Air bag light comes on and stays on, this is a safty problem because the air bags will not deploy if I was in a accident.
- Hill Afb , UT, USA
Consumer's vehicle was at a stop sign when it was rear ended. Consumer's vehicle hit the vehicle in front. Upon impact, bags did not deploy. According to his physician, if the air bags did not deploy, the consumer would have gotten a fractured spine. There was police report. Consumer has soft tissue injuries and his son was going to be taken for X-rays today.

Consumer has a Jeep Grand Cherokee, 1999. The air bag light comes on intermittently. He found some recalls on a Dodge truck with similar problems. When he makes a turn or goes over a bump the air bag light comes on. The dealership told him to call dealership to resolve the problem. The manufacturer informed the consumer that there were no recalls or tsb regarding the problem and that it was the consumer's responsibility to have the vehicle repaired. He is concerned that if he is involved in an accident that the air bags will not work.

I own a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The air bag light and alarm goes off constantly. Jeep dealer reported a break in "clock spring" in steering colum. Says it is a common probelm. Jeep will not fix. Cost is $186. I think this common probelm is a design flaw and causes an unnecessary distraction while driving.
- Newport News, VA, USA
Consumer states that airbag light keeps coming on, indicating that airbags will not deploy. Dealer checked airbag module.
- Alma, AR, USA
Consumer states while traveling at 45 mph, consumer swerved to avoid an object in the road ans lost control of the vehicle, vehicle rolled, and none of the airbags deployed.
- Johnston, RI, USA
The ABS warning light illuminated. The air bag light also illuminated. The dealer replaced the clock spring.
- Mobile, AL, USA
Problems with the ABS system. The vehicle to was in a collision and none of the air bags deployed. Dealer was not contacted at the time of the call.
- Chadds Ford, PA, USA
The air bag warning light & chime went on for no apparent reason. The dealer first replaced the "air bag" computer and, on a second repair visit a "clock spring" and charged me a total of $600 for these repairs. I don't feel I should have to pay for repairs for this safety item. Failure of the air bag computer could result in the failure of the air bags to deploy in a front crash.
- Skokie, IL, USA
Airbag light illuminating every ten seconds on and off. Consumer feels unsafe driving under these conditions.
- Mc Clean, VA, USA
The vehicle exhibits a sag/hesitation following a partial cool down restart, possibly an oxygen sensor problem. While making hard left turns at slow speeds (such as a U-turn), the airbag warning light illuminates and a audible chime is activated. The right side brake light assembly is burnt (internally) due to some kind of electrical overheating. The vehicle shifts hard, misses shifts, shifts repeatedly at constant speed and on a level grade. The rear differantial "bumps" very hard within 3-20 seconds of coming to a complete stop. An immovable "fog" has developed on the lenses of the composite headlight assemblies.
