While sitting static for a number of hours the fuel tank leaks fuel. This problem is on the 2010 4.2 liter engine Xf model. Every morning I noticed a small puddle of fuel under the passenger side near the rear tire. Additionally, when trying to start the vehicle the engine struggles to start (as if not getting enough fuel). After lifting the vehicle up fuel can be seen coming from the top of the tank.

Gas was smelling all though the car and proceeded to leak from under car after towed away. At the dealership, the car had gas leaking under it on the ground when I went to retrieve items out of car. Dealership said it would cost 36,000. Plus to fix. Car is still sitting at dealership with no solution. I felt we were fortunate to get out of car alive because I felt it could have exploded. Dealership says it was water pump, but engine was never torn down to determine that.

I bought the car for $26,000 in January 2014 from galpin Honda in mission hills and I currently owe $24,000 on it. I just don't see how this could be right.
