My Jeep is 4 years old and has 55,000 miles. I leased it brand new and have been the only driver. It has never been in an accident and all of a sudden the A/C is hissing and not blowing cold. I have contacted the Jeep dealer and they said they cannot help me since it is out of the 36,000 mile warranty. I had it diagnosed and it supposedly has a leak in the condenser and another hose.. I did not do anything for this to happen. This is not normal taking into account the miles are so low and it has been cared for so well. I believe it is due to faulty manufacturing or parts. Thank you.

Car has 60000 miles on it. I went to turn the car on and all service lights popped up (transmission service, check engine and oil change). Went to put car and drive and would not go out of park. I used the shift lock release to get out of gear and once in drive or reverse, car would not move and only engine would rev. After researching, I found many other Jeep Renegades had a computer issue where it needed to be reset. Dealership wont fix unless under warranty.

Air conditioner wont hold anti freeze. Dealership says the ac compressor unit has shrapnel in it and needs to be replaced and they would not do it because it happens to ac units sometimes and not covered under warranty. (ac units should last longer than 3 years!)

I was on a highway going 65mph and my engine cut off, steering locked up, and I had no control of breaks or anything. I could not get over or even put my hazards on to signal to other drivers I could not stop or get to another lane. When a tow truck arrived he tried a new battery and everything and could not even get the car in neutral to be able to tow it to the side of the road. Had to get special truck there to get the car to safety and a shop. After getting to the shop they said it was an issue with my water pump that caused everything to shut down suddenly.

Sometimes when I start my car the traction control light is on (meaning traction control is off) this has happened twice in the last month. It turns on just fine when I press the button and the light goes away. Until yesterday I was driving I was accelerating at the bottom of a small hill about to reach the bottom of it. (I was going 15-20mph) the light flashed on and of really fast (like strobe light fast) and my car felt like the break was pressed and let go with the light. While I was trying to speed up the car wouldn't. (like if you went break, gas, break, gas ect, ) this happened for a couple seconds till I let go of the gas and it stopped. And everything went back to normal. While this was happening I also heard a grinding sound I'm not sure when it came from. This was on a straight city street the car was in automation mode with the 4 wheel drive mode set to automate. After this I went to a authorized dealer/mechanic. I don't remember what he said but he said my car was on a recall and I know for a fact that he is lying because I have checked multiple times 2 recalls for this type of car have been made and none effect my vehicle.(check by VIN number) I can't trust the mechanic to look at the problem.

The radiator fan malfunctioned then died. The vehicle is only 3 years old with 34,600 miles and weeks outside of the manufacturer's warrantee expiration date. This repair cost me $667. In checking with other owners of the same vehicle in the Jeep Renegade community, this seems to be a widespread problem. However, Jeep has not issued a recall.

While idling at a stop light, the cooling fan could be heard making a weird noise, followed by a strong odor. This happened one time earlier while idling and the air conditioning was on. The strong odor made me take it to a shop near me for fear of driving it. Luckily it was colder than usual or it would have overheated. Upon looking into the issue and having my cooling fan replaced, I found it was a common issue in the 2016 models, and has been fixed for (or part of) the 2017 models. I checked with the dealership and they confirmed no official recalls were sent, and I don't understand why. Luckily, I got this replaced before something bad happened, but I've spoken with numerous other Renegade owners who had the vehicles break down and had to be towed to shops for repairs. I did have an extended warranty, but because I took it to shop near me (for fear of driving it) instead of the dealership, they only covered part of the repair which was about $200 out of my $550 bill. I don't understand why these are being left out on the road when it is a known issue. The dealer who provided the part even had multiple fans in stock, indicating this is a common problem.

My air in my 2016 Jeep Renegade stopped working right at the 41,000/ 42,000 milage mark. I tried to replace the freon myself, as I thought it was an easy fix, not so. You have to purchase the new freon and have special tools to access it. I then began researching. Seems this model / make is known to run out of freon right after the warranty. You heard me...after the warranty! plus, they make it so you have to take it to the shop. I have been a loyal Jeep customer for years, but this has me frustrated and pissed quite frankly. It is ridiculous! fix the problem if you know it is happening....but it is a money maker. I will be spreading the word on every social media site I can get my hands on. I am also BBB'ing this horrible experience. Oh, and the local dealers can not stock the freon, due to the exorbitant price. Screwing the customers as usual!

At 28,600 miles car started making loud noise under the hood so I decided to open the hood and take a look I notice that the fan was wobbling so much and it was hitting some other parts. Car then started overheating and smoking. After taking the car to the dealer they checked my car and said that it would be dangerous if I drive the car in that condition because I could have an accident. The cooling fan module and fuse had to be replaced. They mentioned it was a very common problem for this car.

The vacuum hose on this model constantly breaks. It broke as soon as I bought it. Have replaced multiple times. Last time was September and it has already broken again. The service tech told me that they see it all the time on this model. It was the second time they had seen a broken vacuum hose on a Renegade just that day! why has there never been a recall to address this"??????"
