While driving moderate speed on a rural rd (est miles 115K), all red & yellow lights came on, "no bus" light came on which is not listed in the ops manual, windshield wipers came on, RPM gauge went to zero, fuel gauge went to empty, engine light flashing and engine running rough to possible stall. Within a period of time 10 min or so everything came back to normal and Jeep ran ok. This has happen to my wife who is a rural mail carrier on many occasions. In fact in 1 week it happened every day and it has happened many times over a long period. Jeep service folks don't know what is causing the problem as the codes do not pin point the problem. They "think" possibility it could be pwr fuse box, main computer or fwd instrument panel ea at a cost of over $1000 to replace. Service folks want T Jeep brought to them with lights on, gauges zero, engine light flashing but it's an intermittent problem and they are 30 miles or more away depending where the problem happens. Service folks have had the Jeep for a total of 3 days in Jan & Feb and drove it over 150 mile and the problem never appeared. In Feb 2015 while driving (24,171 miles) the engine light came "on" and Jeep stalled in the middle of the road. It was restarted and driven so Jeep was then taken to dealer and they found that a fault code said "wiring does not have enough slack between sensor & wiring causing poor connection". replaced cam sensor & wiring. Fault cleared. Have photos of dash with "all lights and gauges showing zero and no bus light on and wipers going back and forth. I'll send if you need them but it all lights and gauges which are depicted in the ops manual. This possible engine stalling while driving and possible electrical fire is a safety issue. This problem has occurred over many months throughout 2018.

Check engine light. Mechanic told me it would cost about one thousand dollars for the repair of the oil sensor switch located inside the engine. The vehicle has about 31K miles and I'm the original owner. Please lmk if this is a common problem. [xxx]. my name is [xxx] vehicle is rarely used. 2014 Wrangler has known faulty oil pressure sending unit sensor as there was a tsb on July 15, 2014 stating such. Tsb # 18-034-14 rev. A and rrt 14-046. 1,000 miles short of the 3 yr, 36K mile warranty, but 6 months past the 3 year and Jeep wants $411 to fix their known problem. Jeep states since it is a sensor, it not covered by the longer powertrain warranty.

I have an engine failure code 520 for the oil pressure switch or harness with only 8315 miles on this vehicle. I found a Jeep forum that described this problem in detail and stated that this has been an ongoing problem since 2012 with this vehicle. It was also stated that to replace the defective oil pressure switch the intake manifold and fuel injector rail would need to be removed. That is a little more complicated than what I am willing to try. This should be handled under a recall or at least an extended warranty for consumer protection.

The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Wrangler. While driving 10 mph, the radio stopped working as well as other buttons on the instrument panel and the steering wheel. Before discovering the failure, the contact heard an audio indicator and a message displayed for an oil change. Afterwards, the oil change display warning was no longer visible, only the audio indicator. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who advised the contact to research online for open recalls. The contact found NHTSA campaign number: 16V288000 (air bags), but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not made of the failure and the vehicle was not taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing or repairs. The failure mileage was 42,000.

The radio would not come on after vehicle start up then would after the battery was disconnected then reconnected. Problem continued disconnecting battery stopped working and power window controlls malfunctioned and started working again. Radio still does not work and will sometimes come on with bright screen and a very loud sound while driving. Dealership states not a warrenty issue. Anotjer mechanic states it is tipm issue and was recalled in other Dodge. Also engine light stays on.

The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the tire pressure warning indicator illuminated and remained illuminated even with sufficient air in the tires. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign number: 14V632000 (tires) to the dealer (barnett Chrysler Jeep, 3430 hwy 61 N, white bear lake, mn) and was informed that there was no such recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA. The failure mileage was approximately 64,000.

Vehicle check engine light came on shortly after regular service at the dealer. Returned to have it checked, was told that the issue was caused by a faulty oil pressure sensor. The location of the sensor requires removal of the intake manifold, fuel injector's and rails, etc., resulting in approx. 4 hours of labor at the dealer. The dealer advised that they have "seen thousands of these sensor's fail on the 3.6 engine". there is a tsb; 18-034-14 rev. A, documenting complaints. Because the vehicle has 41K miles on it, the dealer will not cover the cost of the repair. I called the manufacturer to complain about the fact there apparently is no recall on this defective item. I was told that I could do nothing, except for put in a complaint about the dealer. I told them that the dealer is not the problem, it is the manufacturer who refuses to issue a recall despite the fact there are numerous instances of this part failing across their product line. Was told to complain to NHTSA.

Overnight failure while parked: Started Jeep in the morning and discovered no interior dome light upon entering, no turn signals, no headlights, no wiper controls, no steering wheel controls, no seat heaters, no esp control. Troubleshooting revealed a grounded clock spring causing critical system failures rendering the vehicle unsafe to drive. These same clock springs were recalled by NHTSA on May 11, 2016 under campaign number 16V288000 ( https://www.NHTSA.gov/recalls?nhtsaid=16V288) only on right-hand drive vehicles for "contamination failures" causing air bag failures where they were replaced and a more protective steering wheel trim shroud was installed. It's safe to say that the left-hand drive vehicles are experiencing the same failure and are no more exempt from these contamination failures. It's also safe to say, I have the same failure and the same air bag malfunction that, thankfully, I did not discover. Thank god I was not in an accident where the air bag didn't fire, or I would have had need to hire an attorney.

Jeep was totally dead on 8/9/2017...I replaced battery and it cranked but none of the electrical controls on steering column work, I.e. blinkers, horn, lights, stereo controls, wind shield wipers..etc. (anything on the steerimg column minus the ignition switch). I took it to a mechanic and he stated the ipcm is bad and needs to be replaced. Mechanic stated he has seen 3 off these this week alone from Chrysler products. It is a 2014 with 40K miles, never been off round. Check engine light came on about a month ago with the code P054C but went off at the next crank up and hadnt come on again. Why would this part just fail? it's nothing I did. Sounds like a faulty part.

Jeep Wrangler steering column electrical issues, possibly related to tipm issues with other Jeep/chrylser/Dodge vehicles. Issue occurred when starting vehicle in parking lot at night. Jeep lights would not turn on even though lights were in the on position from the steering column left stem for lights. Repeated on/off attempts, including vehicle restarts, did not fix no lights issue. When the steering wheel was rotated the lights suddenly turned on. Other related issue is intermittent windshield wiper cycle when windshield wipers are in the off position on the right stem of the steering wheel column.

Randomly the instrument panel gauges would go crazy, the "idiot" lights would come on, and if the cruise control is on, that will disengage. I've had other incidents where the vehicle would not have any power when the key was engaged, until 4 different times of trying it. Also when starting the engine, the starter would continue to crank even with the key disengaged.

My neighbor heard a few explosions and went outside to see what was going on. He took the attached picture after he called the fire department. Clockspring recall (NHTSA recall # 16V-288) ( manuf recall # S40) affects not only the airbag but.. also....."causes a non working horn". no horn is a safety hazard by not having it working at any time while operating (stopped or driving) the Jeep. Jeep dealers have "no" est of when repair part will be available"??" ""not acceptable on the part of Jeep/Chrysler!!!!!''' the consumer stated the steering wheel wires, engine rockers, front U joints, engine harness and fuel injector harness, front drive shaft adn suspension all failed and needed to be repaired. The vehicle lost steering while driving. The front axle assembly bracket had broken.

On 5/6/16 I went to start my 2014 Jeep Wrangler unlimited rubicon and the engine did not make a noise but the dash lit up like a christmas tree. The windows had power and radio worked but the door lock or alarm did not work. I towed it to the dealer and was advised that it was a common problem and was called the "tipm module" which is basically the entire fuse box and part of the computer. I was stuck there in North Carolina from Maryland for four exra days. Now after getting back home to Maryland on 6/5/16 I go to try and accelorate onto the highway from a ramp and the transmission revs to 5,500 RPM but the Jeep will not accelerate. I have to ease off the gas and let it accelerate very slowly. Thank god no trucks were coming or it could have beed and extremely dangerous situation considering it was interstate 95 by 175 where semi trucks go to the ta truck stop.

The TPMS light is always illuminated and the tire pressure is correct. I found a recall (NHTSA campaign 14V632000) (Chrysler #P63) for this issue, but was told by both Chrysler and the NHTSA that my particular vehicle is not on the recall list. It seems very coincidental that the exact year, make, and model of my vehicle shows up on the recall list, but not my vehicle which is experiencing the exact same problem that the recall was issued regarding.
