corporate to see if vehicle is covered under lemon law.

I purchased the car in November 2015. I always had a slight jerking of the car while in traffic or taking off from a stop sign. I would say towards the end of the summer of 2016 it got much worse. To the point where I'm terrified to drive it in traffic. I commute almost 40 miles each way to work every day and my heart is in my throat every time I'm behind the wheel in traffic afraid I'm going to get rear ended. Hyundai came out with the recall on the dct (dual clutch transmission) that was suppose to fix the problem. I had my car serviced for the recall in October 2016 and it never fixed the problem. I brought it in to get serviced again on April 1, 2017 for the same exact recall and here I am again still having the same problem. I have a infant and I am terrified to have my family in this car.

After a stop and when you step on the gas to go, the car will hesitate, sometimes for 3 to 4 seconds. This has happen about 7 or 8 times. It is a bad feeling when this happen when pulling out into traffic. Have been to the dealer and service manger has rode with me, but we can not duplicate when he is in the car. I have about 7,000 miles on the car. The car's computer has been reset twice so far, no help yet.

I have entered a complaint here a few month ago. I had my hyudai in the shop for 2 months waiting for computer updates to the transmission. After having the updates, the car seemed to run fine for a while. I am now again having issues with hesitation. I was almost rear-ended again pulling away from a traffic light. I was told by the dealership that they are seeing when you drive with the car in eco mode that there is hesitation. Problem is, I never use any of the modes.... their answer well either call hyudai, or deal with it............... this has been going on for almost a year now.

When I accelerate there is no power for 1-2 seconds, and this is not the same thing as the slight delay experienced as the car changes gears. It is a complete lack of power even when the gas pedal is pushed. Very alarming. The problem is becoming more frequent over the past two months of use (1st time in January - later times in Feb. And March--winter in the midatlantic region). Happens at slower speeds (accelerating at 25-30mph to cross lanes of city traffic), and it happens at higher speeds (accelerating at 50-65mph to merge into interstate highway traffic or overtake a slower car in same lane on interstate). Because I do not drive the car very often, and most of my trips are at slow speeds for short distances, I initially overlooked/dismissed the problem. But is it becoming more noticeable (longer period without acceleration power), more frequent (occurs more often when using the car) and dangerous (can happen anywhere, any time and at any speed). I suspect I am reporting this problem later than other Tucson car owners because I do not drive much. I've owned the car for 11 months and it has 3,700 miles on it. Problems started showing up around 3,500 miles.

Dealer has tried to fix car three times. At times car will not accelerate at all.engine RPM will increase but car will not move. Since purchasing the vehicle in November 2015, the vehicle has had difficulty shifting at lower speeds and accelerating at higher speeds. Initially, the dealership told me I just needed to get used to driving a turbo. I have had all three updates done to the dual-clutch transmission. Afterwards, in January 2017, while driving in the city, the vehicle dropped into neutral between first and second gear. The rpms revved up to 4, but the vehicle had a sudden loss of forward momentum. Because I was in heavy traffic, this presented a safety hazard to me. The dealership re-performed the December 2016 update the first part of February 2017 and caused a full system failure requiring manual reprogramming. It then released the vehicle back to me. After two days, the same thing happened while driving in the city. I was again in heavy traffic and afraid about being rear-ended. When the car reengaged after these failures, it then surged forward. The problem is intermittent and therefore unpredictable and unsafe. The dealership informed me it has not been unable to duplicate the problem and thus has nothing to fix. Additionally, it has been in touch with Hyundai corporate whose position is that the problem was fixed with the December 2016 update. And, since the dealer hasn't duplicated it, they have no further obligation to me. According to the dealership, Hyundai corporate knows of no other car in the nation still having transmission problems after the December 2016 update. In addition to my complaint, please review nhsta 10948958, 10939802, 10938874, 10939196, and 10946886 to test the credibility of its assertion.

Issue with the dct transmission on the 2016 Hyundai Tucson sport. After the first update the issue seemed to happen less often which was completed back in September. New update in January has made the issue more prevalent again though not as bad as when originally bought. Issue is noticeable hesitation when pulling out from a stop, especially if turning from a stop or pulling out quickly. Rps will rev and then car will finally match rpms and take off suddenly.

Vehicle stalls and develops a "no go" situation. The engine revs, but transmission will not engage. It mostly occurs while pulling away from a stop sign, or at very slow speeds. It also has a vibration, and jerks and bucks at low speeds, such as while you are driving through a parking lot. I have been stuck in the middle of intersections with oncoming traffic many times. It is a very unsafe and dangerous condition. Both the dealership and Hyundai continue to ignore the problem. I continue to seek a resolution through Hyundai.

Has an eco boost/sport mode transmission. When starting from a stop, such as at a red light, stop sign or evenaccelerating from a slow down there is a lag in the engagement of gears that causes the vehicle to "stall" in the intersection. It revs and feels as if there is power, the transmission just doesn't engage. It creates an inability to move the vehicle while in traffic or while entering traffic. This is very similar to, if not identical to the transmission recall announced in 8/30/2016 for, I believe, the same transmission in other models of the 2016 Hyundai Tucson.

Had recall 16-01-057 performed at local Hyundai dealer in hackettstown and since then have had multiple issues with it not moving when at a traffic light like transmission is slipping and then it grabs and almost causes accident..dealer says that recall would not make it do this and when they drive say there are no issues.there are multiple other people on internet having same issue, so not something I am making up. When is something going to be done about this before someone is killed.
