I received the brake booster recall notice a couple of months ago. I took my Jeep to the dealership for an oil change and mentioned the recall so it could be inspected. Upon leaving I was told they had to order parts which were on back order and would be a couple of months. I was under the impression that my vehicle was still safe to drive, but Wednesday July 2nd the booster failed during rush hour at highway speeds. I was very lucky not to hit/injure/kill anyone as traffic slowed and I couldn't. I managed to get to the shoulder and coast to a stop, but what if I couldn't? of all things to fail on a vehicle the brakes shouldn't be one. If my vehicle wasn't safe to drive then I never should of been sent out of the dealer with it. I am now stuck in a rental while I wait for my vehicle to be repaired with no eta. I contacted Jeep customer service, but have not received a response.
