When you accelerate from a complete stop, there is a major delay. Sometimes it is so bad that you can barely make it through a traffic light before it turns red again. There have been multiple times were we were almost hit due to this major delay. This is a major safety issue. We have had it in the shop 4 times and it is going in for a 5th time. They are saying that it is the design of the transmission, and there is nothing they can do to repair it.

I purchased a brand new 2017 Tucson night and have experienced serious issues with the dual clutch transmission. There is a long hesitation when attempting to accelerate from a stop, making a turn or when "coasting". there have been occasions where the vehicle was not responsive at all when pressing on the gas. This is particularly dangerous when at a busy intersection with oncoming traffic coming at you. I have taken it to my local dealership twice now and am told they cannot diagnose a problem and that what I am experiencing is "typical for a dct". this is not an acceptable response and it's a matter of time until this issue causes an accident or death. I do not feel safe driving this vehicle and am very unhappy with Hyundai's apparent lack of concern.

Six month old car....car hesitates when you press on the gas petal from a stop. Must give yourself a more than normal amount of room to pull out into traffic just in case the car hesitates as to not get into an accident. Also while driving thru a christmas display (very slow moving, stop and go traffic) with my family including a five year old child the transmission high temp alarm came up on the car and we could smell how hot it was getting. Had to pull over to the side of the road and shut the car off for a while in very cold temperatures at night with our young daughter. Waited a while started the car up and then it wouldn't shift right. Made an appointment with the dealer (hazleton pa auto mall) I purchased the car from to have it look at. At the appointment I was told by a man and women at the service desk that the overheating is a normal reaction to stop and go traffic. Never had a brand new car with 7000 miles on it overheat and leave me sitting on the side of the road. Tuscan's with the dual clutch transmission are a danger to the owners, their families and the public in general.

The transmission does not engage or delays to engage in low gears. The problem is very prevalent under hot temperatures changes in inlines. Most often the issue occurs off the line and when merging into traffic. The issue is described on their own website bye dozens of Hyundai Tucson owners www.Hyundai-forums.com/2016-Tucson-IX35-models/454074-dangerous-horrible-dct-209.html the company is well aware of the issues but claims it's driving habits and not faulty design. The service manager stated that he has had dozens of complaints but has not heard of any resolutions. This is a very dangerous design flaw that has caused more than near accident senario. The issue was addressed from the first day that I that I purchased the vehicle but has been brushed off and Hyundai refuses to address the issue

While the vehicle is in drive, the vehicle has a habit of being hesitant while being given gas. For example, at a stop sign or traffic light, when I give the vehicle some gas to get going, it is unresponsive at that moment. If I give it a little more gas, the vehicle jolts forward as if I floored it. This happens in sport mode as well as eco mode, although I am able to get a little more responsiveness in sport mode. This issue happens more on city streets seeing as that's the most common place where the vehicle is required to stop and go.

Not all the times but, Hyundai Tucson 2017 hesitates when starting from a stop. Even though I hit accelerator, the car does not move for few seconds and suddenly it shoots like a jet. (stop and go situation) it happens usually in the morning after first start up. This symptom is exactly same as 2016 Hyundai Tucson which has been already recalled because of "hesitation when starting from a stop"

Hesitation on acceleration, from a stop may accelerate or sit there. I see there are already 29 complaints of the same thing and in 2016 there were 108 complaints for the dry type dual clutch transmission (dct) application logic mine 1.6 turbo. Use sport mode not S fix nor solution. Recall #149 in 2016 fix? some one will die!

I never used a forum before so I hope this goes in the right place for the topic. Dct transmission I purchased a 2017 Tucson after 12 year with a Honda CRV that just needed normal maintenance. 308000 miles when it started to show signs of major issues. I can say I truly regret not just repairing it because the Tucson even though it has some upto date features and the ride is a great once is gets going has a horrible transmission problem that I fear is going to get me in an accident. The cars transmission stutters and chatters at low speeds like it can't decide which gear it wants to be in. On quick accelerations it hesitates so badly that I have time to remove my foot from the gas and apply the brake then it lurches forward and once I brake the engine is still racing. On top of this this is random. Once it will do it the next time it is fine. I drive in very high traffic areas and someone seeing this movement of the car is going to miss interpret my intentions and I wont be able to move when I want and traffic is going to slam into me. Really feel that this car is going to get me in a bad accident or even kill me. I have gone to the dealership 2 times and they say everything is within specs. They suggested using sportmode but I bought the car for the gas mileage that it gets. You lose 3 to 5 gallons per mile in sports mode and it still doesn't fix all the problems. The chatter is a bit less, but the car is always shifting. The quick acceleration on to a high way seems more consistent, but it shifts constantly when just driving down the road. You can feel it constantly shift even if you barely let off the gas. All of these things you can't find out when you test drive the car and now I feel like I am stuck with keep a car that I will never trust. If anyone has a solution please let me know.

Purchased 2017 Tucson eco (1.6L turbo with dual clutch transmission (dct)) about 6 months ago. 2016 model year was recalled for dct throttle response issues. I have the same lack of throttle response with my vehicle. The issue has happened nearly 10 times which started at approximately 150 miles on the brand new vehicle. From a stop or even at highway speeds, the engine/transmission does not respond when accelerator is fully compressed. Has been in for repair twice and Hyundai claims there is "nothing wrong with the vehicle". the situation is reported by many others and mirrors the recall from 2016. Horribly dangerous defect and Hyundai refuses to buy back or trade the vehicle. I have initiated a claim with the better business bureau and a lemon law lawyer. This vehicle is dangerous.

There was a recall from 2016 Tucson for a dual clutch gearbox issue. I am experiencing same issues with 2017. When I take my foot off the brake from a stop and allow the car to idle as slow speed the transmission and car sputters and creates hesitation and jerking when gas pedal is applied. This is a risk of safety especially when making intersection turns. I brought this to the attention of my dealer and they said that no fix exists. Problem has been occurring almost since day 1 and I am currently around 13K miles

Feb 102017

Tucson

When the vehicle is at a stop or slowed speed and you go to accelerate there is a failure with the dual clutch and/or turbo engine transmission which delays you from accelerating at an expected speed. The car will hesitate when trying to engage from a stationary position. The engine also will spike the tachometer without increasing speed, creating a revving noise with no forward acceleration. On more than one occasion the gas pedal was pressed to the floor of the vehicle without proper increase of speed. These repetitive errors occur at low speeds/gears. The vehicle was in stopped traffic on the highway and when the gas was pressed to accelerate a few feet the engine revved without moving forward.

I am currently leasing a 2017 Hyundai Tucson, love the car, but do not feel safe while driving it! it never fails when I need to accelerate to turn left, or onto a traffic filled road, I have no acceleration. The car literally hesitates as if it is going to die and I start to panic that I am going to get hit! I can accelerate just fine from a complete stop at a traffic light, or railroad tracks as it happens more when I am in a coasting mode and I try to accelerate. I had it to the Hyundai dealership once already and they could not duplicate the problem. I am taking it in again and will once again bring it to their attention. I previously owned, and traded in, a 2003 Santa Fe and never experienced anything like this.

This is the second filing of a complaint related to ongoing problems with Hyundai Tucson dct transmission. I have now returned to the dealer three times to fix this problem and it continues. Yesterday, September 19, at approximately 5:25pm, in wellfleet, MA., I was turning out from a store along rt. 6, and my car suddenly began jerking, causing me to lose speed. It was raining with a lot of traffic. I almost had an accident as a car was coming down rt. 6! I do not feel safe in this car. The attempts by Hyundai to address this dct transmission issue with "software updates" are not working! please do something about it! thank you.

Since I bought this 2017 Hyundai Tucson in Oct, 2016, I've had ongoing problems with the dct transmission, even after Hyundai installed their "software update." I've visited the dealer twice to address the problem, and plan another visit this Friday. However, the last service rep I spoke to said, if I'm "still having these problems after the software update, there's really nothing else we can do at the dealership." This ongoing transmission problem is a serious safety issue! this week, for example, there have been two instances where I almost had an accident due to the transmission failing to shift and stalling, causing delayed acceleration. (the current milage on car is 12,559.) on Monday of this week, September 4, the car sat in driveway until about 3:42pm. (it was 74 degrees out and humid day.) I pull out of drive way and the car jerks as I accelerate. I drove to intersection of old wharf rd. And rt. 6 on cape cod. Rt.6 is a very busy highway, especially on labor day. I pull out of intersection to take a left, and the car transmission suddenly fails to shift causing me to lose significant speed. I barely get out in time as a car comes up on me from behind and almost hits me!! I could have had a serious accident! similarly, yesterday, September 6, the car has not been driven all day, the car jerks again as I leave my drive way and as I stop and turn onto old wharf rd. I go to a local store on rt. 6 highway about 1 mile away. As I'm leaving store, I accelerate fast get get on highway. There is a car coming. My car suddenly loses power again due to failure to shift and I am almost hit by the car as I get on the highway! I do not feel safe in this vehicle!! Hyundai's attempts to fix this dct transmission problem is not working! something has to be done about it soon before individuals or families get seriously injured!

I purchased a 2017 Hyundai Tucson December 2016. The following campaigns are on my vehicle and hundreds of thousands of other Hyundai's: mfr campaign/safety recall notice: T1B manufacturer campaign id: T1B 2016-17 Tucson dct control logic update I took my vehicle to Hyundai on June 28th for this recall. Right away I noticed a change in how the vehicle drove. However not even a month later the vehicle started driving like it did prior to the "fix". a complete stop to acceleration is not smooth, the vehicle jerks extremely hard and sometimes doesn't respond. Other times it doesn't reapond and then all of a sudden the vehicle takes off. Trying to accelerate to merge onto the freeway or into any flow of traffic is almost impossible without a close call with another vehicle. This car is unsafe and scary to drive. Not to mention driving in stop and go traffic has become a "when will I cause an accident" moment because of the stop to acceleration lag, jerk and then random acceleration which almost redlines. I have never been in a car accident and I can tell you this vehicle is unsafe for all those on the highway, including myself and the vehicle has become a complete nuisance to drive. My understanding is Hyundai has claimed they have fixed this issue with a simple update, and the 2017S should be okay, however the way my vehicle drives would arguably disagree and prove that to be wrong. Hyundai needs to open a full recall of these vehicles until the problem is resolved before people get killed because of it. If not those deaths will be on Hyundai hands.
