The "sbs" system is a dangerous add to the vehicle. It is meant to warn the driver about vehicles suddenly slowing or braking in front of you. Three times this system has caused me near collisions (the system applied the brakes hard and cause the wheels too lock not allowing me to take a safe defensive actions) when the system activated when the "danger" was clearly gone or I took safe action and changed lanes to avoid a collision. The above incidents involved me driving on surface streets at posted speeds of 35-45 mph. This all happened with in a 2-3 week span of time when I had not disabled this feature manually. The road conditions were dry, daylight hours and semi clear days. All the above incidents involved vehicles turning in-front of me. The last time this incident happened was 05/08/19

Sun roof shattered while driving home on the highway in the pouring rain. I was not driving behind anything that could have kicked up a rock and there is no other damage to the roof of my car.

Sudden windshield cracking 11-14-2018 our 2018 CX5 has 7500 miles and driving at night with very little traffic on the freeway in southern California the windshield just cracked from the center down approx. 5 inches, there is no sign that it was hit by a stone or rock. I have owned a 2015 Mazda CX5 and the same problem happened with that vehicle. I have been following Mazda forums and finding out there are many people throughout the country experiencing this same issue. There is no bullet hole type mark to indicate a stone or rock hit windshield

On two separate occasions in the last month, during key on/startup/initialization, I will get an adaptive cruise control/aeb/lane keeping system failure. This is due to a fault in the camera module. Adaptive cruise control still works above 20 mph indicating that the failure is in the camera module. Failure is latched for the key cycle and but will recover after a long key cycle. 1st time the failure set, it was very warm out so I believed this was due to an overheat. The second time the failure set the temperature was in a normal range so my hypothesis is wrong. No unusual situation is occurring at startup except the failure. Have not taken to the dealer yet.

On the third day after leasing this brand new car, I was driving at approximately 20 mph, on a normal city street and slowly pressed my foot on the brake as I approached a red light on a standard city street. No cars were in front of me, thankfully, because as I pressed the brake the car accelerated instead of stopping; the engine and parking warning lights (and several other random lights) illuminated and flashed; and at least three text malfunction warnings appeared in the control panel including scbs malfunction. The car was jerking and accelerating forward throughout even though my foot was on the brake. Mazda's tech said that all the malfunctions I observed appeared on the computer readout, but because they could not replicate the problem after a computer reset, they told me that the car "is running as the manufacturer intended." This is terrifying.
