Ac compressor had to be replaced I did not know there was a recall on it.. also the computer went on it and that was repaired on 10/11/13... I was told the spark plugs were wrong. I have never had a tune up or my spark plugs changed! unless the wrong ones were in there when I bought this brand new in September of 2006. Or possibly the Chrysler dealership did it to get a repair. Safford in springfield va. I will not stop perusing this until I have answers. ABS/esp electronic stability control problem. Vehicles started braking causing uncontrollable swerving on highway, which my newborn twins in the back seat. This seems to be a big issue with Jeep. Vehicle will brake hard on a tire while traveling at highway speeds thinking that there is tire traction slippage.

Intermittent problem with ABS/electronic stability system setting warning lights on dash and disabling ABS/esp. Warning lights illuminate, and turn off randomly. Malfunction has now lead to failure of ABS, causing loss of vehicle control while braking. ABS cycled without need, and improperly, causing uneven braking and violent, uncontrolled swerving of vehicle. Required removal of ABS pump fuse to make vehicle drivable again. This occurred under normal braking from ~45mph to a red light. Had this occurred at freeway speeds, or under an emergency stop, there would have almost certainly been an accident. Owner forums report this as a common problem.

Hello, I bought a 2006 Jeep Cherokee sport in romania kj / LE85 (the Liberty 4X4 Jeep for europe), from casa auto romania: / 7 February 2007. My technical problems with this car, still in warranty (2 years warranty in romania) are: -the esp/bas warning lamp comes on continuously with engine running, the light remains on at speeds greater than 30mps. First, this problem was randomly appearing, but now it appears each time I am driving on highway with speeds greater than 30 miles/H. -2 times my engine lost power for no reason; -the fuel consumption urban: Ca 17 L / 100 km; -the fuel consumption extra urban: Ca 12 / /100 km. My car is for the second time in the service in the last 6 weeks for the same problem " electronic stability control, the primary safety system of this vehicle. First time, after 3 weeks they said they fixed the problem. I brought it back next day with the same problem. My car is still in service. My great problem is that my authorized dealer is unable or don't want to fix these problems, waiting to expire the warranty of my car ? in few days. They don?T want to offer warranty for the pieces they replaced, they say the warranty of this pieces replaced expires with the warranty of the car. I'm afraid this problem is unsolvable for Chrysler llc, and my car is an unsafe car. Also, I want you to help me with the serial number of the components of my car: Wind screen, battery, pistons, ?. I found this links on internet with 2006 Liberty Jeep owners with the same unsolvable problem. jeephorizons.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?T=6836&sid=9F0A35885eee4cb496bf50E84284D105 jeephorizons.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?T=10382 jeephorizons.com/phpbb/"F=8.

This is my third complaint for the same on -going problem. The ABS/bas, esp lamp will come on when going 45-50 mph or medium acceleration. At various time the engine will lose power. Jeep Liberty has been taken back three times to dealer. They said they are unable to dupilcate problem as the problem must ne active. The codes are present, but not active. I've written Chrysler/Jeep with not help or assistance. Vehicle is still under factory warranty.

This is my second time in the last two weeks for the same problem. My last complaint was the ABS/bas, esp lamp coming on. My 2006 Jeep Liberty was at the dealership for 1-1/2 weeks. The dealer says the codes are stored, but they must be active to locate the problem. The day after picking up my Jeep Liberty, I was driving on the vehicle on the highway at 45-50 mph, the same lamps came on. Now I afraid to drive the vehicle for fear of the brake system. My vehicle only has 24,888. I recently wrote to Chrysler to complain.

ABS/bas, esp and traction control continues to come on. The vehicle is still under warranty and the dealer is very cooperative. They continue to work with Chrysler and Jeep, but the problem continues. This will be the third time back to the dealer. Vehicle only has 24,000 miles.

While driving and evasive move was made to prevent an accident. The stability control did what it was suppose to do, the light lit to signal it was activated, then the esp/bas light came on and the vehicle became locked in a limp mode. I pulled to the side and restarted the car. The two above mentioned lights went out and the check engine light lit. This is the third time this has occurred. One of the time it happened on the tech repairing the Jeep. Many parts and software updates have been installed.

I recently purchased a new 2006 Jeep Liberty and have had repeated problem with the rollover protection program safety system. Here's what has been happening: I would be driving down the street in a straight line, say 30 mph, and the system warning lights would go on, then my anti-lock brakes would begin firing because they think that the car is about to roll over. After a few seconds, this would stop. But after that, sometimes the brakes locked up altogether. Other times driving went back to normal except for the warning light staying on. It's a little scary and more than a little dangerous for your brakes to lock up this way. The car was in the shop for weeks. I spent hundreds on rental cars. And I had to replace my back brakes at 16,000 miles. I believe that was due to this system malfunctioning. This is an ongoing problem. This is a vital safety system, but the dealer and Jeep don't really want to address this issue.
