I purchased a 2007 Jeep Wrangler from a local dealership in Phoenix Az.......Over the past 2.5 years I have had it to 3 dealership service centers (total of 10 times) and a alignment shop that specializes in off road vehicles for the dreaded DEATH WOBBLES!!! I have had my tires "road force balanced", the damper has been replaced, the front end has been aligned......etc. ect .etc..........The "wobbles have been so bad that the weld that holds the damper on the front axle snapped off . My jeep Wrangler does have a 4" lift on it ( lift was installed before I purchased it from the dealer) Basically the jeep looks the exact same way it did since the day I bought it....No modifications. I dropped it off again today for the same issues ive been experiencing for the entire duration that I've had the Vehicle....Death Wobbles! I know Im not alone.......as i have been reading about others with this same problem.....I am tired of the "Band aid fixes" the dealerships have attempted. Selling my problem DEATH TRAP to someone else is not an option, I want to be able to sleep at night. This Jeep problem "WE" as jeep owners are experiencing is going to kill someone if it hasn't already!!!!! I have literally driven this vehicle less then 2000 in the past 6 months........but still have a car payment due each month. I just want my 2007 Wrangler fixed ...correctly no more Quick fixes!! I would love to hear from anyone else having these same problems or how you fixed them...............HELP!!

Just Google "Jeep Wrangler Death Wobble" and you'll find countless forum postings, articles and even videos of the problem I'm having. Like many others, I nearly wound up in a potentially fatal accident as my 2007 Jeep Wrangler with less than 36k miles on it shook extremely violently as I drove 65 mph on my way home from work. Hit a small bump on the interstate and suddenly the whole front end is shaking back and forth, as I try desperately to get the steering wheel under control. It felt as if the front wheels were going to fall off, if the Jeep didn't just fall apart altogether first. I slowed down to 40 mph and that stopped it - luckily, there wasn't anyone directly behind me. My Jeep is (at least I thought...) in great condition - never been in an accident, never taken off-road, not lifted, and regularly serviced as per OEM recommendations. Last Spring, I brought the Jeep in to the Dealership and asked for a full inspection prior to my warranty expiring. They said the steering dampener needed replacing, so I had them do so. Then, about a month or so ago - my first wobble. It was subtle, and I didn't think much of it. I had another small one maybe a month ago. But the one I described above changed everything. I brought it into two non-dealership mechanics and both of them verified issues with the front end stabilization. The bottom line, upwards of $900 of repairs -- using non-Chrysler parts (because the parts ARE the problem, and replacing them would likely cause the problem to cocur 10-15k miles down the road.)
After doing more research on the net - and seeing just how many others are having the same -- EXTREMELY DANGEROUS - problem, and then being told by the Chrysler case manager that he "has never heard of anyone with the same problem..." was enough to push me over the edge. It is obvious that this is a widespread problem. And as usually, it will likely take multiple deaths before Chrysler does the responsible thing and issue a recall to fix this problem. They'll just continue to feign ignorance to the problem unless we get enough of a demand to force them to do the right thing. Everyone I talk to and describe my problem says the same thing - "Jeep used to make the most durable vehicles around....what happened?" Anyway, I'd appreciate any help from others facing this same problem. Help by contacting Chrysler, the NHTSA, and report the problem. Contact me if you're interested - or know of - a class action suit against Chrysler to demand a recall or to recoup costs associated with "fixing" this issue. My jeep now has just under 36,000 miles on it! It's completely unacceptable that I should be faced with upwards of a $1,000 worth of repairs - to HOPEFULLY fix the problem.
