At highway speeds (60-80mph) the vehicle shakes violently after going over a bump or deformity in the road. Has occurred on multiple occasions. Everything shakes not just the steering wheel. Lasts until vehicle speed reduces.

This requires a drastic reduction of speed on the highway, along with tight control of the steering wheel. The speed reduction is potentially dangerous to you and other vehicles near you, let alone the violent shaking of the vehicle causing potential mechanical problems and human error. Quick fix at Jeep dealership replacing stabilizer acts as a band aid without any actual solution to the issue.

At highway speeds, 3 times now the steering wheel begins to shake quite violently and impeded one's ability to control the car. This condition appears to last until speed is significantly reduced. The Jeep Wrangler 4 door is a 2018 with less than 6K miles.

Vehicle purchased new from dealership. Within first 100 miles was traveling down hwy at approximately 70 miles per hour, I hit a bump in the road while bearing left. Truck started shaking violently. Steering wheel same. As truck slowed down shaking stopped... dealer replaced stability bar and stated problem was corrected... within first week of truck being returned, I was traveling on hwy, this time hit a bump in road while bearing right. Truck started shaking violently to the point I barely avoided an accident with a vehicle to my front and another to my side... vehicle was returned to dealership, this time spoke with general manager, was told as of yet their is no solution. Corporate will have to recommend a fix. I've owned this vehicle for approx 1 month and 2 weeks. It's been in dealers possession for this and numerous other problems for more than half that time. At time of first repair I asked dealership for repair paperwork, was told it was not ready, it would be mailed to me. At time of second I am still awaiting documentation from first incident which has still not been provided. First incident occurred 1/24/19. Dealer kept vehicle for approximately 20 days. Second incident occurred morning of 2/26/19 as of this writing.

My Jeep is very dangerous. The Jeep will only drive ok if you drive on a L newly paved and totally flat surface. - when you hit a bump there is an extended vibration, questionable handling characteristics and the car literally jumps lane and moves side to side without having any control over the vehicle. It happens every time I drive and repeatedly each time I drive. The Jeep also has the Jeep death wobble - the crazy vibration of the whole car. Both issues are worse at higher speeds but when it happens you have absolutely no control over the car.. the front end vibrations transition into the vehicle jumping lanes and movement that varies in severity due to speeds. It is very scary and very dangerous. I have brought the car to the dealer and both the dealership and Chrysler's special regional tech have confirmed this issue. It happens while in motion, on any street, at any speed, whether driving straight or turning - it happens all the time, at any moment with no notice. It happens every day you drive the car so hard but I put in todays date bc you asked for a date. It did happen today for Chrysler special regional tech too. It also happens at all speeds but is worse at higher speeds.

Loose steering, causes over correction at highway speeds. Suspect the lack of rigidity in the rubber bushings to be too soft, causing a half inch dead spot in the steering before the wheels adjust to the steering wheel input.

At speeds over 70 mph when I hit a bump or seam in the road the steering whell vibrates violently as if something has disconnected. After about 10 seconds it stops. This has happened 3 times in 2 weeks. Vehicle only has 4K miles on it. Any speed over 65 causes a looseness in the wheel on uneven pavement even when not vibrating. After inspection dealer contacted Chrysler and they advised replacing steering damper. Dealer advised to drive with caution till the part came in but I asked for a loaner as it obviousy unsafe to drive.

While driving at 40 mph the steering locked up and I could not turn. Applied brakes and additional pressure to steering wheel and was able to steer vehicle enough to avoid any collision, came to a stop and steering seemed to return to normal. This happened at about 9500 miles. This happened 1/19 was driving at 55 mph, and hit a dip in the road. The entire vehicle began to shake uncontrollably, went left of center, applied brakes and slowed vehicle down. Regained enough steering to return to my lane at about 10/15 mph. On coming traffic slowed to a stopped to assist in avoiding an accident. This happened at about 11000 miles. This happened 2/21/19

This evening while at highway speed (70mph) I crossed O er an overpass on a slight turn. Just after the overpass was a slight bump and my jl began shaking violently. I was certain that something had broken based upon how violently it ahook. I quickly pulled into the emergency lane and slowed to a stop. I visually inspected all tires and suspension components as best I could and saw no obvious damage/issue. I decided to attempt to continue slowly. I was able to make it to my destination and back home without further issues but needless to say I am very concerned about the safety of my jl. I had a great deal of difficulty controlling the vehicle during this episode. I will be contacting my Jeep dealership first thing in the morning. I love my jl but I am very concerned about its safety.

Leased the Jeep Wrangler jl in October 2019. Within 3 weeks, the "Jeep wobble" occurred on the highway at a speed of 65 mph. Going over a bridge, the car hit a connector in road and started shaking violently. I was in the left lane and had to slow the car down immediately as it felt out of control, causing cars behind me to brake. I moved over a lane and the car stopped shaking once I slowed down below 50mph. I brought the car in to dealership and was told it's not under recall and it's not a safety issue. I completely disagree that it's not a safety issue as dodging cars on the highway in order to slow my car down while it shakes violently is clearly a safety issue for everyone on the road. The dealership installed a dampener. I finally got the car back after a week and within days, the same thing happened on the highway. I brought the car back in to the dealership where I was told they were contacting Chrysler to see if they installed the part correctly. My car was there for another week while they waited for Chrysler to return their phone call. They installed a stronger part, I was told and then finally had my car back. Within a couple of weeks, the wobble happened again. I dropped the car back at the dealership last week on 2/13 where it remains. I have not received word on what is being done at this point. Extremely frustrating as we are leasing this car and it's been at the dealership for almost 4 weeks total, which is one month payment without me even driving the car. We are looking into lemon law since this particular vehicle is not part of any recall. Again, this is a major safety concern for the driver and passengers in the car. I have 2 kids that travel with me in that Jeep and am never comfortable driving on the highway as I never know when that violent shake will happen.
