A majority of the times that I fill my gas tank it overflows. I put the nozzle in and begin filling the tank and then it clicks off and immediately after the click fuel comes out of the filler and onto my Jeep and the ground and my shoes and my hands if they are close to the pump. From what I've read, I'm not the only one with this problem with a Jeep vehicle.

When fueling up with gas, the nozzle will shut off when tank is full and gas will then overflow out of the tank fill spout. This happens at every fueling at every gas station now. This is a sudden and new occurrence as the vehicle has never done this prior to this year. ( I have owned since new 2006) as imagined gas will flow out onto the vehicle, ground, person filling gas, etc.

Since I've bought my Wrangler in December 2009 the gas tank will overflow and spill out enough gas to cover the vehicle on the side below the gas cap and spill a puddle on to the ground. I've read numerous complaints about this issue and there is no recall currently out there for it. I feel this is a hazard because it means something is being left open inside the tank to allow the gas to overflow outof the fill tube. On top of this every time I fill the vehicle up im spilling gas onto the ground which is both an environmental concern and a safety issue.

Almost always get a "splash back" when fueling vehicle as gas station! very hard to listen and decipher if full, I try to guess how many gallons I need to fill up. Spills out gas on the vehicle, on the ground, and on your feet! I have read that many of these vehicles are having the same complaint, without a recall, and it is not the gas pumps problem.

Every time I fill the tank with gasoline, it spews out and runs out on the ground and down the vehicle side. This did not occur when the vehicle was new, it started when the vehicle was about two years old. It does, however, happen every time I fill the tank, now. It seems to me that this is not only a fire hazard, but a big environmental hazard.

My 2006 Jeep Wrangler unlimited has just started having an issue where the gas spews out of the fill neck before the pump handle clicks off. This has happened the last 3 times I have filled up. This is at a station where I have filled up many times without incident. Not only does this get gas on my vehicle and person, this spills gas all over the pump handle and ground at the station. This is a major inconvenience to myself, damaging to my vehicles paint, and most importantly dangerous. I have read of a large number of individuals with this issue on their Jeep vehicles. I would expect Jeep would be responsible for correcting this issue due to the dangerous, wasteful, and simply unacceptable condition. For me personally, I don't expect that with 46K miles on my Jeep that this should happen, and be the responsibility of the owner to fix. I hope that there can be some action taken to hold Jeep responsible, and remedy this (common) issue. Thank you.

When filling up at the gas station gas spews out of the tank when it nears full splashing everything within a foot of the car including at times myself. This happens each and every time I try to fill up. I always have to try to stop the pump before it's full. If I so choose to try to fill the tank I have to try to listen to determine when the gas might spew back out on me and let me tell you that's definitely not a fool proof method as I've been sprayed with gas numerous times trying this method. If I try to fill the tank and stand away from the tank so as to miss the spray then gas spews everywhere; on the ground, back on the gas pump itself, and down the side of my car; which by the way damages the paint. This is a huge danger not only to myself but to others as well. I can't believe that Chrysler offered a recall on other years with the exact same problem but not on this model year. They've acknowledged that this is an issue in their Jeep so why not offer a recall on all years with this problem? I'm sorely disappointed that Chrysler cares so little for their customers safety and even the safety of the general public since they could be affected by the spewing gas as well. We shouldn't have to pay for a manufacturer's defect.
