We purchased this car brand new in 2011. It has been serviced and never in an accident. At 104,000 miles, the airbag light came on and now is not working properly. If an accident were to occur, I'm afraid the airbag system will fail resulting in preventable injuries/death. After researching this issue, there have been multiple complaints filed concerning the airbag system.

Airbag sensor light came on indicating there is a problem with the airbag. I have never been in an accident, I bought the car new, and I am the only driver. It just came on the other day and has not turned off. I am afraid that the airbag will not deploy in a crash.

I have had my 2011 Kia Sorento for 2 years now and at about 115K miles after starting the car the air bag indicator light came on and will not go off. After researching, it appears that this is a common problem. I suggest that Kia looks into this and issues a recall since this is a obvious problem and I like others carry children as passengers and do not feel safe anymore and am looking into other auto manufacturers.

Passenger airbag sensor is on and will not turn off. Online research shows this to be a common issue with the Kia Sorento. Kia has offered no fix or recall. Despite this being a wide spread issue with the Sorento, multiple years.

I bought my car in 2011 by 2013 the rear passenger door does not open at all, driver side wont open from out side. Then 2014 ABS light on, controls on steering wheel for phone, cruise and volume don't work. Shifting to park or drive isn't catching all the time, and door locks click open & close randomly. I do not feel safe driving my car.

The airbag light has came on. Kia marked it as bad and I had a second diagnostic done at a shop I have been going to for over 6 years. It came back that there is a manufacture issue. Something I have no control of messing up. I have never been in a car accident so that has nothing to do with it. It's been on for 1 month now. My warranty expired and now Kia won't fix it. They warned me that if in a car accident my airbags will not deploy. Apparently there are many people online complaining about this issue. I have children I commute with everyday and I think Kia should have a recall on this to avoid lawsuit in the future. What happened to the customer is right and providing excellent service to have customers come back? I regret buying a Kia.

My 2011 Sorento only has 89500 miles and yesterday my airbag warning light came on. Took it to the dealer right away and they said it has to be diagnosed to see the problem. It will cost $120 just to diagnose. I have gone on line to see if this a rare event and to my surprise it is not. I will be taking it to an independent dealer to check it out. I feel this is not going to be inexpensive. This is a safety issue and NHTSA should get Kia to clean there act before someone dies!!

The airbag light illuminates red on my 2011 Kia Sorento with 55,000 miles. This indicates the airbag would not deploy in a crash. Although Kia motors has sent out the extended warranty to cover the airbag clock spring assembly, this airbag failure was diagnosed under code B1764, and is a defective seat cushion with a replacement cost of $1300. This defective part should be included in the extended warranty for airbags, or determine an alternate fix. A defective part that is not critical in a crash has rendered my airbags useless.

Airbag warning light came on unexpectedly even though the airbags have never been deployed and there has been no damage to the vehicle. I have been advised by the dealer that the airbags will not deploy since the light is on. My vehicle has approximately 75,000 miles. There are numerous complaints online about this same issue describing a broken clock spring or passenger occupant sensor mat. Kia has had this same issue with other models as well and there needs to be a recall asap.

The airbag light lit up so I took it to the dealer. They said it was the clock spring and not covered under warranty. They also wanted to let me know that my airbags will probably not deploy if I get in a wreck. Multiple owners of Sorento's have complained and there should be a recall. Kia recalled the hondo in 2007 or 08 for the same problem. This is not acceptable! they want $500 to replace it!

Kia sent a notice that they are extending the warranty for the front airbag clock spring assembly. My airbag light is staying illuminated so I took it into the dealer for a diagnostic. The dealer informed me that the issue is not the clock spring assembly its the occupant classification mat. This means that if I am in a crash my front airbag will not deploy and I am risking the life of my passenger. Why is this issue not included with the notice that they sent since it also involves the airbag and the airbag sensor?

Takata recall Kia Sorento 2011 my driver side and back passenger doors don't open from the outside when not in motion or in motion. My air bag light is on as well. I called Kia and they want to charge me $500 dollars for a diagnostic because I am over my warranty. I tried contacting the Kia's headquarter and all I get is a recording. This illegal and its extremely dangerous if I get into a car accident. I have children as well. What can I do to get Kia to fix this matter. I when on the website and read several complaints with the same problem. Why is this matter not a recall. Kia is putting peoples life in danger. I need my doors fixed. I have to climb through the right passenger car turn on the car bring the window down and then walk around and open from the inside. This is ridiculous. Kia should not be charging owners of there vehicle for this since its a safety matter. Please what can I do to get this matter fixed as soon as possible?

About a month ago I discovered that my air bag light came on. Well apparently I am not the only person that has complained about this. I called my nearest dealership which is in huntsville Alabama to let them know about this problem of course they informed me that there will be a $120 charge just to check to see what is causing this problem, I suppose to have an extended warranty which I feel has expired so therefore the charges are all on me. I did some research only to find that thousands of consumers have complained about the same thing with the same model. I want to know what can we get done about this issue before someone gets injured. Thanks aletha
