I have only owned the 08 Liberty for 3 months now and I started seeing little spots near the curtain airbags on both driver and passenger side, but when it rains a lot or I get my car washed the spots get bigger and now it's coming down from the map light which to me is very dangerous and distracting while not to mention its leaking on the cars components as well. It also has started making some lights not work. I'm not sure if I'm right but I do see spots behind the windshield so I don't know if it's the windshield but it's coming in much father now.

I was driving my 2008 Jeep Liberty skyslider on a local road at around 40 mph. The roof ( a convertible type) began rattling and came off the tracks while in the close position causing the roof to fly up. I contacted Jeep and they have no remedy for this although after looking this up online, there are tons a similar incidents. A car in which the roof flies up is a major safety hazard and Jeep should be liable since this doesn't seem to be an isolated incident.

The skyliner roof on our 2008 Jeep Liberty limited 4X4 is very noisy at driving speeds or on windy days and as many other owners with this option have stated the roof does not close all the way, I have to manually lock it back into the closed position. It doesn't open properly either the problem seems to be with the track and cable system. It could be a safety issue if it blew open while driving. With this being such a persistent problem with this option there really should be a recall. Maybe heavier duty components and cable could be a sufficient fix for the problem.

The 2008 Jeep and years after all have a defective skyslider(as far as I know every single person I spoke with that has a sky slider had some malfunction) which seems to be a huge safety concern. This panoramic roof constantly malfunctions, the replacement parts cost almost a 1/4 of the vehicle cost and when it breaks it usually is not fixed properly. The concern is, it can come flying off at high speeds causing possible injury, also makes vehicle un-secure due to being accessibly by the roof, also causes rain, and other contaminants to enter the cabin area. I understand that Chrysler is under government protection due to it financial situation but there is no reason they can not recall, repair, or have a engineered replacement for this due to the amount of complaints and issues it has.

While driving the vehicle, water began to seep out of the maplights and down both A-frame pillars. Panoramic moon roof stopped closing all the way after a wind storm and was open enough to cause major leakage (upwards of 3 gallons of water). I feel this is defective and could have caused a major accident, as traveling at high rate of speed, this could have resulted in the roof flying open. Manufacturer has stated it is not an issue that they provide any assistance with, and the repairs will be over $7000.

I own a 2008 Jeep Liberty that has a sky slider. I had opened the slider approximately four times (not exaggerating) and on the fourth time, when trying to shut it back it "broke". the slider went off track and I had to manually close it. This was all while sitting in my garage! once I took off the slider would whip in the wind and I was so afraid it would rip off I literally was going 40mph on the interstate. I had it fixed for $2500. I have never opened it again for fear that will happen again. Now going down the road from 50mph on, I can't even hold a conversation it is so noisy. If I get behind semi-trucks the slider starts to flap due to the front of it starting to "peel" back. I understand they have quit making this model and I understand why! I strongly urge a recall on this as many of us are out of money from fixing it and I can't even sell it. No one wants it because of the slider. Now im stuck with a low class vehicle while paying high class monthly payments. I feel I have been scammed!
