I am experiencing 2 issues with the vehicle. 1. I am not sure exactly which component is affected, but on several occasions I have had the car essentially stop responding WHILE I"M DRIVING. While driving on the highway, the car somehow loses response, I don't know any other way to describe it. It's almost like the car switches to Neutral, but the gear indicator still says it's in Drive. Pressing the gas pedal does nothing, the car just continues to glide along, steadily slowing. On these occasions I have had to pull over to the breakdown lane, nothing in the car responds, changing the gear does nothing, I have to shut the car off to kind of reset it. After a few minutes you can turn the car back on and it runs fine. 2. The display screen for controls, radio, etc... is black. The dealership tells me this is a widespread issue and the replacement radio units are not available. This has been going on for 3 months. No back up camera, no phone connection, no control over the display, nothing. I can't see the temperature or the mode beyond the actual buttons on the dash. At one point the dealership advised that they had received a radio and after waiting all day to get it back they told me it was dead in the box and they have no ETA on another one. During the first troubleshoot for the radio, the car was returned to me stuck in Spanish or Portuguese and they have not been able to get it out of that mode. So I currently get a warning numerous times per day but I have no idea what it's warnign me about, and the odometer is stuck in kilometers. (I truly believe they were BS'ing me about even having it in the first place after all the stringing along and lying they've done.) As of today, I have no ETA on a fix, and neither the dealership or the warranty company is able to provide any information.

On 10/10/2024, my Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe (hybrid) had a battery fire at my home. Luckily, the fire department got it controlled before any additional property or any people were harmed, but under slightly different circumstances (middle of the night or parked in the garage) the house would have burned and my entire family could have been killed. After this incident, I read that Jeep/Stallantis issued a recall for this issue 10/1, but no timely attempt to contact owners was made. The guidance is that these vehicles should not be charged and should not be parked near buildings. Knowing this could have prevented this and any other similar fires, but I did not receive notification of the recall until 10/21 by mail. I receive emails from Jeep/Mopar weekly for useless information such as extended warrantees, so immediate notification should be simple. In fact I even made an appointment for an oil change on the same day as the fire and after a search for recalls, I was given NO information about this. Jeep is now investigating the incident, but Stellantis will not provide me additional information and this process may take months. I am now paying out of pocket for a rental car and still must pay the loan for a car that is totaled. Stellantis should be providing a car in the meantime and replacing my car (in a non hybrid model) as soon as possible, but no one has even contacted me to make sure everyone is ok. They should also be notifying owners affected by the recall by every means possible in order to prevent further damage to property and human injuries or even deaths.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request" The EV battery, yes How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk" The recall notice list a serious risk (fire) to passengers or other cars and structures. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center" Yes Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No. I have contacted the dealer three times to get update regards this recall and how to remedy the risk, but every time I am told that a service adviser would contact me, without any update. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear"

I have owned this car for almost 1 year. from day one this "radio" area 10" screen with a computer behind it has been over heating and glitching out. The effects of this are several and random. Freezing and restarting randomly. Calls dropping from car to phone and back again intermittantly. While using gps maps will freeze so i miss turns and i am not where the maps says i am. After reversing the backup picture on screen from camera will sometime freeze on screen even 5 min after I am moving forward and it is a frozen picture. Most recently a disturbing saftey issue is that i was backing into my driveway and the screen froze and not backing up warning sound or visual was real time and i almost hit my fence, as my screen showed green lines and that i was plenty far away when in fact i was inches from the fencing. The dealership has replaced the glass screen but NOT the modual or computer behind it. They have sent me softare updates over the air. I have heard from them and from others this is a major issues with this model and year with these panasonic computers in them. I am very sad and frustrated about this!

Vehicle has a system to diagnose if the connected trailer has an inoperative bulb. The system is incorrectly assessing that the Thule Epos bike racks break lights and turn signal lamps are working, resulting in constant driver distractions from the warning lights. Every brake or turn the system beeps and illuminates warning lights when in fact there is no problems with the lights. Jeep refuses to address the issue as the bike rack is a "third party" accessory and Thule says their system is working so it's a Jeep issue. Warning system is a nuisance causing distractions while driving.

The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that there was a loud roaring sound coming from the vehicle soon after starting the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where a diagnostic test failed to determine the cause of the failure. The contact was referred to the manufacturer for further assistance and a second diagnostic test was performed. The dealer replaced one of the speakers in the vehicle which helped to reduce the noise. The contact stated that after the repair was performed, the contact stated that several electrical failures had occurred including multiple warning lights were displayed. The contact was informed that the infotainment screen was showing a blank screen, the sunroof was independently opening while the vehicle was off, and the truck hatch had failed to open after several attempts. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle shut off while driving at various speeds. The contact had the vehicle towed to a dealer West Herr Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM Fiat of Rochester (4477 W Ridge Rd, Rochester, NY 14626) where the vehicle remained in the dealer's possession. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 700.

Since [XXX], my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee has experienced multiple ongoing electrical issues. Initially, my car wouldn't start in the morning so I called Chrysler's roadside assistance and had the car jump started, then brought it to the dealership as a precaution to get it checked out. The dealership determined that the main battery had issues and so they replaced it with a new main battery. However, my car wouldn't start again the following day, and so I had the car towed, as per the dealership's request, then brought to the dealership for further inspection. The module that the technician installed did not fix the problem, and instead he determined that there were further electrical issues with my car. The technician has checked and tested all components related to the charging system, battery, alternator, starter, all relays, fuses, and wiring in the TIPM. The technician said the problem was sourcing from something slowly draining the power while the vehicle is off. And rather than "staying asleep, " something would intermittently wake up the car, but only for about a second or two, then everything would go back to normal. According to my service advisor, if this was a constant remaining draw, the technician would have had it diagnosed a long time ago, but the fact that it is intermittent, along with the fact that there are a lot of electrical components in the vehicle, it's posing as an even bigger challenge. This led to opening a Star Case, which gets the engineers involved to assist with the diagnostic procedure. Since then, they had replaced the PDC and relay to my car. The technician replaced the body control module but the issue was still not fixed. Then, the manufacturer sent their service engineer (TA) to further evaluate the problem. This TA advised to replace another PDC module, but again, the issue was still not fixed. My car has now been at the dealership for 85 days and they have failed to resolve the electrical draining issue. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA),
