My Jeep has developed several large wrinkles on the top of the dashboard cover. I've seen comments from other Jeep owners that have the same problem. My concern is that the wrinkles in and stiffness of the dashboard cover might interfere with the deployment of the passenger-side airbag.

On Aug. 29 2017 my airbag light came on. I took the vehicle to mullane motors in lockport NY, for repair. I was told a side impact air bag sensor had shorted out and needed replacing, and spent $332.57 to have it fixed. When I arrived to pick up my Jeep, I was told that the same sensor was still 'shorting out' and that standard operating procedure was to replace the occupant restraint control module. I asked when that could be completed and was told that the 'part is unavailable, ' in any way shape or form, and that it was unknown when or if at all this part would ever be available. I telphoned Fiat Chrysler Corp in auburn hills, mi concerning this issue, and was told the same thing, that the part is 'currently unavailable and on national back order' was given a case number, and was told I would be called back in 24 to 48 hours. No one called me back. I telephoned the company again a week later and was again told someone would call me back in 24 to 48 hours. It has now been a week, and I have not heard from Chrysler. At this time, my airbag light is still on, and it is indicated in my owners manual that my airbags may not function in a collision, which I feel makes my vehicle unsafe to drive.

Airbag warning light comes on intermittently. It was on when I was at the dealer so the service consultant could check the codes. He suggested there is something wrong inside the front passenger door. I have scheduled an appointment to have him take the door apart and investigate further.

Leather on dash started wrinkling/bubbling then just peeled back (leather dash has delaminated). I am being told the wrinkles in the leather dash could cause an irregular passenger airbag deployment. Dealership rick hendrick of charleston and hoover of summerville only concerned with proper deployment of passenger airbag. Leather dash coming loose with significant wrinkles and distortion. Will affect passenger airbag deployment per design intent due to deviation in tear seam geometry. Research states the dash problem is a result of a supplier not performing the correct application of adhesive and cure procedures.

Concerned with proper deployment of passenger airbag. Leather dash coming loose with significant wrinkles and distortion. Will affect passenger airbag deployment per design intent due to deviation in tear seam geometry. (worked previously as seatbelt & airbag engineer and have witnessed effect of tear seam deviation. Pictures attached are not from my vehicle, but show onset of wrinkle condition and a deployed airbag for tear seam location reference.)

The leather dashboard is shrinking and coming unglued from the dashboard frame. The defroster vents are now affected and being pulled by the disintegrating leather. I am concerned that since the dashboard coating is no longer affixed to the car, the dashboard will be ripped off and become a projectile if the airbags inflate. The problem exists all the time but the threat exists most when car is in motion.

My vehicle has a recall (R09/NHTSA 15V-115) for failure of the tipm resulting in vehicle stalls and non starts which have occurred on multiple occasions since 2013 most recently 12/15/15. My vehicle has stalled in traffic on the highway and interstate at speed in heavy traffic almost causing several accidents. I have taken the vehicle to the local dealer (napoleton) who attempted to fix without resolve. In fact, I brought back after there first attempt and they want to charge me $1600 to repair. I have researched other complaints and truly know this is an electrical issue that is part of the safety recall. Additionally, my airbag light continues to come on which is also addressed in the recall. Jeep has refused to repair and I cannot drive vehicle due to safety concerns. Please help.

On June 2 after cleaning the car at the car wash (manually) on the way back to our home all the lights of the dashboard lit up for all services to be done and the wipers activated by themselves. The safety belts are no longer working and the lights of the car are not functional. You do not have blinkers, seat belts or brake lights. The RPM needle goes up and down randomly and the engine continues to rev up and down. The brakes feel as if they are not working to full strength, car was turned off and restarted to see if problem with dashboard still exist. Car started with the same problems, but was unable to shift into gear. Car was towed to dealership for service. The car was serviced at brigham-gill dealership (original sales dealer) on 03-June-2013 giving it back to me with the reset of all modules and deemed ok at that point. On 08-June-2013 the same exact problem happened while driving to Virginia beach. Car started same problems experienced on 03-June-2013. Car is at New Jersey dealership for repairs. Car dealer in NJ noted that there was a new computer module replacement to said vehicle in January timeframe. Each time the car has this problem, you are not able to either start the vehicle or move car out of park position.
