A customer may be unable to select a transmission gear and/or start the engine. A 'Gearbox fault' message may also be displayed on the Instrument Cluster. Switching the ignition 'OFF' and then 'ON' clears the fault. Upon further diagnosis, a Technician may find DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U0402-92 stored in the Transmission Control Switch (TCS). DTC U0402-00 [stored in the PCM (Powertrain Control Module)] and/or U0404-64 [stored in the TCM (Transmission Control Module)] may also be found.
