We have a loose/play in the steering on our 2018 Jeep Wrangler jl rubicon, mostly at highway speeds, it's difficult to keep the vehicle in it's lane when driving, it requires constant steering wheel correction to keep the vehicle going in a straight line, it feels like the steering wheel has to much play between turning the wheel and the tires turning. We have had it to our local dealer here in jacksonville, fl and they haven't been able to resolve this issue.

Any description of the Jeep death wobble I have read is exactly what I am experiencing. I experienced my first incident while driving my 2018 Jeep Wrangler unlimited that I had purchased two months earlier. At highway speed's between 70 and 75 miles an hour if the vehicle hits a bump or a joint in a bridge well often begin to wobble and become almost violence. It will subside plan decreasing speed or holding the speed for about a mile or so. I brought it in to the Jeep service department and they said they see nothing wrong with the vehicle. I am at the point now where I can almost make it happen on command. My next step is to bring the mechanic in for a test drive with me. From what I've read I expect nothing to be done to help me out. I will also note that there are no modifications whatsoever to my car.

Vehicle exhibits vague, wandering steering. It could be described as jittery under certian conditions like bumpy roads while passing trucks. More alarming is the so called death wobble that occurs under certain conditions while traveling at high speed on highways and will not subside until the vehicle speed is reduced drastically to an unsafe speed for interstate travel.

On several occasions my 2018 Jeep Wrangler jlu has experienced steering wobble while traveling on the highway at 60+ mph after hitting a bump such as a bridge joint. The wobble makes it difficult to maintain control of the vehicle until speed is reduced. My Jeep is unmodified and has around 3000 miles on it.

My new Wrangler jl, approximately 6500 miles on it, is experiencing the same issue others have described on these new vehicles with the "death wobble." The first time it happened, I was on the freeway and crossed over a bridge. As the vehicle went over the bump where the bridge meets the pavement, the car started shaking violently. I assumed I had a flat tire and started to pull over. As soon as my car went below 50 mph, the wobble stopped. It happens every time I drive on the freeway now, although not every time I hit a bump. The most recent time was today when it shook at its most violent pace yet, and I was actually only going about 55mph when it happened. I believe it is getting worse. When it first happened, I was on a three hour drive and it only happened twice. On the way back, it happened 3 times. Since then, it feels like it happens every time I get on the freeway, and usually I'm only on the freeway for 5 minutes at most. I have had the car since June. It didn't happen at all until November 2nd and now it happens all the time. The wobble can be very significant and there is no way this vehicle is not sustaining damage with that kind of wobble, not to mention it scares me when it happens and I'm close to other cars on the freeway at 65+mph. When I'm going at freeway speeds, slowing down significantly can cause an accident. It is not drivable for more than a few moments when it is wobbling so significantly, the driver has to slow down.

I have had the "death wobble" since May. I've gone through 3 stabilizers, all on my dime, because my original stabilizer was damaged. Have taken my Jeep to two dealers and two offroad shops. The offroad shops insist nothing is wrong with my lift, and it's an fca issue. Dealer does not take it seriously because of the lift, and tells me to replace stabilizer. The "issue" is causing me to go through multiple stabilizers as they go bad attempting to prevent the "death wobble"

Driving at 60 mph in the interstate I-79, after going through a small road bump, severe shaking of the steering system took place (steering wheel and whole vehicle), which only went away by slowly braking down to reduce the spped. The car has about 7,500 miles only and I have experienced wobble steering, 3 times in similar condiions between 55 and 65 mph. Each time I was driving on a flat straight line.

This is my 9th Jeep Wrangler and I have never had one that exhausted me so much to drive it. It is totally stock with 4000 miles on it. Wish I still had my jk.

I have approximately 6,000 miles on my brand new 2018 jl Wrangler rubicon that has the mopar factory 2" lift, installed by the dealer. The mopar lift was installed appropriately, but yet the springs are curved, bent, and not straight. Chrysler put out a statement that this is normal, as basically all mopar lift installed on the new jl Wrangler has bent springs. This is only the beginning, because now my brand new jl Wrangler has death wobble. If you are in a vehicle that has death wobble, you would know why they call it death wobble. At varying speeds, mostly in the 35 to 45mph range, a small bump on the road causes the steering wheel and the tires to violently and uncontrollably go back and forth. The only way to stop this is to brake and slow down quickly. As you can imagine, if someone in front of you brakes suddenly, it can be very dangerous. The dealership will not fix the lift as they say curved springs are normal. They diagnosed the main problem to be a steering stabilizer, which is no back order. So, a company makes a defective product that puts the general public in danger, and their part to fix the problem is on back order. The steering stabilizer, according to mechanics is a band aid fix and really doesn't fix the main problem. Even the "Jeep guy" at the dealership indicated that it isn't a steering stabilizer.

'death wobble' experienced again. Traveling over 70mph on the pa turnpike and hit a small bump when my steering wheel began to shake violently. I had to pull off the side of the rode to fix the problem. I have a stock 2018 Jeep Wrangler unlimited sahara. I had a stock 2015 Jeep Wrangler unlimited sahara prior to this and never experienced this issue. It is very dangerous.

I almost feel like I am going to lose control and have had to pull over on the side of the highway to get this to correct itself. This needs fixed.

I bought the Jeep over the phone so did not drive it before purchase. Upon taking delivery I noticed it seemed to be hard to keep in my lane, but attributed this to not being familiar with the vehicle. The more I drove the vehicle I realized it was not normal. It wanders or drifts and is very hard, if not impossible to keep in my lane. I took to the Jeep dealer and was told it was normal. I did some on line research and discovered that many owners of this product are having similar problems. The dealer here acknowledges they are having a lot of complaints but nothing they can do. I contacted Jeep and they had me take it back to check tightness of steering components and align the front end. This did not help at all. Contacted Jeep again and was told someone would be calling me back. No one did. This vehicle is unsafe to drive. If you look at complaints online you will soon discover that Jeep is aware of the issue, but doing nothing. Someone is going to get hurt. I, many times have drifted into the lane next to me and there is so much play in the steering that it is hard to correct. When I go over a narrow bridge a try to stay as far from side of bridge to avoid hitting the side of the bridge. I have had many others drive the vehicle to verify what I am saying and every person has had an alarmed response. The vehicle is unsafe to drive, and Jeep knows it.

When driving at highway speeds (about 55mph-70mph) if the Jeep hits a minor bump, it will violently shake. Both the steering wheel, wheels and the entire car are affected. You can notice the violent shaking/vibrations from outside the car. The only way the shaking stops is by slowing down significantly. It has happened several times since I've had the car, which is only a few months old and is stock. Nothing is lifted or modified.

When driving on the highway at speeds around 70-75 mph the vehicle will hit a bump and the steering and Jeep will start shaking violently for 3-6 seconds or until vehicle slows down. At highway speeds this is a long distance. Driving is unsafe when this occurs. One place in particular is extremely dangerous is a bridge transition on pellissippi parkway the bridge transition is on an uphill turn and it is hard to keep the steering wheel in the correct placement to stay in the lane. There is a barrier on one side and traffic on the other. The steering wheel is shaking and the entire Jeep is shaking. The problem started occurring with 14,000 miles on the Jeep
