Common problem. Jeep should really fix this TIPM module failure.

While driving down the road the Jeep dies! I could not restart it! Had to call a tow truck as I was blocking traffic. The TIPM plus both fuel pumps were out! I had to wait a month for the TIPM while borrowing a vehicle as the dealership did not offer a loaner! Now the constant velocity joint is out and once again I am without a vehicle!

DEAR SIR.
WE HAVE BOUGHT MY CAR AFTER FEELING A VERY BIG TRUST OF YOUR CARS AND YOUR TRADE MARK.
IT IS NOT ONLY ME THAT BOUGHT THIS CAR., WE HAVE ANOTHER 4 CARS JEEP CHEROKEE 2011 IN MY FAMILY IN OUR COUNTRY EGYPT, THEN OUR TRUST TO YOU IS UNLIMITED!!.
I USED TO MAKE SERVICE TO MY CAR IN THE SERVICE AGENT REGULARLY( 10000 KM - 20000 KM ).
AND THE LAST SERVICE WAS IN 19/11/2011 .,I HAD NO PROBLEM BY THAT.
MY PROBLEMS STARTS ON 22/11/2011 ( AFTER 3 DAYS OF SERVICE ) THAT DUE TO SOME WATER ABOUT 30 : 50 CM HIGHS WHERE BLOCKED SOMEWHERE IN MY CITY,
I STOPPED BEFORE GOING ON IN THAT WATER THINKING AND WATCHING WHAT TO DO, I FOUND THAT MANY CARS ( SEDAN CARS ) ARE PASSING THIS WATER PEACEFULLY WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM.
I STARTED TO MOVE SLOWLY BY SPEED ABOUT 25KM/H SUDDENLY THE CAR ENGINE STOPPED AFTER PASSING ABOUT 10 METERS OF THAT WATER WITHOUT ANY REASON AND I SAW THE OTHER SEDAN SMALL CARS ARE MOVING AROUND ME WITH NO PROBLEM.
I TRIED TO RUN THE ENGINE AGAIN BUT THERE WAS NO CHANCE.
I DECIDED TO TRY TO GO OUT OF FORM MY CAR THINKING THAT I CAN DO ANYTHING ALTHOUGH THAT I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT ENGINES AND CAR SERVICE ( THAT'S NOT MY JOB ) !!. LITTLE WATER ENTERED THE CAR , IT MEANS THAT THE WATER WAS UNDER THE DOOR LIMIT.
IMMEDIATELY I KNEW THAT MY CAR IS NOT GOING TO RUN AGAIN BEFORE VISITING HER SERVICE.,
I CALLED MY BROTHER WHO HAVE TOYOTA COROLLA 2010 TO BULL ME , AT THE BEGGING HE REFUSED TO DO THIS DUE O MY CAR IS MUCH BIGGER TAN HIM AND IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO DO THIS, BUT FINALLY HE ENTERED BY HIS CAR TO THE SAME WATER AND HE STARTED TO BULL ME.
THEN I HAVE CONTACT MY SERVICE AGENT( ABU GHALY ) AND HE ACCEPTED THE CAR TO CHECK THE PROBLEM AND FINALLY THE ANSWER OF THE SERVICE AGENT THAT THE CAR NEEDS A NEW ENGINE PARTS AND IT IS NOT UNDER THE WARRANTY COVERING BECAUSE THE WATER CAME IN THE CAR FROM THE AIR FILTER HOLE.,
IF IT IS LOGICAL TO HAPPEN WHAT IS MY MISTAKE THAT THE SERVICE MAN IN THE AGENT DID NOT CLOSE THE AIR FILTER DOOR CORRECTLY AFTER MAKING THE LAST SERVICE.
THERE IS NO REASON THAT I OPEN IT OR DO SOMETHING WITH IT BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN IN THE SERVICE FEW DAYS BEFORE PROBLEM HAPPEN.
ALSO, IF HE CLOSED IT CORRECTLY IS THAT MEANS THAT IF I TRY TO WASH THE ENGINE THE WATER SHOULD COME IN THE CAR FROM THAT AIR FILTER HOLE!!!. UN LOGICAL.
I HAVE COMPLAINED WITH CHRYSLER EGYPT AND THEY HAVE NOT GAVE ME ANY ANSWER EXCEPT THAT THEY WILL NOT COVER THE SERVICE COST.
AT THIS POINT I TRIED TO CONTACT YOU IN ORDER TO HELP ME TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM FRIENDLY WITHOUT INTERFERING THE LEGAL PARTIES IN MY COUNTRY.
WE HAVE BOUGHT YOUR CARS AFTER VERY BIG INVESTIGATION , IT IS THE MOST EXPENSIVE CAR OF CHEROKEE. HOW COULD BE THIS PROBLEM HAPPEN!!!. SPECIALLY I HAVE SEE THE VIDEO OF THE SAME CAR ON YOU TUBE AND I CAN SEE IT SWIMMING IN THE SEA!.
THANKS FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING AND LOOKING FORWARD TO HEAR FROM YOU SOON.
THANKS & BEST REGARDS. ABELFEKY

I was driving on Rt 95 today, in the fast lane and all of a sudden the car shut down. I had no power. There was barely room for me to pull over. It took 2 tries before the car restarted. I felt a jerk, and ironically the check engine light , due to the exhaust issue, went off and the car ran fine. Strike three for this vehicle. Since it's a holiday weekend, I don't have a dealership or customer service to report the problem too.

THERE WERE ELECTRICAL FAILURES LEADING UP TO THE COMPLETE ELECTRICAL AND ENGINE SYSTEM SHUTTING DOWN WHILE DRIVING. AFTER BEING TO THE DEALER FOR SERIOUS VIBRATION AND COUNTLESS OTHER ISSUES, INCLUDING REMOTE START NEEDING COMPLETE REPLACEMENT AND TONS OF SOFTWARE UPDATES AND WAS STILL NOT FIXED!!!!!!! ELECTRICAL FAILURES STARTED WITH KEY AND KEY FOB NOT FUNCTIONING, WHICH CAUSED VEHICLE TO BE INOPERATIVE. THE MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN OCCURRED WHEN VEHICLE COMPLETELY STOPPED FUNCTIONING WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH ON I-75, DOWN THE MOUNTAINS WITH A TRAILER ON THE BACK. ALL HEADLIGHTS AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SHUT DOWN, POWER STEERING DISABLED, BRAKES LOCKED, ENGINE DEAD. HAZARDS WOULDN'T WORK AND THIS WAS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN WHEN VEHICLE IS STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD, WITH NO LIGHTS AND IT WAS AFTER MIDNIGHT FOR US. WE SEE ANOTHER IDENTICAL COMPLAINT HERE FROM ANOTHER JEEP OWNER. WE HAVE AN ATTORNEY TRYING TO GO THRU THE LEMON LAW, BUT THAT MAY NOT PAN OUT. IT SEEMS LIKE A LOT OF CONSUMERS COULD/WILL BE AT SERIOUS RISK WITH THIS VEHICLE. ESPECIALLY FOR FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN. AND IT'S BEEN TO 2 DEALERSHIPS FOR NUMEROUS REPAIRS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When my service representative called me to explain the problem, he sounded well rehearsed. So, I did some googling only to find that this is a very common problem. There is a class action lawsuit underway claiming that Jeep has known about the faulty TIPMs and continues to install them into new cars.
