My 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee heater/ac blend doors are stuck. I cannot defrost. This causes dangerous situations where the wind screen is fogged, and I cannot see the road.
- Kentfield, CA, USA
Cold air blows out of defroster vents, even when setting is turned up to high heat.
- Topeka, KS, USA
Windshield defroster failure.
- Middle River, MD, USA
Front windshield and passenger side windows fogging. Ac making lots of noises. Smell of coolant inside vehicle.
- Derry, NH, USA
There was no heat on passenger side due to blend door failure. Therefore defrosting the windshield properly was not possible. This was followed shortly by a leaking heater core which filled the car with coolant mist during vehicle operation. The blend doors assemblies were replaced along with the heater core to solve the problems.
- Worcester, MA, USA
The defroster doesn't work correctly due to the blend doors failing to open when needed. I see this as a very dangerous safety issue in cold/icy weather here in new england. It seem to be a common problem after speaking with the Jeep service people and other Grand Cherokee owners.
- North Branford, CT, USA
Blend air doors for ac/heat fail and cause loss of heat and windshield to fog up. Been serviced and replaced twice along with ac/heat controller.
- Aliso Viejo, CA, USA
My heater and defroster does not work. This is known problem related to the blend door failure with Jeep Grand Cherokee with dual climate control. This is very dangerous in icy weather.
- Hoover, AL, USA
Heating system worked fine until warm air suddenly stopped blowing out of vents. Took the vehicle to the dealership and they said this was a common problem that they probably do about 3 or 4 a week. Total repair bill was $780. I didn't have this kind of money and it apparently was never recalled, just tsb. It has been two winters now driving with extremely fogged windows due to no heat. Jeep has done nothing to help with this huge expense.
