Auburn Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (1901 grass valley hwy, auburn, ca 95603, 888-268-8026) stated that the vehicle performed like other vehicles that needed the emissions reflashed; however, there was no remedy. The manufacturer was notified. The contact believed that the failure occurred after the emissions recall repair was performed. The failure mileage was 65,182. The VIN was invalid.

Had the ecodiesel aem recall done, the drivability of the vehicle with the turbo lag can be dangerous at times, the lag can be several seconds, and when merging with traffic entering traffic you have no idea when it comes and goes.

After fca issued recall and required update done, dangerous driving conditions exist. The update is referred to as the V08 aem update. After update done SUV became dangerously sluggish. When trying to accelerate to merge into traffic, power is dangerously low. This putting the drivers and passengers in danger when expecting SUV to perform as pre update. SUV also began to lurch forward when coming to a stop, which if not paying attention could cause an accident to occur. In addition SUV now shifts very hard, which doesn't purpose any safety issue, but does make the SUV uncomfortable to drive.

After receiving the V08 diesel emissions recall update, the truck is very sluggish to accelerate from a stop. Noticeable delay from pressing accelerator to forward motion. Almost hit numerous times as truck hesitated while pulling into traffic. Before the emissions recall this was not an issue. Very dangerous situation. Also some hesitation in shifting through the lower gears.

The alternator in my vehicle failed and caused the car to stall while driving on the highway. There is a recall, P60 alternator but it is only related to the 3.6L engine and I have the 5.8L V8. There is also an advanced communication T3607112017 which seems to describe my vehicle and includes the V8 Jeep but it is also not listed as a recall on my vehicle. How do I find out why my vehicle was excluded from the recall as my vehicle was affected.

At 115,000 I noticed a puddle of oil under the car. Took it to a repair shop the diagnosed as a bad transmission pan and performed the repair at a cost of $390.35. I picked up the vehicle from the repair shop and took it home. The following night I noticed a puddle of oil under the vehicle again and worse then when I took it in the first time. After further diagnostics it was determined the oil filter adapter housing was cracked and need replacement. I had the repair done at a cost of $1027.03. After doing some research I noticed this seems to be an issue with the 3.6 V6.

I recently had the ecodiesel update installed on our 2014 ecodiesel Jeep Grand Cherokee. The statement from the manufacturer is the driving conditions, fuel mileage, and performance will not be impacted due to the ECM update. These are false statements as the updated has greatly impacted our vehicle! fuel mileage as decreased greatly, there is a huge lag in the turbo, and the transmission shifts gears all over the place. The update is unsafe! my wife drives this car with our twin 15 month old boys. The lack in response of the turbo makes it unsafe while driving on the freeway. There is no get up and go, it's difficult to merge into traffic, and nearly impossible to pass. There is no responsivness in the throttle to feel like you have control over the car. We loved this car before the madated update (we live in California, we have to get the update to register the car). No we feel like the car is unsafe to drive with our children in it!

Chrysler (Jeep) has a long running problem with exhaust manifold bolts breaking prematurely as in my case (75,000 miles). It is a common problem and places the occupants of the vehicle in danger due to exhaust fumes entering the passenger compartment, in addition to extremely hot exhaust gases creating a fire hazard in the engine compartment. Chrysler will not warrant "fasteners" or fix the issue in it's manufacturing plants and leaves the owner with a very large bill to fix it. Can you please research and make Chrysler responsible for continuing to allow a known and dangerous situation to continue? I have called Chrysler and filed a complaint and request for assistance

Grand Cherokee

  • 53,000 miles
The most recent recall to correct engine programming to meet emissions has had a severe impact on engine and vehicle performance. There is a several second delay in acceleration from when the the accelerator pedal is pressed to when the vehicle responds and begins to move, that did not exist prior to recall repairs. This delay is most noticeable from a standing start. The delay in acceleration is a safety concern because when the driver makes a decision to accelerate and the vehicle does not respond accidents could occur.

Engine shuddered and stopped while in park. Tried to restart, but would not start (electrical was fine). Had it towed and fuel injector replaced. Drove for approximately 75 miles and acceleration ceased on busy highway at 70mph. When able to pull over and stop, would not go into park (even though shifter indicated that it was in park). Dashboard indicated that my speed was too high to shift (I do not recall the full message) and it began to roll backwards into traffic. I turned it off and it stopped rolling. Tow truck said he had difficulty putting it in neutral. Prior to failure to accelerate, there was a heavy rumbling sound when gas pedal pushed; then it sounded like small parts were falling off of the engine; then grinding sound but no acceleration. I saw a brief message about 4wheel drive, but was trying to get to safety, so I do not know what it said. I had a passenger and toddler in the car. Frightening!

The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While driving approximately 60 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact was unable to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to breeden Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram (located at 5900 us-71 bus, fort smith, ar 72908, (479) 646-4731) where it was diagnosed that two of the six injectors were inoperable and needed to be replaced. The mechanic was unable to explain why the injectors failed. The wiring harness to the injectors were disconnected and reconnected, but the failure recurred twice. The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 95,000.

Our dealership completed epa and carb emissions recall V08 for 3.0L diesel emissions on 20 May 2019. Mileage out was 63,819. 200 miles later, we started the vehicle as normal. Less than a mile later, as we started to accelerate onto the highway, the check engine light came on and our vehicle's information center displayed two separate diesel exhaust fluid (def) related warnings. The first saying def needed service/contact the dealership, while the second warning said we could not restart the vehicle after driving another 200 miles. We immediately found a safe spot to pull over and called the dealership. The acting service manager advised us that it was safe to drive the vehicle to the dealership as long as there were no obvious performance issues. He said it was probably emission related, that we would be ok if we didn't drive over 200 miles. He said going over 200 miles might abruptly put the vehicle into a "limp mode"! we were 150 miles away from the dealership but the vehicle was otherwise operating normally, so we took the service manager's advice and drove to the dealership. Our Jeep is an off-road, trail-rated, go anywhere vehicle designed to be used out in the wilderness/national parks as well as on the highway. It is an unacceptable safety hazard for the vehicle's computer to have control over starting because of an emission violation/problem. Especially when in a remote location where a reliable vehicle is paramount to safety. Moreover, there is significant potential for a serious crash if the vehicle abruptly goes into a "limp mode" either out on the highway or at a stop light. To date, our dealership has not found a solution to the check engine light nor the def warnings. They are keeping our vehicle and working with Fiat/Chrysler automotive (fca) representatives and engineers on a solution.

Drove my car a short distance to a destination. Turned the car off to complete my errand. Returned to my car 10 minutes late and my car would not start. The equipment would come on, I.e. radio, lights, but brake seemed to be locked and engine would not start. This happened during city street driving. I just purchase the garden the dealer about 3mos ago.
