Vehicle stalled and lurched upon acceraling from a traffic red light. The electric throttle light appeared on dashboard. Purchased with loan four days ago. Initially same thing occurred with high RPM as well. No warning light came on at first. Fifth day of driving this revealed the warning light on dashboard. Dealer indicated recall fixed prior to sale. Vehicle warning light still appears. Rpms too high on acceleration. Repair shop indicated the recall did not fix issue and needs to have Jeep dealer check it.

While driving in heavy traffic, the vehicle suddenly shut off, the steering locked and I was extremely luckily. Immediately after, absolutely nothing happened when turning the key. Also no horn, no lights... nothing. A similar thing happened 2 years ago and the Jeep dealer stated it was a computer issue.

The vehicle randomly started dropping to 0 RPM during different speeds and situations (some 30mph, some 60mph, some turning, some going straight, but never stalled while stopped) on and off for a week with no check engine light or fault codes present. Driving on the freeway 8 months pregnant going 65mph the Jeep stalled out and then the check engine light came on. It showed up as a crankshaft sensor fault, we replaced the crankshaft sensor and now it is stuck in tip start mode and will not start! this is the 3rd brand sensor that has been tried. This is very similar to the 2016 recall issue (safety recall S89 / NHTSA 16V-907 crankshaft camshaft sensor wire harness) there have been numerous safety complaints about the 2015 Jeep Patriot having reoccurring similar issues and nothing has been done. This is a 1 owner purchased brand new vehicle that has been cared for properly and has had more issues than a 5 year old vehicle should. Stalling out at 65mph on the freeway while 8 months pregnant could of killed me and my unborn child. This issue needs to be addressed before it's too late.

My car was in motion and I lost power while merging onto the highway and I was unable to get the car started back up. I got the car towed and when it arrived at the mechanic it started back up just fine, they were unable to duplicate the issue as no error message was on my dashboard, therefore their diagnostic device could not figure out what caused my car to stall. The mechanic kept my car for a while and it finally gave out on them again and they discovered by throttle body had gone out. I had this issue in may of 2017 and had it fixed at a Jeep dealership and less than 3 years later my car has the very same issue.

When driving the car there was a periodic jerk and than it began to loose acceleration. No matter how much I pressed on gas it wouldn't go and than it just died. They thought it was battery so we replaced battery and alternator. Still having issues with the periodic jerk and the battery light now comes on and off. This needs to be looked at.

I was on my way to take my son to school, when while on a busy city street my car started to jerk, and suddenly I was no longer to acceralate. I was literally scared for my life and my child, as the speed of my car slowed down so fast, that I almost got rearended. When my car slowed down and could no longer acceralate, my check engine, electric throttle control, and traction control lights all came on. It was very odd as this has never happened before. I read and seen that there are hundreds of people having this same issue. This is very concerning. I'm surprised that no one has been killed due to this, I could not imagine if I was the highway behind a big rig and my speed quickly dropped like that or if someone was riding my tail, there is no way they would have been able to slow down quick enough to prevent from hitting me. I seen that people with Jeep have been having this issue, regardless of the year of the Patriot. There needs to be a recall on this part.

A circuit wire corroded and shorted the tipm. This happened at home. The car was stored in the garage. The car wouldn't start. I had it towed to the dealership. When connected to the dealer diagnostics it showed no error codes. When the mechanic replaced the wire at the dealership service shop the starter ran non stop without the key in the ignition. I am unaware if the car starter also came on without the key when I was not near the vehicle. This vehicle does not have remote start. It is driven on paved rides and stored in a garage. I am the second owner. Less than two weeks prior to this shorted tipm the vehicle was serviced at the same dealer for a factory recall to change the catalytic converter and to do a computer software update.

Our 2015 Jeep Patriot 4WD is shutting off randomly without warning while driving it!! in the middle of driving it will just randomly shift off without warning! all the lights will turn on then the car will shut off sometimes in the middle of traffic!! this is extremely dangerous as it is putting not only our lives at risk for a crash but also those drivers around us as well. Once the car shuts itself off it will not turn on for 30 minutes or so leaving us stranding sometimes in the middle of traffic even!! we have a 4 year old that is in the car with us most of the time when this is happening as well and is putting her life at risk of a serious crash as well!! the 2016 Jeep Patriot has a recall for this exact problem that our 2015 is having! it has happened multiple times over the past year and continues to happen more frequently once every 2 weeks now.

Vehicle fails to start multiple times when the battery and starter are in good condition. Common fixes that are recommended are replacing the wcm or the relay box. Sometimes the vehicle will start after multiple times and leaving the key cranked for 20 seconds+, but this isn't always reliable. Brought it into the shop and they couldnt recreate the issue, so it was never resolved for my case.

When it rains water leaks into the rear dome light and drips into the inside of my Jeep. The light doesn't work because of this and I would think this would be an electrocution hazard. I can't have anything in the back of my Jeep that could be ruined by rain water.

While randomly driving my check engine light and throttle light comes on. I've had my car to the dealer multiple times. The codes are P2135 and P0121. Dealer said they can't find anything wrong. They didn't clear the code. Went home and slept, next morning the lights are off. This has been a continuous issue. They replaced the throttle body December 2018, my gas pedal 2 months ago and part of my computer over a month ago and this is still happening. I've read in a bunch of forums this is common but no one has a solution. Dealer said my wiring harness was fine and they can't find the problem but don't want to replace the throttle position sensor even though it's under warranty. Help

While leaving a parking lot on or about April 15 2019, the vehicle kept killing when I attempted to accelerate. We had the vehicle towed to the dealership. We were told that the PCM had shorted out and had to be replaced. The new PCM was installed on April 20, 2019. The same problem started again on April 24, 2019. The vehicle had to be towed again to the dealership. The dealership traced the wires in the vehicle for over a week and contacted me on May 1, 2019 stating that they had determined that there was problem with the ignition coil which was corrected. We picked up the vehicle at approxiimately 5:00 P.M.on May 1st, drove the vehicle home about 10 miles, tried starting the vehicle 1 hour later and the same problem again. We will now have to have the vehicle towed for the 3rd time for the same issue. Why haven't the 2015 Jeep Patriots been recalled?

I was driving on a freeway (about 60 miles per hour) and all of a sudden my car 's lights on the dashboard came on (engine, electronic stability, lightening bolt) the power seemed to be draining from my vehicle, I could not longer accelerate. I almost got hit in the back, luckily there was an exit that was close so the car behind me was able to take a forced exit to avoid from hitting me. Unable to determine what happened, I turned on my hazards and pull over on the shoulder and turned my car off. I waited for about 10 minutes and hesitantly decided to try to restart the car. I was able to restart it, only to go about 2 miles and it happen again. I exited the freeway and took back streets all the way home to keep me from getting into a wreck. This continued to happen about 4 times until I made it home and park it. This car has been a headache ever since I bought it brand new. One month after I bought it, the gas tank sunk and pretty much fell into the car so deep that I could no longer get the pump to the tank to fill gas. About a week after that, the wheels started squealing, and this was unable to be fixed. The bolts that are used under the hood do not fit the car so things would constantly loosen as I drove it and eventually are repositioned even though they are replaced by the service departments at the Jeep dealerships. There's substance much like adhesive glue throughout the car on certain parts which doesn't make sense if this car was bought brand new. All around poorly made car, you will end up paying the double the amount valued based on the repairs. Horrible. Hold this maker accountable, there should be a recall on this vehicle. Lives are at danger.

On March 8, 2019, while driving at approximately 45 mph on a rural road, the engine stalled causing the car to lose power steering and the rpms to drop to 0. there was no check engine light indication that anything was wrong. On this occasion I was unable to restart the vehicle and had it towed to the dealership for repairs. The dealership stated that the battery failed diagnostic tests and replaced the battery. On March 22, 2019 while idling at a red light, the engine stalled again causing the rpms to drop to 0. I attempted to restart the vehicle and after two attempts the vehicle restarted and a check engine light was illuminated. I was able to drive to the nearest dealership where it was diagnosed that the camshaft/crankshaft sensor was malfunctioning. After subsequent research I located safety recall S89 / NHTSA 16-V-907 crankshaft camshaft sensor wire harness issued in February 2017 affecting 2016 Dodge journey, 2016 Jeep compass and 2016 Jeep Patriot.

Takata recall our radio stop working, then the horn, then the air bag light came on and stays on. The next thing to go out was the power train control module, Jeep paid for that but we had to pay for the throttle body, which wasn't cheap $573. And still did not fix radio, horn, or airbag light. I was at a intersection when this happened.
