The contact owned a 2017 Jeep Cherokee. While the contact's spouse was driving 65 mph, the service shifter warning indicator illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle accelerated independently and then shifted into park independently. The vehicle became uncontrollable, spun around several times, and crashed into a tractor trailer. The contact stated that the air bags failed to deploy. The contact's spouse sustained a bruised knee and a concussion, but did not seek medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to an auto body shop. We were stopped in traffic and braked and was hit from the rear by a vehicle going between 50-60mph on a freeway and in turn we were pushed into a vehicle in front of us. Damage resulted in the back, front, and left side of the vehicle. No airbags were deployed. Powder from the airbags released and filled our vehicle but the airbags never deployed. The vehicle was brand new and we had it for two weeks. My husband, myself, and my 3 month old were in the vehicle during the collision.
