Rear window fell down and does not stay up, used a device to keep from falling down, 1 week later the other one fell down. Took to repair shop and was told the regulator was bad on both windows and needs to be replaced along with the window also. The reason for this is because the regulators were redesigned and it will cost over $800 to repair and was told the problem could happen again. No old parts are available have to put in new parts. The consequences of not repairing are the window can come down and someone can get in your car, the other solution is to have it fixed so it cannot fall down until you get the money to replace it.

Window regulators are no good we have 70,000 miles on our 2007 Jeep Liberty. We already had one replaced and now the back windows fail down and no way to get them up. We went today and got them fixed new regulators and new windows at a cost of $527. You cant get the old regulators because they have had so many problems with them.you have to buy the new ones and the new windows to fit them. There has been lots of complaints and I think it should be a recall on them.they are a piece of junk.we hardly ever used our back windows cause if you let them down going down the road the vibration is not bearable. We will never purchase another Jeep ever. We also was sitting in the car one day and the back passenger window exploded, we called the police cause we thought we had been shot at but we found out it was pressure from the window regulator lucky our insurance paid for that cause the dealer would not.

2007 Jeep Liberty two-wheeled drive. Left rear electric window had to be replaced when window regulator failed on May 20, 2010, with only 29,794 miles on the car. Window went down into left rear door, behind driver, and became totally inoperable. Dealer-shaver automotive group in thousand oaks, ca, changed regulator and glass and charged us an exorbitant $482.60. Did not even honor discount coupon for $50 off of service. Point is, that this seems to be a known defect based on the amount of complaints, and Chrysler should pay for it. In addition the replacement regulators should be different or be redesigned to be more robust, because it makes no sense to replace with the same regulators that might eventually fail again, as seems to be the case with other complainants who have experienced multiple failures with the same or different windows.

We bought our 2007 Jeep Liberty limited in November 2007, in the first 6 months we took it to the dealer to have the windows fixed 3 times as they kept falling off the tracks. First it was the passenger front window, second was the drivers window, and the third time was both rear windows. On all 3 occasions we took the vehicle in for servicing of the windows, the window motors were replaced and the tracks were either cleaned or replaced. I notified Jeep of the troubles I was having with the windows regardless of the repairs already done and was advised that there was no recall on such issues as it did not impose a safety threat. On one such incident when one of the rear passenger windows fell off it's track, my 3 month old son was sitting in his car seat next to the window, normally this may not have imposed any safety threat to him except that we happened to be traveling at a time when there was a huge extremely windy monsoon storm in process...I beg to differ that this did not impose a possibly extremely dangerous safety situation for my 3 month old baby as he was pelted by heavy rain and wind until I could reach a destination to get him to safety. Jeep needs to take ownership and accountability for their poor workmanship and design of the window structures in Jeep Liberty and any other Jeep vehicles that have this same issue!

My window regulator keeps breaking allowing my windows to fall into the door frame. I will be driving down the road and hear a load noise and look and see that one of my windows has fallen again. My young son likes to stick his hand out the window when it falls and it worries me that his hand could hit something outside the vehicle. This has happened to my car 3 times and the dealer told me that it wasn't a safety issue. I think when I am having to look around and see where noises are coming from and having to monitor my son non stop so he doesn't put his hand out the window, I am definitely not focused on my driving. This is a fairly new car, no warranty, but the problem started under warranty, and continues. Now they want me to pay for something that was wrong from the manufacturer and something the manufacturer couldn't fix while it was under warranty.

3 of the 4 power windows on my 2007 Jeep Liberty have failed...once the windows fail the will not stay up. Had them fixed under warranty. The front driver window is failing again. This is a faulty part and should be recalled. The back drivers side window does not go up or down any longer. Thought it was just simply the window being off the track. After bringing it in to a local repair shop was told it is the window regulator that is the problem. After doing some simple online searches this is a major problem it appears with 2006 or later Jeep Liberty's. there are thousands that have had this issue, and the part is expensive. It also is very unsafe as if you leave a pet in the car, and the window just goes down by itself, that can be a major problem. A even bigger problem can be if you have a child in the car, and the window just goes down. Plus obviously if it rains/ snows, or theft with window being opened. Chrysler was made aware of this problem numerous times, and they do not issue a recall to fix. Now I have to spend $300 dollars out of pocket to have fixed, when there is a obvious defect. Im actually lucky from what I read as it is only my first time it happened, and in most cases it happens many more times over the lifetime of the vehicle.

Drivers side front window regulator broke on our 2007 Jeep Liberty and now the window will not stay up. This is a safety issue because the open window allows for inclement weather to enter the vehicle thus distracting the driver from the Focus of driving. This also presents vandalism and theft issues. The dealership wants $300+ to replace not just the part but the entire window assembly including glass, to say nothing of the labor costs. I have read in several places of hundreds of other people with the same problems and have come to the conclusion that there needs to be a recall of this component.
