Vehicle is slow when shifting in low gears; pulling away from stop lights/signs feels as if the car is not in drive and going to stall. This could result in being rear ended since so many drivers speed away when light turns green. It seems like it stutters during shifting. Having it in eco-mode highlights the issue further. The down shifting at higher speeds feels like a stick shift car, not normal or comfortable. Even on the highway acceleration is often not very responsive during entrance and passing. The gas pedal is very touchy, no way to pull away slowly, just takes off; this might be part of the issue, confusing the sensors during shifting. I contacted my sales person who said he'd have a service tech contact me, no calls yet. I wish I had checked this site and edmunds before buying, as I would have chose a different manufacturer. This is my 4th Jeep gr Cherokee, unfortunately the least desirable, my '09 had zero issues and original brakes at trade in with over 105,000 miles; '14 is likely my last.

After taking my new Jeep into dealer because the "check engine" light came on, I was told that there were 16 stored codes but they could find no problem and the computer was reset. Two days later the check engine light again came on. I took back to the dealership and was told "there is a leak in the fuel tube" we have to replace it but we will have to order the part; we don't have it in stock. I was told "it is safe to drive"...a leak in the fuel tube-what the heck is leaking-is safe. Ok, but two trips to the dealer with less than 2,500 miles is a bit much. I have a 2006 Jeep, same make/model that had 1st major repair (water pump) at 145,000 miles....so much for improved models. I am very concerned that this is a harbinger of future issues.

Car stalled during a right turn. The instrument panel registered neutral, but the gear shift was in drive, with the engine off. The dealer was unable to find a problem...updated 08/19/13

The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the manual for the vehicle stated that the engine should shut off when the key fob was removed from the vehicle. The contact parked the vehicle in a residential garage overnight and the following day, he found that the vehicle was still powered on. The vehicle was taken to the dealer because the failure caused the catalytic converter and fuel pump to fail. The engine became extremely hot and remained on even after there was no more fuel in the vehicle. The contact spoke with the manufacturer and was told that they would not assist due to user error. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was not available. The failure and the current mileage was 1,093.

While traveling at high speed or low speed for no reason vehicles gear shifter selects neutral on its own. Also problems with vehicle instruments display, displaying various faults with vehicle. After vehicle comes to a stop and vehicle restarted problem disappears then reappears a short time later. Now taken back to dealer for them to repair vehicle. Still waiting after two weeks for Chrysler to repair/supply new parts.

The vehicle stalled for no reason. It took multiple attempts (approx 10 times) to restart the vehicle. It would start and I could drive 40-50 yards and would stall again. Multiple lights came on such as vehicle in gear (it wasn't), etc. Once it did restart and I was able to drive to the dealer the check engine light stayed on. The vehicle has done this twice now without cause (I have only had the vehicle for 4 weeks). The Jeep dealership kept the vehicle for a couple days. They were finally able to reset the codes and did a software update. I found out a crank sensor had been replaced before I purchased the vehicle.they said they could not guaranty it would not happen again and to check back in the near future as additional software updates may become available.
