Flash: Electronic Shift Module (ESM) System Improvements
This bulletin involves updating the ESM software and
if necessary replacing the lower shifter or ?PRNDM?.
The customer may experience the following:Shifter lever is locked in park (occurs intermittently upon start up). After 2.5 minutes shifter becomes responsive and functions
as designed.
Service shifter warning indicator in cluster is illuminated.
?PRNDM? display on the shifter does not illuminate.
If PRNDM is not illuminated, the memory has been corrupted to the point that this flash will
NOT repair the PRNDM and it would need replacement. Replace the PRNDM in the shifter bezel. Refer to the detailed service procedures available in DealerCONNECT>TechCONNECT under: Service Info>21
- Transmission and Transfer Case/Automatic - 8HP70/Shifter, Transmission/Removal/Installation.Customers may experience a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL)
illumination. Upon further investigation the technician may find one or more of the following stored Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) set:U1465-00 - Implausible Driver Shift Request Signal Received.
U1466-00 - Implausible Driver Shift Request Signal Received On DPT CAN.
U1267-00 - No Valid Data From Esm On CAN-C or CAN-DPT.
