Takata recall my Jeep Commander has been nothing but trouble since I purchased it I have had all the recalls done by my local Jeep dealership and still have to constantly replace wheel speed (ABS) sensors and reprogram the computer. At low speeds off aproxamitly 15-20 mph I loose power like the vehicle is trying to starve itself from fuel affecting accelerate so if you pull out into a intersection it practically dies and the. When you go to brake the pedal gets hard and the vehicle keeps rolling I have to replace all 4 wheel sensor (ABS) and get computer reprogrammed for it to stop costing hundreds of dollars to do over the time that I have owned the vehicle I have learned to perform such task on my own. But I am sick and tired of every summer having to buy 4 50 dollar sensors and getting charged 125 dollars to redo the computer and not to mention when the Jeep decides to act up it put my child and mother to my child in serious danger never knowing when it will misfunction again and like many others I am upside down on the payments of the vehicle due to all the money invested.

When driving on the highway the vehicles engine just stops. Power steering is gone if you have to maneuver out of the way it's very difficult when decelerating it seems to down shift very hard like going form 4th to 1st the dash lights flash randomly when ever they feel like it. I've been thru 3 fan speed controls fir the heater this has been happening for the last 2 years

The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. I purchased the vehicle in 2010 and within a month some electrical issues were intermittently occurring. The dealer said the ignition had to be replaced and did so. These problems seemed to continue thought not often. The symptoms are as follows-first the lights start flickering and then go out. All of the dash components go out including the speedometer, fuel gage, radio etc. The ac fan also turned off. This condition did not stop the vehicle from running it just turned off the electrical components there was however a problem with stalling, a separate issue from the electrical issue., a few times while in the vehicle was stopped it would stall when stopping or starting off again. This was true in reverse and forward. I was never really worried about safety until last night when the lights went out while driving on a dark curvy country road. It was only for a few seconds but it was terrifying. This issue needs to be dealt with. In 2015 there were several recalls issued and they seemed to be related to the problems I was having. I had all of the recall notices dealt with. The software upgrades and the ignition replacement. This didn't solve the problem. In fact

Stalling problems while driving. This issue has been going on for over a year now, I was told by Jeep to get P41 recall repaired and possibly fix the problem. I've had P41 done and the same problem keeps happening. Everything just completely shuts down and I am unable to steer and have to restart the engine. This has happened to me numerous of times including driving on the freeway. I've contacted Jeep customer service, I was told I was the only one they know of regarding this issue which is not true. Another problem is dashboard lights will light up on and off while driving. All light indicators will stay on for period of time until car is restarted again.

This vehicle was recalled for the ignition switch experiencing an unintended change in ignition switch position and because the ignition switch was loose made it difficult at times to start and remain running. The vehicle was taken in for recall work and was supposedly fixed, however upon picking it up the vehicle was difficult to start and the dealership stated it was because of the new ignition system and that you had to press and turn the key just right for it to start. This condition only worsened the next week and eventually the car would not start at all. When the vehicle was towed to the dealership they started the starter and the wiring to the starter was fried and that it had nothing to do with the ignition replacement and said it would cost over $800 to repair!!!

The dealer informed the contact that the NHTSA campaign number: 08V203000 (power train) for the year, make, model, and failure were similar because the investigation involved the 4.7L V-8 engine. The contact's vehicle was equipped with a 5.7L V-8 engine. The manufacturer was unable to provide a recall repair. The manufacturer opened a case on the contact's behalf regarding the vehicle. The approximate failure mileage was 110,000.

The car jumps and then stalls when it is idling in reverse or drive. It also will accelerate on its own and the brakes are hard to press. This happens when the lighting bolt appears and the anti side lights on the dash, then the care either doesn't respond to pressing the gas and is harder to press the brakes. I have to restart the car for it to work. This all began after recalls being updated, it has been diagnosed as my power train control modual and that it has been recalled in other vehicles for the same reasons but there is no recall attached to my VIN according to Chrysler. Ive done research online and numerous other Jeep Commanders and other Jeep modules made around the same time are having the same issue. The problem is on going and has been for over a year but has gotten much worse after fixing of recalls a few months ago. The date below is estimate of when the recall was fixed.
