The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving 15 MPH, the -??4-WD mode Disabled-??, and that the Automatic Emergency Braking activated messages were displayed. The vehicle then independently turned off. The contact stated that there were no other vehicles in front of the vehicle at the time of the failure. The contact was able to veer to the side of the road. The contact stated that upon restarting the vehicle, the messages were no longer displayed. The contact continued driving; however, the vehicle failed to shift smoothly into the intended gear. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where diagnostic codes related to the transmission valve body were retrieved. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 1,100.

The uconnect system on this vehicle locks up, glitches and is unresponsive. This makes the hands free function for cell phone use unreliable at best, as well as all touchscreen functions inoperable. The problems with the uconnect systems make driving the car very distracting and potentially unsafe at times. These problems have been inspected by the dealership service department and confirmed not to be normal. The dealership service technicians have attempted to fix these problems four times by replacing two radios, a touchscreen and reloading software. None of these attempts have been successful. The uconnect system has had these issues starting the first week of ownership Nov 2022

Brand new car purchased on July 12, 2023, with 84 miles. In 19 days the car has been in service for 3 days to date, left stranded with all the listed issues. 1.Navigation screen randomly goes blank/black while driving 2.Audio Bluetooth connection randomly not allowing me to hear or be heard by caller 3.Rear AC system is not blowing air, even when front AC is set to lowest setting 4.Cell wireless charging blue light, but there is no actual charging happening 5.USB plugin not actually charging 6.Driver Assist lanes disappearing 7.Auto Drive setting stuck on D2 while driving 8.Acceleration became erratic, to the point where the car would not start 9.Randomly slow to break and accelerate. 10.Average MPG is between 15 and 16 11.Driver's dashboard becomes erratic, and dimly

-The front and rear camera work intermittently, and yes it is available for inspection upon request. - During the morning, afternoon, or during the night, the package that includes the security that the vehicle has about vision by cameras does not work, putting their own lives and others at risk by not seeing the blind and low spots from the Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve 2023, causing a fatal accident. - The has been confirmed by a dealer because me personally and my wife have delivered the Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve 2023 with the problem in its maximum expression to the dealer. - The vehicle has been inspected more than eight times, but the dealer technician and Chrysler technician don't know yet how to fix the problem. Non exist any warning lamp, messages, or other symptoms of the problem before the failure.

Bought the vehicle new. At around 3000 miles the vehicle dash had all dummy lights on and giving me all warnings. Then while driving the vehicle dash started flashing on and off and the vehicle started loosing power. Has been sitting at the dealer for 2 months. No time when parts are coming and if it's fixable. Advised to contact Chrysler and already did. Keep getting round around and case numbers with no resolution.

When ever I try to charge my Jeep grand Cherokee 4xe summit reserve it fails to charge on a level 1 or level 2 charger and then they check engine light comes on and a electrical burning smell from the hybrid battery and says service charging system. When ever you bring it to the dealer they just reset the code and says it works only for the problem to come back it also affects how the jeep drives when this happens the jeep doesn't want to accelerate properly and has other electric system issues like the wipers coming on randomly and the massage seats coming on randomly as well which can distract someone when they are not expecting that to happen the jeep doesn't want to drive. I brought it to the dealer 3 times now and all they keep doing is resetting the code and stating its fine only for it to come back and this is a major problem and needs to be fixed as this is going to cause a major accident or fire since it has to do with the hybrid battery system.

The Uconnect 5.0 screen (which controls all safety and operating systems) and system continues to malfunction with a black screen. This seems to happen more frequently when the car is put into reverse and the backup camera is activated. There have also been times when the screen freezes requiring a "reboot". Thus when malfunctions occur, there is no backup camera nor is there any ability to operate safety systems. This seems to be occurring every single day. So far dealer has been unable to replicate problem and thus cannot repair it.

We have been without service of the Grand Cherokee L vehicle for nearly 6 of the 11 weeks since we leased the vehicle. The four (4) incidents and -??repair attempts-?? to -??fix-?? the randomly/sudden occurring mechanical and electrical problems were inter-related and causal to the mechanical and electrical blackout troubles. 1.02/27/23 Purchase 2.03/20/23 631 total miles traveled. Dash board blackout. a.Service Dept -??reset software-??. 3.03/31/23 912 total miles traveled. Complete dashboard, radio and navigation blackout a.Service Dept did not experience random failures, -??therefore no repair action was warranted-??. 4.04/01/23 930 total miles traveled. While traveling at approximately 45 mph vehicle suddenly seemed to drop gears - the rpm went from 2k up to 6k, the suddenness of the drop of gears had our seat belts tightening. pulled the car to the side of the round and car remained at 6k rpm. I turned the car off, waited a few seconds then restarted the vehicle and proceed home. 5.04/02/23 after starting the car remotely car literally would not get out of automated start mode. I had to turn the vehicle off, wait a couple of minutes before it would start again. In driving the vehicle to the repair shop the power went out of the radio/gps/etc system again. a.Service Dept found RADIO with internal failure. Ordered replacement radio.-?? b.On inquiry, Service stated the CAM bus (software version -??AG-?? was replaced with updated -??AI-?? version.) 6.04/26/23 1,051 total miles traveled. On exiting a parking lot, I tried to accelerate into traffic, the RPM increased but with zero forward motion. I pressed the accelerator to the floor, the RPM increased but zero forward motion. I then released the accelerator, the RPM correspondingly decreased - still no forward motion. Then reapplying pressure - slowly to the accelerator - the vehicle began to roll forward but at an EXAGGERATED slow pace. I slowly rolled across the traffic lane and forward "running rough".

Incident #1 - Power steering issue. While exiting the driveway, I lost power steering along with unresponsive controls such as "lane management" and "traction control." Alert on dash read, "power steering unavailable, " and engine light was on. After turning the vehicle off, power steering and other controls returned after about 20 minutes of occasionally turning the vehicle off and on again. Service was performed with a "software update." Incident #2 - About a month later, while driving on the road, I abruptly lost power steering and the ability to accelerate, as the gear shift disingaged and was unresponsive. I pulled over to a rolling stop and tried shifting gears but the gearshift still would not respond. I then turned the vehicle off, waited a few seconds, then turned it back on. After doing so, all controls were restored. I didn't check for warning lights. The vehicle was not taken in to get serviced. Safety risk - Had these malfunctions happened on a busy street, it definitely could've caused a serious accident, as my control of the vehicle was very limited. The vehicle is available for inspection.

The UConnect screen in a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee intermittently stops working, freezes, or is non-responsive when touched when the car is started. It has only happened when the car is started, not while driving. This is a problem as I rely on the rear camera view to be certain no one is walking or driving behind the car when I back out the garage and my view is limited. Nothing shows on the screen. I can deal with no media showing but not no rear camera view. Late yesterday, I started the car in town and the screen just showed an icon with a radio and FM on it. (Attached photo) I've never seen that icon before. There was no sound, no view when the car was in reverse, and no response to my touching anywhere on the screen to change it. I couldn't access the fan direction, media, or anything that should have shown on the screen. This has happened over 3 times since I purchased the car 1/3/23. After driving 15 minutes, it still did not come on. At my destination, I turned the car off and on several times to see if it would re-set itself. The screen was blank each time I restarted the car. (Photo attached) 3 hours later, I started the car and the screen showed the whole system being re-booted. It was like a computer screen that freezes and has to be totally restarted. It turned itself off. However, this was hours after the incident. This morning, it worked fine, again. I have contacted a local Jeep dealer to check on it. The first appointment available is a week away. I brought up the safety recall 58A about the steering system possibly failing causing a crash. I was told to not worry if I'm not hearing any 'clunking' noise. They will also inspect the recall item with the steering in a week. I use my car for business which caused me to be concerned. I don't want to have an accident with clients in the car.

I took delivery of the vehicle on February 15, 2023. On May 23, 2023 I was driving 35 MPH and without warning, I lost power steering and the brakes (felt like bricks when I tried to stop the vehicle). The vehicle never slowed and continued at 35 MPH. I had to swerve to not hit other vehicles as I was going through stop lights. I put the car in neutral and it slowed down and then put in park.after about 3-4 attempts of turning off/on, the steering started to work as did the brakes. I drove the.5 mi down the street with my hazard lights on back to my house. At that point the engine light remained on. The dashboard lit up with numerous alerts (I made sure to take pictures of everything). I called a tow truck and sent pictures to the dealership. They had the car for 2 days, called and said that they cannot duplicate the issue, despite receiving and reviewing the pictures I sent. They said no other option but to pick up the vehicle or let the service tech drive the vehicle overnight to see if the issue could be duplicated.

While driving the vehicle on two different occasions. One was out of town and the screens and dash board going black. I tried turning off the vehicle and back on to reset it. It did not work! Then on another occasion the screen went black would not power off. The dash screen read ALM and cruise control unavailable needs service. I drove straight to the dealership and showed them. They scheduled service the next day. Got a call one of the service technicians was aware of the situation and stated Chrysler needed to provide a recall on the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee or create an update for the software system. Vehicle is still not fixed. I do not feel safe driving this vehicle.

On four separate incidences, the automatic emergency brake engaged while driving the vehicle at speeds in excess of 30 mph. There was no warning or reason for the emergency brake to engage. This resulted in the car needing to be towed to the dealer on two occasions as the vehicle froze and was not drivable. The dealer states they are unable to diagnose the problem or fix it as there are no codes that populate during the diagnostic session. This is an obvious safety hazard as this is a family vehicle with two small children in the rear seats.

Accelerating onto hwy and vehicle jerks then flashes -??service hybrid system-?? and -??battery low-?? (as in the vehicle battery not electric mode charge. Pulled up to a stop light 2 min later and automatic breaking locks up and the vehicle completely locks and shuts down. Unable to reset/turn off/on or shift. Had to be towed to dealership.

The surround view cameras including the back up camera are not working. My major saftety concern is that when I am backing up I am unable to see what is behind me.The dealer has tried to fix the cameras at least 4 times and has been unable to resolve the issue.

The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked with her in the front driver's seat, she smelled a burning odor. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact then saw smoke coming from the left edge of the backrest of the driver's seat. The contact put out the smoke with her hand and sustained a burned finger. The contact did not seek medical assistance. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and sent out a fire inspector who diagnosed the vehicle but did not provide any information to the contact. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 311.
