In July 2009 the left, rear passenger window in my Jeep Liberty fell down by itself. In Dec. 2010 the right rear passenger window in the same vehicle fell down by itself during a snow storm causing approximately 6 inches of snow to accumulate in my vehicle. These are windows that are rarely used. Both the service manager and customer service reps at Chrysler advised me that there is a faulty window regulator in the Jeep vehicles which causes this problem, but no recalls have been made.

Driving down the road at 40 mph. Was not rolling up or down the power windows, when the back window suddenly fell from being closed to half open. It would not roll back up. It was startling and distracted my driving momentarily. Faulty regulators were the cause of previous failures and the broken glass and I expect the same determination will be made when I bring it to a Jeep dealership later this week for repair. The most recent (Nov. 29, 2010) failure on the driver's side back window was the second time this occurred on this particularly window. Previous repairs involved window and regulator replacement. This is a massive problem with Jeep Liberty SUVS and a real serious safety concern in my opinion.

I purchased a used 2006 Jeep Liberty 4X4 last December and since that time I have had to replace 4 broken window regulators. Clearly these plastic regulators are substandard and easily break. There appear to be hundreds, if not thousands of complaints online relating to the same problem.

Driver side rear power window regulator broke 2 times within 6 months. (same window) dropped while driving - 1st time it broke it was repaired costing me $259.52 - 2nd time it broke I have a temp fix holding window up B/C I'm not wasting $ to fix it if it is just going to break again in 6 months.. I cant afford to keep fixing something Jeep should have recalled. This is a well known Jeep Liberty 06 problem.

The rear passenger side window fell off of its track and fell down inside the door, where my 3 year old daughter was seated, while the vehicle was being driven 65 mph down a major highway, on the way to visit family out of state. I had a similar incident a year ago, but with the driverside window. This window track was covered under warranty but the glass had to be paid out of pocket (because of a change done to the new track). The recent passenger side window is in the process of being repaired.

My car was parked, when the regulator for the back passenger's side window broke causing the window to fall completely into the door. This is at least the 13 time one of the regulators has broken in my Liberty. This time I was lucky because my car was parked. There have been several times it has broken while driving which is a safety concern for my passengers. Jeep has not yet recalled the part even though they have acknowledged that the part is faulty.

My 2006 Jeep Liberty started experiencing power window problems around Nov 06. All 4 power windows would not roll down or they would roll down part of the way then get stuck and wouldn't roll back up. It was a safety concern when they were stuck open. It was also an issue in drive-through situations and other typical scenarios where you would roll down a window. A local Chrysler service dept repaired it repeatedly from 2006 until they closed in early 2009, then another Chrysler service department made the last repair in July 2009. Repairs ranged from re-wiring the windows to completely replacing the internal electronic system.

On my Jeep Liberty the rear window on the passenger's side will not roll up. I drove to fill up my gas tank on Tuesday evening, and when I was reentering my vehicle after filling up, I noticed that this window was down. I am not absolutely positive, but I highly doubt I would have been able to drive to the gas station without noticing the wind noise with that window down. Anyways, I used the button to try and roll it up and it didn't move. After a couple of tries with the button, an odd grinding sound started coming from the door. I got out and went around to see what was happening. I opened the door and used the rear buttons to roll it up, and the noise continued as well as some kind of pipe/wire came out of the door. When I tried to gently wiggle the window to see if it was bent or something, the part that was still up slid into the door (so the whole window is down now and won't roll up). I live in a dorm at a huge school, so having my whole car exposed by this open window makes me extremely nervous. I have taped a trash bag over it for now in case it rains, but it's awfully loud when I'm driving, and I doubt it will last much longer. I haven't taken it to a dealer yet because I wanted to look on the internet to see if this was happening to anyone else. I've seen so many complaints and similar stories that I am quite upset about the circumstances.

I am having problems with my 2006 Jeep Liberty passenger window regulators. I have seen many complaints online about this problem and Chrysler Jeep has done nothing to solve the problem. A recall for the window regulators needs to be put into place. Why should the car owners keep putting out money to fix the windows when the replacement part will only be another plastic part that will break again in time!

The contact owns a 2006 Jeep Liberty. The contact observed that the front driver and rear driver side window glass fell unexpectedly into the door panel without activation of the automatic window regulator. The vehicle was taken to dealer and repaired. The failure recurred. The second occurrence, the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the window, window regulator and bracket were replaced. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000. The VIN was unavailable.

The contact owns a 2006 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated that the window regulators continuously fail, causing the windows to fall into the door panel abnormally. The vehicle was repaired by an authorized dealer the first three times of the failure and was repaired under the contacts warranty. Most recently, the window regulators failed again and the contact was awaiting a return call from the manufacturer to determine if they would assist with the continual failure. 2006 Jeep Liberty- window regulator problem. Windows crash down into door while driving, startling the driver! this is the third window in the vehicle that has had to be replaced. This is apparently a huge defect (just read the many reviews online) that Chrysler won't admit to.

2006 Jeep Liberty- vehicles window tracks defective with plastic clips. Window would fall down due to defective plastic window clips holding windows onto tracks. I would put the power window up and the next thing the window would fall down. The dealership informed me it would cost $400 to fix the problem. I've seen numerous complaints online but no recalls were put into effect. The cost to repair this defective product is $400 each window. Also the original window that's is still good cannot be reattached according to dealership service department. I was informed that the new part would include the track and window together. So what do I do with the original window that is still good. This problem needs to be address. I feel owners of 2006 Jeep Liberty's should not have to paid due to a defective plastic clip. Please have Chrysler Jeep do a recall on this problem it needs to be addressed.

Jeep Liberty automobile, 2006 model year, multiple incidents of door window dropping suddenly into the door frame. Drivers door has happened twice, front passenger door once, driver's side rear passenger door has happened three times and passenger side rear door once. On two occasions this has happened while driving at high speeds and the resulting chaos has nearly caused an accident. Jeep dealership says this is a common problem for Jeep Liberty from 2002 to 2006. They have no solution to offer other than replacing the window solenoid with same type that keeps failing.
