Car maintenance has been well kept. Road in DC, hit pothole suddenly engine started to make horrible noise and stalled out in the middle of traffic. No tapping noise before this incident. All of a sudden metal in oil and was towed to Hyundai dealership. Dealership told me my engine seized. As a single mom this is not a reliable or safe. I was only going 35mpg. If this happened at a higher speed or on a highway this could of been a fatal incident.

4 can shafts exploded and the oil was blowing out of the exhaust. Causing the catalytic converter to fail early as well.

The first issue was the clutch. I was driving in charlotte, nc city traffic and the clutch stuck to the floor and made my car stall. I was able to pull it up with my foot and restart the car. I had no indication that the clutch was bad. It wasn't slipping at all and I had no difficulty shifting gears prior to this happening. The next issue was the engine. I was driving on the highway and it lost power. It wouldn"T accelerate properly. I took it to the dealer and they said the turbo went first and then metal from the turbo went into the engine and ruined the engine. They said the clutch needed replacing. The car doesn't even have 71,000 miles on it. I wouldn't expect an engine to be ruined at less than 71,000 miles. I was terrified being in traffic in this unsafe vehicle wondering if I was going to be hit. The entrance below asks for a specific date, here are the occurrences and dates: June 2019 clutch sticks to the floor and stalls in traffic several times. Take to aaa auto services as soon as it happens and they can find nothing wrong. Continues to happen approx. Once a week. Sept 12 the engine starts whining, revving and losing power all at the same time when the gas pedal is pressed while in traffic on the highway Sept 13 check engine light comes on and nav screen stopped responding and doesn't have much power Sept 14 even further power loss, smoke coming from exhaust, car stalls and stops while in charlotte city traffic. Take to dealer. Diagnosed with stated above.

Engine was making increased noise and loss of gas mileage. Dealer assured vehicle checked out ok. Less than 2,000 miles later at 101,000 engine 'threw a rod' while being driven on neighborhood roads. Hyundai refuses to cover reconditioned engine replacement. Offered less than half of cost.

The car as I would describe it stalls randomly while driving under 40 mph, the engine doesn't shut off but I lose drive power and the RPM shoot up. The dealership has not been able to reproduce the issue and no engine lights come on when the problem happens. I fear this will end up causing me to get rear ended.

I haven't had many troubles with steering like others have however I have had problems where the car doesn't immediately go into gear. I can start the car and it takes up to a minute to go into gear and every once in awhile I have that problem when switching over neutral (ie. Going from park or reverse to drive or vice versa) another problem I'm having troubles with is the electronics. When I go to back up the rear camera appears for 1 or 2 seconds then goes to the radio. Its nearly an everyday thing. Sometime the radio, discs, or media player will play music but will be silenced and I have to change the mode and switch it back before it will play. Has nothing to do with the volume I have tried that. Also recently my clock has started to reset every time I turn the car on. It resets to 11:10. Everything except the clock has been happening for months and I cant get anything done unless I pay. Which I refuse because it shouldn't be my problem.

I purchased my 2014 Veloster turbo right off of the showroom floor. When I was driving home, 90 miles from the dealership, I noticed it was really hard to keep my car straight in the road. I physically have to force my car to stay straight on the straightest highways. I took it to the dealership the next day and it was found to be out of alignment. They aligned it, only to experience the same issue driving back home. I have now had my vehicle in to 3 different Hyundai dealerships and have records of the adjustments. It is still not aligned making it very difficult to drive safely. At 5K miles we were driving on a road trip and had been driving all day. We were getting back on the interstate and my check engine light started flashing and my car started slowing down even though I was trying to accelerate. It cleared up and I drove a few more miles when it acted up again, this at 65 mph. Same issues flashing lights, slowing from 65 to 30 as my car felt it was not getting any power. I was able to report it to my bluelink, although it did not show on their end. This has been checked several times by Hyundai, although they are not able to detect or duplicate the issue. It continues to happen to me. I am to the point where I am frightened to drive it anymore. Not only for my safety but for others as well. I have a total of 7 service records with no answers except, if it happens again come right in and hopefully the computer will tell us. The alignment was done 5 times and took in 6, although it is still all over the road. The answer I get for the alignment now is, " customer may also not be used to electronic steering system". I am a 43 year old man that has been driving for almost 30 years. I have another vehicle with electronic steering that drives straight on the same roads. Thanks for your time...
