Traveling on highway at 55 mph "power steering now" light chime on and I started exiting at the nearest exit as I was approaching the exit I reduced my speed to 30 mph and I noticed the steering was getting stiff. I was in panic mode because cars were approaching the exit and I wasn't able to steer. I coast to a parking lot and had my vehicle towed.I have no trust in that car. First throttle body almost was rear ended. Now this. No prior warning. Service now and it stop on you awhile you driving.

Going down the road at 30 mph and lost steering, it didn't lock down completely but was very hard to turn. And power steering assist fault showed up on my dash information panel.

Was driving and power steering went out called Ford dealer and was told it would cost 100 to 1000 to fix.

When I started the car, the power steering would not work, after a few seconds I turned the engine off and restarted it, then it worked just fine. The local Ford dealer told me there was nothing they could do if it as long as it was working properly at the time I reported it to them. I can see this could be a real problem if it occurs while the vehicle is in motion. Since this happened approx. A year ago, the date and mileage are estimates.
