The contact owns a 2006 Mercury Grand Marquis. The contact stated that the front airbag symbol illuminated on the instrumental panel. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the contact was informed that the front passenger seat belt pretensioner needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired because the necessary parts were on back order. The manufacturer was notified and offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 49,000.
