Occasionally, there is annoying squeaky noise coming from AC ducts when the engine is on. However, the noise would be gone when you turn on the AC or heater on.

Our 2017 Kia Sportage has a very annoying noise coming from the air conditioning. The noise goes away when you turn the air conditioning to heat or if you turn it off altogether. We have had this car back and forth to the dealers both here in Mooresville, North Carolina and in New Jersey. At first they told us that there was a recall on a sensor, they replaced it and the noise was still there. Then they replaced the freon in the compressor and the noise was still there and worse. Then they replace the compressor the noise is still there.

While I was in New Jersey I took it to another another Kia dealer. They also heard the noise. They turned the problem over to Kia corporate who then gave us a case number. Kia corporate told us to take the car back to the dealer whether in North Carolina or New Jersey and have them record the noise and send it to Kia corporate. Before we could get the car back to North Carolina to the dealer here they closed our case within just a few weeks.

We came back to the Kia dealer here in North Carolina they've had the car for a few days they called me and said that the noise that were hearing is a normal noise for that type of particular car Kia Sportage. I was not happy with that response I told them that that was not acceptable so I call Kia corporate back. The response I got from Kia corporate was less than desirable he told me that I needed to take it to the dealer. I repeated the whole situation to him again and ask him; did you hear anything? I told him that the air conditioning is not normal, it is not acceptable, it is also not in the Kia Optima loaner car.

We need help we need advice on where to go from here.

The A/C Compressor makes really bad noises when not on the freeway. It seems to be much worse in high temperature environments. I owned a 2007 Honda Accord that also had a bad sounding compressor (similar sound) and it had to be replaced, but this was at 185,000 miles. I can't even imagine having to replace one so soon, but it's definitely not a good sound. The dealership says this is a 'normal' operating sound. I am surprised this is the case on a new car. Our two other cars don't make this same sound and they have more miles.
