1. fueling the vehicle. 2. when fuelling my 2006 Jeep Wrangler unlimited, gasoline will abruptly backflow out of the filler neck and spray all over as the tank gets close to being full. It happens so quickly and violently that the auto shutoff on the gas hose does not stop it. This will happen any time I attempt to fill the tank to full. Consequences: As a result, I have had gasoline sprayed all over me numerous times including getting it in my eyes. Also, gasoline gets all over the side of the vehicle and leaves puddles of gas on the ground creating a fire hazard. I must stop fuelling before the tank is full to prevent this from happening. Overall this is a life safety hazard and I feel it needs to be addressed.

When filling the gas tank on my 2006 Jeep Wrangler X, the tank overflows a few cups of gasoline out of the filler opening after the pump handle shuts off. This results in gasoline pouring onto the pavement and down the side of my Jeep - and also sometimes onto my feet! this is now a documented problem with many Jeep, and Chrysler should be required to recall and fix this problem immediately! I would not be surprised if gas station owners start banning Jeep from filling up, since the Jeep are causing gasoline to be spilled onto gas station pavement on a regular basis!

Every time I fill the fuel tank on my 2006 Jeep Wrangler it splashes fuel out upon reaching full. This is not just a little fuel, but a lot. It surges out all down the vehicle and onto the ground. I've contacted my dealer several times about this issue and they say it's a known problem with my type of vehicle and there currently is no fix. They suggest not filling the tank completely full. This is hard to accomplish because there is no way to tell when the tank is getting full. This is a dangerous and environmentally unfriendly problem that needs to be addressed!

My Jeep does not stop the pump before it is close to being full causing the gas to overflow from my tank and leak out all over the car, it is a common defect among Chrysler.

During refueling - the tank fills up fine except for the "final" moment. At the time a normal system registers "full" the refueling handle will click "off" and stop the fuel flow into the filler neck. In my instance, the refueling handle does click/shut off, but about a pint of fuel spits out onto the side of the vehicle and the ground. I have attempted many different methods, I.e. repositioning the refueling handle, filling fast or slow, different grades of fuel, different gas stations and even different stations in different states. The only thing that seemed to help was using a fuel additive every 2nd fill up, but the problem always resurfaces. Through research, the general public seems to suspect a faulty "roll over valve" which can only be replaced by replacing the fuel tank.

Every time I fill up my gas tank the pump doesn't shut off and it overfills the tank causing fuel to spill everywhere. It doesn't matter which pump or gas station I use it happens every time. The solution is unknown to fix the problem.

1. I get low on fuel and need to refuel my Wrangler. 2. gas overflows the tank filler tube and spills fuel all over the back of the vehicle, tires, ground, and depending where I am standing, me. It occurs just about every time I fill me vehicle up, at many different stations with different nozzle types. 3. there has been nothing done to correct the problem.

I purchased an '06 Jeep Wrangler SE, completely stock. From the first time I refueled to this day if I let it fill up all the way gas comes pouring out after the pump clicks off. I have tried other stations, its the Jeep's fault. Since then I have search forums with similar complaints with no real answers. Most have the dealership reinstall a new gas tank. I gave out enough money for the Wrangler, I wasn't planning on shelling out more this soon.

My 2006 Jeep Wrangler started blowing back gas out of the tank everytime I fill it up. I have tried to be ultra careful to stop it when it sounds like it's getting full, but even then within a couple of seconds it still overflows out onto the vehicle, the ground and me. It has been on going since my Jeep hit around 35,000 miles.

On 2006 Jeep Wrangler the fuel overflows at every fuel up. Fuel sprays out after the nozzle auto shut off clicks off, approx 1-2 seconds. This is clearly a defect in design of the tanks internal flapper valve.

Sprays person operating gas pump, pours gas down rear fender. To correct failure I have stopped filling my tank, only buying gas in smaller increments.

Gas pumps do not properly shut off and overflow of fuel is spilled onto the ground. I have read that this is a problem with the gas tank design of many different types of Jeep Wrangler but Chrysler refuses to acknowledge the problem.

I have a 2006 Jeep Wrangler X, there is a fault from the factory gas tank, which when I fill my tank with fuel it does not allow the pump to auto shut off, and spews a decent amount of gas from the vehicle. This happens when ever I fill up. I have not found a way to correct this issue, and the only thing that seems to be happening to fix it, is replacing the tank with an oe style tank that has the same faulty valve inside it.
