Jeep Wrangler was 3 days old with 713 miles on it. On July 24th after driving 130 miles from foxboro to rochester nh, about 4:15 pm, I pulled into a shell station to fuel the vehicle up. My 3 year old and 6 year old were in the back seat. As I was filling the vehicle someone ran over and pointed to the underside where a large volume of fluid was spilling. It was gasoline coming from the fuel tank. It was pouring onto the very hot exhaust pipe and vaporizing.I notified Chrysler Monday morning of the severity of the safety failure and received complaint number 19760031. I contacted the service center at the dealer requesting that the failed tank be evaluated and not tampered with. He indicated that it was clear there was a manufacturing defect in a bond joint in the fuel tank.

2010 Jeep Wrangler when fill gas tank always over flows on first click from pump.
- Salem, WV, USA
When fueling up my 2005 Jeep Wrangler the pump stops, but seems to have pressure built up in the tank because fuel spills out all over. Usually averages about 4-8 inch in diameter puddle on the ground. This happens every time I fill up and has been doing this for the past 9 months.

Brand new Jeep Wrangler. First fuel up (and subsequent) fill ups result in massive gush of fuel out the filler neck when pump stops.

While filling up, the gas receptacle allows fuels pumps to keep filling past the point of usual cut-off. Resulting in gas spraying all over myself and the vehicle.
