RX 330 6-cyl

  • 51,000 miles
I was recently gifted my mother's 2004 Lexus RX330 and have been noticing for some time now an extensively cracked dashboard that had been getting progressively worse for the past several years. In addition, there are several sticky spots on the dash which appears to be melting material. I have seen this complaint online repeatedly from other RX330 owners and was wondering if there is a class action suit. There is still an extended warranty on the car. After contacting the dealership in miami they have refused to cover the entire cost of repair. This is clearly a manufacturer defect.

This very meticulously maintained garaged vehicle began to crack over the top of the airbag on the passengers side. It continues to grow. It is now vertically cracked about 4 inches. It is always garaged parked at work and at home. The sun has had zero effect on this over the last two years of ownership. Not sure prior to the 2 years. I see from the internet this seems to be a common issue with this car.

After purchasing used vehicle noticed small cracks in dash appear above the glove compartment. Was brought into dealership for inspection and told could not be repaired. Over the last two years the cracks have become much worse and there are now two holes in dash where you see foam. Brought back to Lexus dealership for inspection. The regional customer service agent would only give 20% compensation on a $2000 replacement. Feel this is a inferior product and a factory defect. Have never seen this on a luxury car that is quality maintained.

After a rain storm, my driver side headlight was filled with water and the light does not turn on. The Lexus dealer quoted me price of $1566.23 to replace. I learned of a class action lawsuit against Toyota for failure to address this wide scale problem. Please include my complaint in this matter.
