We received the recall in June for a leaky fuel tank. We had that fixed. In July 2016 we received the recall for the faulty takata passenger side airbags. We went into bill knight Lincoln in tulsa, ok only to find out that there are no parts to fix it. In the meantime, a friend of mine initially got a unlimited loaner car because of the nature of her counseling job with children. She drove different cars in the meantime while I have been stuck with the warning of possible serious injury or death to occupants in the car for the last 8 months. It is stressful for me to think about that, to say the least, for me and for anyone else who might be with me in the car. Since the recall, no one sits in the passenger side. Friends and family have to sit in the back. Even so, I still don't feel we are all free from dangerous flying debris if the airbag deploys, by no fault of my own. Are there any solutions set in place to expedite replacement. Btw, my friend received her replacement airbag months ago. She then traded in that car for a new one. Regretfully, some of us do not have that luxury.

In July of 2016 rcieved recall notice from Lincoln motor company. Immediately contacted service dealer for service of this air bag recall (16V-384). Was told that the parts for this correction were not available and I would be notified as soon as they were provided to ourisman Lincoln of alexandria and could be serviced. Given the serious nature and risk of fatal injury of this defect I am concerned as to the length of time and lack of urgency with which the company is approaching this recall. Please advise as to the regulatory response time for this type of recall. Soon it will be a year into the response time.

Takata recall - I was notified by Ford Motor Company (postmarked 22 July 2016) that my Lincoln Mkx is involved in the recall, but there has been no other contact from them or an authorized dealer. Inasmuch as this is a safety recall, should there not be further work performed already?

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2007 Lincoln Mkx. The contact stated that the dealer did not notify the contact that the vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 14V682000 (fuel system, gasoline) since mid March 2015. In addition, upon receiving notification more than a year later, the dealer scheduled an appointment, indicated that the parts were available, and later stated that the parts were to be ordered. The parts were not available at the time of the appointment. The mechanic placed the original part back on the vehicle. The contact was notified of NHTSA campaign number: 16V384000 (air bags) and the dealer stated that the part was not available and provided no time frame that the part would become available. The manufacturer was unable to provide a reasonable time frame to supply the parts to the dealer for both recall repairs. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available....updated 10/19/16 the consumer stated the fuel system recall repair was completed, but not the airbags recall.
